Should have won when Porto lifted the trophy. But yes corona could have Been on roids. Possibly.
Farca robbed us the year after
Juventus had like 4 consecutive seasons above us in the league in that period and Inter had 3, and Inter in that period was spending like mad men and getting many elite players, they were spending even more than us.

We got the better of both of them the next season.

As for the 2004-05 league title win, tbh yes we should have won but when things like this happen, what can you do?

View attachment 19612

And in 2005-06, we got 88 points before Calciopoli. Hard to fault a team that couldn’t win the league with 88 points because Juve had 91.

Besides if we the titles in both seasons, it would have sadly likely been stripped since we technically also cheated and got points deducted
Could have and should have. Dint do it. Cheating or not. Carlo failed.

His league record is piss poor for a top manager. I agree calciopoli affected our ability to win the scudetto but what about Chelsea and he even got usurped by montpellier lmao in France. Barca fucked up upside down in real. It's a trend. He is noting special.

He is a good coach when he has a great team.

Any half decent coach could would win 2 champions league titles with that star studded team. Hell dimwit pioli would have won 2 too and he sure wouldn't have choked vs deportivo after going 4-1 up.

i'm not against upgrading pioli at all! idk why some people here seem to deliberately not want to understand this (mostly pioli's former #1 fan club + @sheva and @Qaas :head:)

whoever seriously thinks that this management would fire pioli after this season and pay the release clause for another coach is either delusional or has not been following the club for the last few years. all this crying for a new coach is pointless, it won't happen.

it's like our RW position. instead of paying 2m loan fee + 5m for 31yo messias, they could have gambled on a young player with that money. they opted for the player who gives them somewhat guarantees. now, every time a possible reinforcement that costs more than 15-20m is mentioned here, you immediately hear that he doesn't outperform messias and therefore can't be an option.

the same reasoning can be applied to pioli:
reached a CL sf and can still finish 2nd place in the league. he is still overachieving with this squad, whether you want to accept it or not.
the next shiny thing in brighton for whom the former #1 pioli fan club is recently twerking, isn't outperforming pioli results wise right?:proud:
then why do people here seriously think this is a real possibility? or that a foreign coach like nagelsmann could be brought in. when was the last time that happened? it's like some want to be delusional on purpose.

not too long ago pioli's 'chaos' was the hottest shit (he was literally on fire), when italiano 'exposed' him he was promoted as the next successor, now that he's struggling at fiorentina nobody cares about him anymore, as the next hype job is located in england (after not even a full season). and all this within 16-18 months? while the current coach has won a scudetto and reached the CL sf during that time. just hilarious mental gymnastics:lol: guaranteed if de zerbi disappoints next season, they will jump to the next one.

i would take spalletti immediately if the possibility exists. unfortunately he has disqualified himself with that unserious scudetto tattoo:o

if management really want to make the next step, maybe they should start demonstrating these ambitions on the transfer market as well?

Allan was like 15 mins so was radja. Instead we splashed 20 m on bertolacci

It was like galliani forgot how to build a team. Or really it was always Braida
Galliani is a dumbass. Just lucky he kisses Silvio's ugly ass. Any nincompoop could do gallianis job lol. One of the biggest frauds ever.

Inter must lose for us to have a chance at top 3. You can never be sure about Juve appeals. Gerry will take that as excuse for not spending.
And you're 100% sure that we can win vs Juve and Verona?

The 4 CL wins is great. The other points of yours seem to be really specific, made up stats that are super situation specific ( "Only manager at Everton to win at Anfield since 1999" ). They aren't global stats that you can compare across managers.

I guess if you have a super squad and you want to win the CL, then maybe Carlo is your guy. If you don't have a super amazing squad or you want to try and win the league, then Carlo probably isn't the right guy.

I was replying specifically because the other poster made very specific points tbf

If you’re looking at it generally, I’d say winning 4 CLs, all top 5 leagues, most champions league wins and his insane longevity to still be at a top level despite coaching since 1995 are his main arguments for his GOAT resume. He’s basically left with the WC only.

