Most clubs are running at a huge loss yet are still spending on transfers. We are almost running at a profit and choose not to spend on transfers. The money is there if we want to spend. We’re going to be under FFP limits even if we spend a lot, especially starting next season. Why aren’t we spending? I don’t know, but it’s not because we don’t have the money. This is a fact. You always say the money is there for transfers from gordon/gerry is just they choose not to have their pants pulled down by the market.
Maybe it was like that with the sale.
Our rolling 3year FFP window for the next season is going to be around 70m loss or so. Under the 90m limit. If we start getting a profit from sales we can spend without worrying about FFP anymore. In 2024/25 the 70m loss from 2021 will be off the window so we’ll be running at a pure profit and can spend pretty much freely.
If we’re not spending because of FFP that makes it really unlikely we would have spent 300m on the market since the same rules will apply.
