Roger Federer is the GOAT
What shamelessness? They should wallow in self-loathing like you?

What’s on that banner is objectively true. Inter were on the cusp of building something formidable when they won the Scudetto two years ago. Since then, they have downsized, and it shows. They have spent the last two years watching Milan and Napoli win Scudetti. They are now a team that fights for top 4.

I know it’s hard for you to admit, but Milan has a better project with saner finances, and Napoli are at least run better. There have been umpteen owners in Serie A who have lived beyond their means. I would never want to live with insolvency/crippling debt hanging over my head.

You clearly wanted to say this to me for a while didn’t you? Because I only said one simple line and I’m apparently a self-loathing guy that hates to admit our club is run better than Inter even though I’ve been sharing memes about the final and making jokes on Inter’s expense especially Lukaku memes. Jeez thanks. I guess I’m one of those ‘undercover’ Inter fans huh?

Why would it be hard for me to admit when I’ve admitted many times that I preferred how we are run? It was funny as banter but the notion that apparently being self-critical about some of our results or decisions makes me a self-loathing masochist guy that loves to see Milan lose is getting a bit ridiculous now. Now I feel like I’m back on Reddit again.

I prefer how we are run, but I’ll be skeptical and won’t be guaranteed of Inter’s downfall’s yet. I know they’ve gotten worse but I can’t bring myself to think that ‘yes they’re are doomed for next season’, I wish it was the case but I’ll be skeptical for now.

As far as my initial comment is concerned,

The reason is said that was because of 2 reasons:

1. We lost 4 times to them this season including in the SF. I’ve bantered Inter fans a lot yesterday but what Curva did is next level to me, a level which I couldn’t force myself to do that knowing we lost to them 4 times including the SF this season, something your fellow mod mentioned as well.

2. These guys made a banner over this but couldn’t have the decency to make a banner for Maldini who got fired disrespectfully by Redbird and not only that, they had to remind him in his statement about their broken relationship that happened during his farewell where they booed him. Amazing. Make a threatening banner on Dimarco, make a banner mocking Inter today but when we need to do something about Maldini, they’re nowhere to be found. Sorry but I’ll never respect this group.

I look at Sacchi or Michels as true revolutionaries.

I think his poor showings in the CL illustrates that once he just beats up on teams who don't have the same resources but when its playoff time he suddenly doesn't do as well.

The doping, insane amount of cheating with Barca, the history of racism just round off a pretty unsavory person.

I also am waiting to see him coach a team where he isn't blessed with the overwhelmingly better squad. If he can squeeze insane performances from a Saelemaekers, I'll be impressed.
Those coaches have the benefit of time, there's no reason to think Pep won't be looked back at in a similar manner. He is the most impactful coach of this era by far

His CL performances are obviously a fair criticism. It probably has to do with his teams being system-oriented and those types of teams struggle in a knockout setting. But he's so young I imagine he'll still finish with a rather impressive CL resume

His player development is actually the reason I think he would still do well in a lesser team. The guy turned John Stones into prime Beckenbauer to the point he was the best player in a CL final. If he can do that with John fucking Stones I'm sure he can turn Salad into something useful

It make no difference when he is calling to sign shit players.
Half of our squad are shit.
yes and the other half are good, so in ideal world you work on your defects and improve it. like you give more power to select the targets for Moncada or add a process where multiple approvals are expected to confirm targeting a player, you don't turn down the house and lose your only charismatic legend you have onboard and become unable to compete even with midtable teams who can pay the same salary as you are.

signing/renewing because of a single person (maldini) makes him literally bigger than the club

but alright bonafodder groupie, back to milan reddit
Again you have to read carefully, i didn't say he is the ONLY Reason they signed for us, but he was a leverage that helped players to choose us a head of other teams and it worked with many examples, now we lost that, in case you didn't Read the Memo, we don't offer competitive salaries nor do we offer frequent guarantee of silverware, so the advantage we had as a club was our elite history, which was presented perfectly by Maldini, so unless you are willing to spend like Oil club, you lost your leverage and didn't provide any compensation.

They're being investigated for countless financial violations, from Mancini's time to Pep--violations of rules over spending, I believe the count is around 115 charges?

Charges that would have genuinely hindered him from building what he did.

He's an amazing coach. But money is such a massive part of it.
Like any other coach in world football.

