Nobody knows but one thing that no one could doubt is if Paolo comes calling you don't just ignore it. Analytics only takes you so far, you think Leao Theo and Tonali all would have signed and renewed in the absence of Maldini?

Like many I didn't like how they've gone about their business so far. Until we see results I dont know why we should jump on the Redbird bandwagon, they've given no reason to, apart from piss off the majority if the fan base. Will reserve judgement in the meantime. If they do make meaningful signings and open their wallet I will gladly eat humble pie.

Thing is we've seen this story with American owners and other clubs. Don't for one second think Redbird actually care about winning as long as the balance sheets look good.
Theo and Leao were relative nobodies when they signed, I don't think it would have made a difference and the club is in a much strong position now

People are being a bit naive with this whole Maldini contacting players thing. You know he, just like Pioli, contacted Ndicka and got rejected right? Players care about money and having success so they can make more money, that's the truth. A legend of the sport calling you and telling you to join will not convince many. In fact, we sat here with this tactic and watched targets slip by going to stronger sporting projects

Let's look at Thuram. Do you think a coach contacting and saying something like "You know we play a press-hard and counter-heavy game, someone with your pace and stature would benefit greatly from that" is any less convincing than getting a call from Maldini? I really don't

Maldini's impact is felt in player relations once they are at the club, that much is obvious and will be missed. But to say a phone call from Maldini will make someone alter their lives and career is a bit much

Gazzetta writes that yesterday CAA Icon consultants and San Donato municipality had a meeting, they don't give any details but they say Redbird is ready to invest one billion to build the new stadium in that area

Now this are news that I want to read.

Now this will make me more optimistic if it can get done

Years of rumours, talking, and meetings about building a stadium. So far no action. When I see news that land has been purchased and plans are approved, then I'll get interested.

And yet you don’t find the comments that discredit Maldini’s recent work to be annoying?

This the main issue me and @Samaldinho have. I have faith in Moncada, not in Pioli but I’m happy if he can prove me wrong.

But if you find out comments annoying, then how do you think we find the comments that that discredit Maldini?

Apparently, Leao’s renewal suddenly isn’t to his credit. Bennacer/Mike/Theo/Tonali all Gazidis work apparently.

Kolo Mouani was 100% a Moncada pick and a Maldini failure even though Milan did everything to get him and he chose the German league for his career.

The links to Berardi/Arnautovic? Maldini. The links to Kamada? Moncada apparently.

Maldini is apparently a dictator. Can’t work well with teams.

It’s like everything that was good last couple of seasons was barely his credit but everything bad is all on him, and I’m not imagining things. This narrative does exist.

Redbird and our current new team hasn’t done anything to gain our faith yet like Maldini did in 2019-2022. They could but I need to see some movement before really giving them credit.

I get you. Maldini is neither the unfailable legend that guarantees success only by his shier presence, nor has Redbird done anything noteworthy that deserves our blind faith just of yet.

Papers are full of shit, as always. Nothing has changed. We are going to read a lot of shit. Some will say Maldini wanted Pirlo and couldn't get Leao's renewal done without Furlanis help. Others will say Ndicka chose Roma over Milan because Pioli has no pull. As always: take every rumor with more than just a grain of salt.

I hope both sides can tune their sassy comments a bit down.

The OTHER major reason RedBird want to sign Ndicka, Tielemans & Thuram for free (besides their quality), is the fact that they’re all young enough to be flipped for a profit plus it’s a great opportunity to add 3 HUGE assets to the BS at no cost.

After all, despite being in the final year of their contracts, according to Transfermarkt, Ndicka + Thuram are both worth 32m whereas Tielemans is valued at 30m.

Therefore, any future sale will be a 100% pure capital gain which will help to fund even more quality signings.

WIN-WIN

Okay to clarify when I made that sarcastic dig, it wasn’t exactly a dig at Pioli or Moncada. I don’t blame them for failing to get Ndicka to sign for us. The guy choose Roma and money, that is fine. It would have happened even if Maldini was here as well.

I do think Maldini’s pull can be more influential to attract players but it’s obviously not the all of that. The calls comments were just a banters joke. Using Pioli to call will still have pull and there is merit in the idea that if a coach tells you about his plans, it’s becomes easier to make a decision.

My comment was more related to the some of the narrative going on that everything Maldini did turned to shit and now that he isn’t dragging us down, our current management should be able to get every target they want no? It was a dig at that narrative rather than mocking Pioli/Moncada. I’m assuming this is where Sam comes from as well and unlike him I won’t call them a failure if we don’t win everything single trophy next season because I understood that Maldini got fired due to differences in working style, possibly budget, opinions, disagreement and nothing to do with his performance as an SD. For me that was clear.

I don’t blame Pioli/Moncada for missing on him, and I’m not even bothered that they missed out on him because an extra defender right now is a luxury signing. The player made a choice for his career and it’s fine.

Just wanted to clarify this part

Moncada and Furlani out if we don't sign Thuram, Chukwueze, TIelemans, Baldanzi, N'Dicka, Kamada and extend Maignan by Monday.
I like that. Except we can do without baldzani and get sms as the main big signing. Ans then focus on getting a striker.

Some of the people here are so strange. Why would you support stupid EPL fake club tonight. You want Seria A back to glory, you want Milan back on top of the Europe? Better support any Italian side even if called Merda and Ladri as this is the only way Italy get back an attention it used to have.this bring money, sponsors, fans and ultimately Italian being able to compete at international level again. Ultimately there is no point of celebrating someones failure. Unless we are talking about artificial clubs built by blood money and coached by Bald Fraud! Basta

Them winning after beating us in the SF in particular will feel a bit shit.