Give pioli farca midgets of peps peak version or carlos milan, he too would win 2 - 3 ucls.

Win with an average team like klopp did with pool. Midfield of hendo lmao winlajdum and a left back like Robertson Lel. Now that's a real coach.

Piolito can’t even beat Liverpool’s reserves and lost 0-5 to the 12th placed team in the EPL.

I don’t want to imagine him facing 2007’s United or 2007’s Liverpool team even with Carlo’s squad.

Give Don Carlo current team and see where we finish up.

He'll allegro might be a better league coach than Carlo.

Allegro helped us reach number 3 with a piss poor squad iirc.

Same for pep. We will be playing tika take backwards and backpass to goalie to clear back into the opposition half and gift them the ball.

Tiki tooki taka with messias salad lmao. Calabria would probably trip over himself trying to dribble.

An actual coach @Pigeon

Before we hired Giampolo, I actually wanted Inzaghi :(

Proper coach.

If you give Pioli everything he wants, he’s a proper coach tbf. But he showed his lack of adaptability when the departure of one player in Kessie who isn’t even world class broke his entire system.

Imagine if Leao left, good lord.

I do think if we have a good Mercato and allow Pioli to fill in the missing pieces, we can recreate post-lockdown football. But don’t ask Pioli to adapt though, he can’t do that for shit.

GOATlotti would win the CL with this Milan squad, while Pepito Guardiola would get this team relegated. My analysis is based on factos.

Imagine Pepito trying to play Tiki-Taka and trying to implement a 70% possession side with Messias/Diaz/Giroud as attackers and guys who can’t even pass

You have a point that he's stayed at near the top for a really long time At the same time, being around for so long helps you to collect more titles, even if you aren't amazing. And what about at any point in time, like right now? It seems that if a club doesn't have a super squad then there are other managers who would might do better like Sarri, Spalletti, Nagelsmann, Simone Inzaghi....

Carlo is a good people manager. If you give him a squad full of champions, he can manage them well and allow them to do their best on the pitch.

No way would we win the title with Don Carlo with this pile of shit squad. We would make semis maybe with luck but we will finish outside top 3 in the league. Same as now.

I dont know why they don't give opportunity to players from primavera (zeroli, eletu, stalmach, cuenca) i'm sure any of them will be better than CDK this season.
bc they would easily be worse than Gabbia or Pobega.

Inter or Atalanta to win, whats better for us ?
Probably a draw or Atalanta win
Atalanta win means if we win against Juventus we be 3rd place, And qualified. if we lose or draw we be 4th place still good
Inter win means, if we win against Juventus we are already qualified for CL, if we draw we be 4th place

The WC in winter should never happen again. I agree that we were doing good and the long interruption plus the trip to Dubai screwed everything up. By January Leao, Theo, and Giroud were not the same players and we not the same team as the one pre WC. From a long period of inactivity to a too busy schedule was an insane situation and it affected us probably more than others.
Poor excuse - everybody had to endure it.

Maybe it caused Napoli to runaway but we did best them head to head. Inter also had key players taking part.

If we want to blame the WC then you have to put more blame on management for the summer as the quality wasn't there. I think however it was mostly on Pioli and the players (for the drop in Jan-Feb) who didn't correct worrying trends early enough.

This group has a serious issue taking lesser opposition lightly. They sleepwalk through much of the match. As a young squad I would expect them to play much harder for a long period and then crash but the approach seems to be more like a veteran team who has won multiple trophies.

All that said when we were being humiliated during that period I said it was a failure on all involved. Management knew a WC would be played and which of our players would be taking part and may go deep into the tournament. They knew what our objectives were as well and the summer was what it was. When we were desperate at the start of the year, no-one of worth arrived.

Blaming an outside factor everyone knew would occur seems to absolve the club and in my eyes it shouldn't.
