The more I think about it, the less I understand what happened.
Kicking Paolo Maldini out of Milan is a suicidal act. There's only 1 way to erase it - big mercato.
Curva Sud already demanded investments before they even knew about Maldini. Now that the club icon is out they should be rioting and the only thing that can shut their mouths is a serious mercato, which doesn't look to be the plan as it seems.

I don't really understand the plan here. Gerry (even if we assume he is re-tarded) has no interest in Milan becoming a selling club. The guy seems like another investor who just wants to flip the club in 3-4 years for a massive profit. And for this to happen he needs a very strong team and a stadium. None of these is going to happen with the club being held on a leash financially.

On the other hand, Maldini and Pioli did fuck up disastrously this season. One of them delivered a mercato of only flops, except for Thiaw, while the other one deliberately refused to integrate the new players. The football Gods saved us with Ladri's penalty, otherwise we were clearly heading straight into another banter era.

I kind of see why Gerry kicked Paolo out, but at the same time don't understand it. If Gerry kicks Pioli out as well, then, it's just a purge with new men that he chose. It doesn't seem nice at first, but may be a great decision in the long run. If Pioli remains, though, it just means that we are going for another cheap ass mercato and Pioli remains only because he has a long contract that we don't want to break because we would owe him a lot of money. Having said that, we also owe a lot of money to Maldini and Massara, which apparently isn't a problem.

Gerry probably has no idea about football and probably calls it soccer, but he surely has some adequate advisors. If these advisors saw Maldini ready to drop 50 m on Brahim, Arnautovic and RLC, this may have changed the situation drastically. I really don't know which is right and which is wrong.

Yeah, Pioli will surely give up on his big wages for the next 2 seasons and will head straight to Genoa or Verona.

I am kind of excited to see what happens. If we start landing top talents left and right, then fine, but I fear Cuntinale will bring us back into the banter era.

I mean the last market was a failure. If this is based on that then I get it. But the way this was handled is weird.

It also doesnt help we are fully emotionaly invested when it comes to Maldini. Lets see.

For me if Maldini isn’t involved with this club it tells u everything u need to know about the owners. They clearly want to struggle to top 4 every year and not interested in getting us to the top of European football

I read the script guys, it only gets worse: Fraudinale brings back the banter era and Inter wins the UCL. Prepare yourselves.

Let's wait until the end of the market to judge. It's possible that we have a good one, and Gerry starts to get his finger out of his ass on the new stadium.

Or not. In which case we can start the RedBird out campaign.

I don't like pos Gerry . Milan must become much stronger then this year. If that doesn't happen ,fans should boycott San Siro.

Within two months Milan should announce the area where they plan to build the stadium and the goal is to play the first game in this new stadium in 2028-29.

If Pioli does not want to stay maybe Mark Van Bommel would be a good candidate…

Let’s not beat about the bush here if someone had to go this year it was Pioli. Yes some of the signings weren’t great but that was mostly down to funds available

Unpopular opinion maybe Maldini did not want to sign a new contract under the conditions he got… hence I would not state he got fired…

What was laughable was how much you tried to spin straightforward statements at M and M being subpar.

That's okay. Reality has hit you hard.

There's a life lesson here. You are never too old to eat another slice of humble pie.
Not surprising that you did not really get what happened today and why. Too self-absorbed to comprehend the impact of losing Maldini. Not smart enough to understand my posts either. And by continuing to make fun of my age, you are proving you are a troll, and not a very good one either. Keep trolling as much as you want, I am done wasting my time.

Seems a very strange decision. Even if I try to be as harsh and ruthless on Paolo as possible then I still feel he needs another year. He hasn't actually failed yet. I honestly think the management would've taken a semi final in the CL and to qualify for CL again. Next season, the job of having a good season is a little more difficult because I'd say anything but a scudetto would be a satisfactory season, given that we expect Napoli to be out the title race and Inter are another year older and may be much weaker too, while we would've only improved our squad.

Now, we've destroyed our soul and the harmonious aura we've had these last few years. Are our chances for success next season better? I think it's very hard to see how. The pressure will be coming a lot quicker now so they have to handle that. The fans have the right to demand excellence now because that's the message they've sent by getting rid of a guy who did a very good job.

If I remember correctly, redbird are basically here short-term, to improve the clubs finances/status, and then sell on to a huge buyer to make profit. Am I right.??

Quality players can ease the blow .We are living in a world that needs instant result ,again better that they showed him the door now, then to get fired at half of season and be humiliated completely . Next days are interesting ,i look forward to statement from Maldini.

Between a terrible market, confirming players like Messias, passing on enzo, muani and dybala in just 3 mos.... And finishing FIFTH as reigning champs, while running your mouth publicly....

Honestly, guys. It's not hard to see why this happened.

Yes, legend... Yes, face of Milan.

But no, not the owner... He's an employee.

Either they complete the stadium and Elliot buys back with favorable terms or he defaults on the loan and Elliot gets us back for peanuts

Coaches like Guardiola and Ancelotti have been sacked and this didn't destroy their teams. Didn't lead to players handing transfer requests. All of our important players have long contracts (until at least 2026), so we are still where we were 24 hours ago. We still need 3 proper players in order to win the second star. And these 3 players can be delivered by Furlani, Moncada or whoever takes Maldini's place even with just 50 m + sales.

Those weren't the reasons he got fired bro. He got fired coz he doesn't follow the instructions and wanted more for the club. Gerry is an idiot. He did 10 steps back now for the club. But not for his pockets.

We'll see now how will Mike extend and how long will Theo and Rafa stay. And... how will Pioli lead the Milanello without Maldini and Ibra. With his serie B staff? With Moncada and Tare??
