Uhhh

the ego is all yours here, sir

you think you know better than a guy who runs a club
Owning a club and running a club are two different things.

If you're so positive on Gerry, whats your big prediction for next season. Ill tell you noe, if this is all true, we won't qualify for CL whoever we buy.

Thats only possibly Ibra

Whats going to happen though when Moncada goes for his players and we still cant close them because SD's dont give us the time of day because he isnt Maldini or Galliani?
Dial the next tier down and then the next one like we have been doing?

We have to hope that the reports of Massara overruling Moncada were true or its going to be an ugly summer.
I guess we will see.
What i know is our choices went south as soon as Maldini took full power.
I didnt want Maldini gone.
Instead i wanted a shift in decision scheme.
Redbird appointing Moncada is a good sign.
I would be more worried if they got a suit to replace Maldini.
My reading is thst Moncada will be unleached within the given budget.

let’s be honest

Gerry follows the commode and he’s getting tired of the same sides so he decided to switch things up a bit

Papers saying Leao mike Theo not happy

...I bet Gerry is surprised. You think he's ever spoken to any of our players

Grazie Maldini for everything. I hope he will have great career wherever he goes and whatever he does. He never wanted "mascot" type of job. He wanted to be involved directly to make Milan strong again .He succeeded and made Milan competitive again. Nobody will replace his class.

But it's time to move on.We must support new staff. Their biggest silence from the doubter is if we become stronger than the last year. I think that is more than achievable.

Forza Milan.

I must have missed the memo that said we should be joyful about the sacking of the guy who won us trophies on the pitch and took us out of the banter era.
You mourn Maldini rubbing our failure in our faces months from now ?

I think we will sell players at the right time now for eg. tomori and moncada will bring in many talented young players.

I think Theo might leave as some rich big clubs are in need of a left back. We will probably sell for 80ish mil.

That would technically give Moncada 150mil or so to work with ..

We have to realise that we cannot create a competitive and more importantly deep squad while having players with huge value and then all shitholes as backups. Squad needs more balance and either we spend net 100mil (obv not happening) or we sell some assets which can be replaced and reinvest properly..

Find us the next Mbappe and Bernardo Silva pls Mr. moncada

Lets be serious for a seconde. You really think that someone bought a club for 1.3B and have a plan to destroy it?

I don't think like that boys. Yes Maldini is out, I am really sorry for that. But they are not so dumb to sell best players and lose alot of essets.

Imagine losing Ibra and Maldini the same 'day'

Rafa is going to have to do all the heavy lifting so I can only hope some big time players that are game changers from day one arrive.

What you call a failure this season, you'll envy in the next decade. Worst thing is we had a project to build from. Now we're back to nothingness.

This is my 4th decade supporting Milan. Lived it, have the tshirt and all that. You'll come to realise that you should always be careful what you ask for, beyou might just get it. Maldini like most wasn't perfect, but hes better than the shit storm ahead.

It’d make no sense to keep Pioli if part of their disagreement with Maldini was buying more so called “established” vs continue on the young scouted player path, probably even further.
Pioli is the one, the only one, to deviate from that plan. So why would he stay if that’s how the tables are set.

So I don’t believe they’d want to keep him. But even if by miracle they do, himself will run away, if Maldini is out. Not many other SDs will remain calm with him like Maldini did, seeing that football he displays…by design.
After 2-3 months, the SD will be like “hold on, you’re doing this shit on purpose?!”

Fuck! Got Ibra’s farewell yesterday … but it wasn’t over.
Maybe they dont think Pioli ruined players that Maldini chose because they werent good to begin with.

Something tells me that the vibe in here would be very different if Juve still had those 10 points.

After 4 decades of following Milan and football, I know enough to recognise good owners from bad ones.

You can sink your head in the sand like an ostrich, but you'll need to comr out for air at some point. The rest of us will be realistic, just like we had to be when Fassoni and Mirabelli raped our club. Blind optomism is jot a good thing, especially when you're pessimistic in your analysis of the guy who turned around our club so successfully.

Now I’m cooled down a bit.

I think this whole thing is planned well in advance. Gerry Cardinale will never keep Maldini in the long run. He bought Milan as an investment opportunity, not for sporting success. He didn’t dare to sack Maldini because he needed a smooth takeover and transition. Maldini at Milan is always too much for Cardinale to handle, there was and will always be collision in vision if Maldini stays.

It’s obvious now Maldini’s last mission was to renew all the remaining contracts, and Cardinale can’t wait to dump him after season was over. The manner of sacking shows Cardinale not only wanted to sack Maldini, but also to humiliate him. I think poor performance for last mercato is just an excuse. He is taking revenge on Maldini for dragging his contract situation last year for more power and budget.

The feeling now is that we will go full-swing money ball and just like Red Bull teams and Dortmund, no player is untouchable at the club if a suitable offer arrives. Red bird will just pocket the money and buy a younger substitute. It’s safe to say Cardinale will not put in a penny into summer mercato, I remember him talking about team needs to be “self-sufficient” and the only way to do that for the current Milan is through player sales.

I’m preparing myself for the departure of Theo either this year or the next because Red Bird will not renew his contract again. I’m preparing myself not get attached to any of the players because they will be sold at their premium market values. I’m preparing myself to accept AC Milan to become a steeping stone for promising players if Red Bird stays long enough.

Great job Red Bird and Cardinale, just when the fans see glimpse of hope and think the team is on the right track, you bring us straight back to reality.

I can’t believe some of you judge Maldini simply by his mercato performance. What he brought to the club is the DNA of AC Milan. He connects players to the history of this club; he instils winning mentality and creates this Milan environment no other clubs have in the world; He makes players proud of playing and fighting for this club!

So none of the players that were brought in... were brought in on Moncada's recommendation?

The biggest challenge will be to maintain squad morale. This will be a tense summer in that regard. Papers will link our players to other clubs. Constantly.

If we ride out the summer with our nucleus intact, and if we act swiftly and decisively on the market, we could be surprised how well next season goes. There is a certain magic about this team and its players, and only continuity engenders that.

Ultimately, what ownership did was not make an unpopular decision last summer, deferring it instead to this one. Maldini used the Scudetto leverage last summer, and the CL SF this one. I would argue it worked in neither case. He didn’t get a substantial war chest last summer, and he wasn’t about to get one this summer either. The philosophies were at total odds with each other, and the names and ages of the players we have been linked to are quite the departure from a youth project.

Ownership wants coherence. Whether it works, we shall see, but I do expect consistency in messaging and action.