Also couldn’t stand their cocky comments, celebrations and arrogance after that win, even if I don’t blame them. Especially Dimarco and Martinez. Fuck them.

So a humble pie on them would be nice.

No one is denying Maldinis pull. Find me one poster here who literally denied Maldinis pull. The only one who did that as far as I know is Scaroni, and he's a certified moron and certainly not the leader of positivity force

But I disagree with people who are trying to pass the narrative that this is AC Maldini and not AC Milan. As if Maldini was bigger than the club (no one is). Maldini calling can make the difference, I'm not denying this, but I can't stand the sassy comments basically saying that his voice alone makes players stand in line to join AC Milan when we have countless examples of even free agents choosing a BL midtable team over Maldinis call...

Look, I'm on nobodys bandwagon yet. I don't even trust Pioli, I've been very vocal about that in recent weeks. Redbird has taken a bold decision and only time will tell if they were right or not. But I've seen that before with Elliott splitting ways with Leonardo, Gattuso and Boban... "Those Americans! They only here for the profit! We never gonna win shit! Players will ask to leave! Now watch us going back to banter! We're in shambles!"

Calma, guys!

Let's first see how this new direction pans out before loosing our shit. People make the wrong assumption that only because some of us are not throwing tantrums and blasting off sassy comments we're fine with everything that's happened and that's still happening. But one can disagree and still try to see the reasoning why certain decisions were made, assuming that the people who made them - like a supposed die hard Milan fan since childhood like Furlani - took them thinking they're doing it for the best of Milan (and their business profits, of course).
Look buddy.. Posters who against sacking Maldini only regret new owner treat him this way after What he is done (getting scudetto and UCL semis), No one is pulling narrative Maldini is bigger than AC Milan.... But his existence is needed, otherwise there is No news that They try to offer zlatan a position..

This is obvious example that annoying poster/posting can comes from both forces...

Other sides Just don't like some poster belittle Maldini worked as if he purely bad SD.. Sure he missed some target or have bad signing.. But we can not denied Core players he has assbled in this squad were some of the best in his position..

Based on the latest rumours, it appears that Milan is finally going to be run in an extremely financially EFFICIENT manner which is music to my ears.

After all, MF are targeting young, quality free agents like Ndicka, Tielemans & Thuram to pad out the squad, planning to sell the deadwood and those with little playing time in addition to the occasional first teamer where appropriate. Therefore, there will no longer be any more sentimental contracts/handouts for the likes of Ibra, Baka, Florenzi, Messias + Origi etc.

All of these manoeuvres will actually help us to SAVE money which can be better utilised by Moncada to sign dirt cheap, high potential youngsters from overseas on low wages who benefit from the GDT given his STELLAR track record.

But yeah, let the penniless muppets on here who don’t have a fucking CLUE about money bemoan Maldini’s departure and cry how ‘he wasn’t given enough money’ whilst failing to acknowledge that he allowed many quality players to walk for free, made ZERO sales, handed out lavish contracts to non-contributors like Baka, Origi, Florenzi + Ibra etc. and wasted the mercato budget on a bunch of players who didn’t fit the coach’s system (without consulting him) whilst leaving gaping holes in the squad  :fp:

Damn it feels good to finally be managed by financially SAVVY individuals who actually mirror the thoughts of a handful of smart posters on this forum :proud:

Let the fucking games begin! :uzikill:

After the initial shock I'm calm and await the moves that are in store for the club. I live in the U.S. since I was 17 but never thought of myself as an American. It's a great and beautiful country but I hate the passion for guns and the ease with which they can be purchased. Also the brutality and lack of humanity of corporations that only care about profits and see people as robots.
The firing of Maldini one day after our last game was disgusting and totally unexpected and undeserved if you look at the complete picture. I knew there was a meeting scheduled but not that it would be the last one so felt devastated by the news.
These are people who take smiling photos together, they look to get along, everything is fine, but a snake among them is plotting to get rid of the two guys who brought us back to relevancy. For that reason I can never trust Cardinale in everything he says. The lack of class by ownership on how they handled the situation, as well as the lack of respect for an icon who has dedicated his whole life to the club is astounding to me.
Gerry's interview where he said that his attendance at the stadium is not necessary, that he thinks about Milan while back in New York and that's enough, and that it's a team effort was embarrassing to read. What about if you go to the stadium to be entertained? To encourage you players? To show that you care? I doubt if he watches the games on TV or if he even enjoys the sport. He thinks of himself as a genius, I see him as an asshole who couldn't give a fuck about our club except for how he can exploit a property like any other. I got news for him: it's always been a team effort, you need all the components to function if you want to succeed, and analytics have been around for years. You still need the human element in scouting to assess what kind of person a player is and if he can fit in with his team-mates. I will always be a Milan fan and wish them well no matter who owns the club, but I despise the current one and hope he goes away soon.

Or did he?

Good to see though, perhaps their friction from what the media said was a bit overstated and glad they ended on decent terms

Doesn't seem like Pioli wanted him out. If there was tenion between them they wouldn't meet up now.

I’m really sad for Maldini. Thinking about him and how hes received his sacking and how he’s dealing with it.
Why would you be sad for Maldini? This dude has an amazing life without much hardship.

He will be fine
