I also don't agree we should've sold Leao last summer. We'd just won the Scudetto after 11 years and he was the reigning MVP. If he'd been his late twenties, this could've made sense. But we had every reason to believe he'd finally shown what he was capable of and would go on from strength to strength. This season has been a disappointment.
Imagine selling him after the title

imagine the keyboard sacchi outrage

I agree but the part you are missing from your point is, you lock up his contract and dont let it linger on for the whole season.

We have seen this movie before
Yeah true, but they were trying to extend. I guess they were acting in good faith. Sometimes I get the feeling Maldini is too naive for this world of duplicitous agents and insincere players. You can't be hanging out at a gambling joint and then all off a sudden go, "I am shocked that gambling is going on here!"

Yeah, there'd have been a meltdown. We'd have probably looked like the Ajax after 1995 or 2019.

Remember wise General, there are people who will complain regardless of which way the coin falls. Leao sold? Blame management for not keeping a star player and likely them blame them for not using the money wisely. Leao renews? Blame management for not selling him while he had value and now we're stuck with him not performing (when none of the team is).

few can bring what Ante brings

Any RnBer under 40 would have matched Rebic season so far. Let's hope he turns on the madness soon, or else it's goodbye Vienna in the summer.

We are crying out for an Alpha - a striker who isnt solely dependent on the team, a player that can run and open space, get the ball and beat his man, create for himself and others.
Basically What nesta said, all out for an at tacker

A real SD wouldve sold Leao preWC
Got Depay to replace him and invested 100millions in the other positions of the team

Would Depay wanted to have come... I'm not sure at all... Yes we're the glorious Milan, but I think big bucks and playing Barca a couple of times a year to prove a point, then a couple of matches at Real are more appealing to Depay.

Leao should have been sold by now.

No, I don’t believe Leao has shown enough to be worthy to risk this on. If he and Bennacer were insistent on being turds last summer we should have sold. We can’t get into the habit of trying to “convince people of our projects” and go through these negotiations mid season (that itself is already a distraction, we’ve seen with Kessie and now Leao)

Literally doesn’t matter what his agent says, it’s naive to even bring those things up.

The fact is he’s not renewed and we are losing more leverage by day.

The thing I don't get about Bakayoko is why not attempt to negotiate away the clause, to give yourself the opportunity to play?

Milan would rather play youth players. There's no scenario where Milan would play him to trigger that clause now.

Why do that when you can sit on the bench and collect a big paycheck.

"Career" - I think that ship already sailed for him. But to collect big paychecks as long as he can and maybe go to Saudi Arabia or somewhere after Milan.

If you look up overrated in the dictionary a picture of Ziyech should pop up. I rarely seen a player more overrated, spent most of his career at Eredevisie and flopped at Chelsea but people act like he is Messi.

I'd say people just know he's better than Messias... We want better than Messias right?

All while balancing books and lowering wages, and filling multiple holes?

Maybe just maybe that's what people are saying?

We have become a feeder club and a stepping stone ..accept it lads. We are only mighty milan in terms of previous history. It’s almost impossible to remain a truly big club anymore. Bournemouth and pissy small English clubs outbid us and this trend will only get worse every year.

We need super league basically. Premier league is already a super league. All hail Florentino Perez and the cunt Agnelli. They are actually trying to save all our big clubs from becoming mere benficas and psvs to the English clubs

I can only think he knows he's pretty much washed up, look at the teams after him lol... I think he want to say he "played for Milan" for a couple of seasons and pick up his big paycheck. Simple as that.

He's a leech and a pathetic, if rich, piece of shit!

This is such a lazy argument. Why would we blame management for not keeping him if they reinvested that back into the squad to fix all of our weaknesses, which we would be able to do if he did indeed sell asap rocky?

The argument of “imagine the fans’ reaction if we sold him after the scudetto” is ridiculous because he wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of the illustrious list of players sold after their respective clubs won silverware.

The point still stands that lil uzi should’ve been sold in the summer and we are yet to see a sound argument against this well-thought claim.

If he wants to build with you and you want to build with him, you keep him.

If he doesn't, you sell him this summer. This is different to the Kessie situation, in my view.

The legal complications made this sticky, the filings made that abundantly clear to anyone who wanted to look.

Bennacer is a very good player, you sorted out his contract, he signed, done. You say he was a turd, why? He didn't let contract negotiations bother him--he has shown up. He didn't make a drama. He signed. He was supposed to be another "test case" for Maldini that has transformed into another "doesn't count."

Milan believe they have a unique talent in Leao. They are giving him strong contract terms. Mudryk is on 3.2m plus 1m in bonuses, Felix is on 3.5m, so Milan is offering a strong package for Leao, he has good reason to stay.

I also think what an agent says, when it comes to negotiations does matter. Those comments are public and impact how each side approaches the situation. Kessie's agent and Leao's agent approached things very differently.

Bennacer got rid of his previous agent to stay at Milan, the man brought in a Raiola to close the deal. Leao moved Mendes to the side (if not completely moved on from him) to get someone new. If we are going to make parallels between players, then you can't shrug at stuff like this.

I dunno. If he gets sold, I'll be disappointed, and it would make me reconsider how I view this project--how we react to the sale and our ambition would determine whether I think we have regressed or have just moved on from a player.

Just my two cents bro.

There's a pattern I'm sure everyone can pick up on, except the 533 fella.

Players we want to renew are leaving.
Players we want to sell are staying.

Either all players are idiots and snakes, or whoever is in charge of the negotiations isn't qualified enough.

His agent isn't trying to get him a new team because he's happy collecting a check.

He will go play somewhere else after he leaves, I just don't get why you wouldn't even try to at least remove that clause so you can give yourself a better chance at selection.

Then again, Chelsea don't know how to attach the right pdf.