Buying Akanji for 17,5M tho was fucking great business.
Akanji
Julian Alvarez
Ake
Haaland

all great deals

but you saw the size of their staff in the CL celebrations it's no wonder their sporting department is so well run, they must have an insane budget

There are far too many to name past & present
There are a few managers better than Pep and don't have their greatest achievements tied up in state investigations for paying refs.

Apple and Microsoft didn't invent the technologies they made famous.

But there is value in being the one who can best express the idea to disseminate it.

Pep's legacy goes behind the trophies and you would see that if you looked beyond the OMG Citeh and Barca hierarchy cheated.

The fact that its almost compulsory now to play out from the back have a capable passing goalkeeper and your CB's should be able to trap a ball and pass it instead of be shit scared and kick it as far as possible. More teams now even the less fashionable teams are about dominating the ball instead of Mourinho style tactics even tho Mourinho style tactics are far easier to pull off

I don't think bribing refs is something to shrug at.

Ball playing CBs are nothing new, there are a few famous ones who played for Milan btw. People act like Pep invented pressing.

Using a keeper is a fair point though.

The ref thing and the CL failures (consistent failure) really sours me on seeing him as some unassailable figure.

Let's see with time what happens. Mourinho was seen as a locked in mount Rushmore candidate and now he's like a top 10-15 guy.

I would like to see Pep in some more challenging circumstances for me to truly be impressed.

Imagine not thinking Guardiola is the best manger of all time, when he made the premier league a one-team league.. A league in which the relegation teams can easily spend 100 million + on transfers.

Mind you ac milan and inter can’t spend that

“He can’t do anything without money”.. well chelsea spent historic 600, SIX HUNDRED million just to end in 12th.

Also I would understand if the players bought was already world class players, but none of them were. The only class player that all top teams wanted is Haaland.

No, I hadn’t wanted to say this for a while. Also, I don’t think you’re a “self-loathing guy”…just in this instance, you came across as someone who sees all our faults and none of the other side’s.

Mocking rivals is kind of what the curva are set up for. It’s sort of their reason for being. Self-deprecating banners work less effectively when trying to get under someone’s skin.

We could have lost to them 5 times this season and it wouldn’t change the veracity of the banner’s content.

You can post how you want, obviously, but a little back and forth shouldn’t faze you. Goes without saying, it’s never personal with me. Don’t take it (me) too seriously. ;)

Like I said I think he'd do fine at a lesser team financially

His biggest challenge would be international football because the players really don't train together enough for a Pep-style system to be implemented. If he could conquer that area then it would truly be something special

Regardless though I think for me he will go down as the greatest coach ever. His City run in such a competitive league blows anything Fergie did out of the water

Based on what I've read I think people are overrating him here a good amount

but I'd still take him

the team has a lot of holes and he's good enough I suppose

Revolutionary in what sense? the past 15 years or so of tactical evolutions have been modeled after his teams
That's actually not true. If someone repeats it in media 1000 times it still doesn't make it true.

Simply not true!

Rigging games is easier to do when your owner is able to monopolise the league with his oil money.

Yea nha. Do it with an average team. Challeng yourself. Then we will see who is a true goat coach. He is no where near the conversation yet.

Klopp defecates on him right now. What he did with that piss poor Liverpool team and transformed them into a ucl winning side is extraordinary.

I could never see poopy pep achieve such heights with Henderson and winjladum in midfield.

He has haalan best striker
Best keeper after maignon
Best midfielder in gundogan and de bruyne
Best rb
Best lb possibly
Akanji is no slouch.

The only creative element of his coaching skills was the development of stones as a DM.

100% we would be in midtable with poopy peptard should he be the coach of milan. Assuming he wont get owners to bribe refs that is.

What will he do? Tiki tooki taka with salad and messias? Giroud to do 2 touch pass lel

Put tomori and thiaw in DM

Back 3 or kjaer Theo and kalulu

Leao tonali krunic salad

Uptop giroud to do haaland role

Haha would be fun to get thrashed

I will say it for 20 000th time but this is a world of morons so it probably doesn't help anyway. Football in last 20 years DID NOT DEVELOP UNDER STRUCTURES AND PRINCIPLES INVENTED BY PEP GUARDIOLA. It was already all there.

Try to understand it, research and think. Look, see. It's just not true.

Of just keep reading the headlines. Like the rest of the idiots. Even Guardiola spoke about those things ffs.

If even this forum is now telling me Guardiola is the best then we really are doomed.

Come on. He got incredibly lucky in 2008 that he started to coach a team that had all the best talent in the world.

And in City he could spend as much as he’d like to get the perfect team.

Carlo won a CL with Milan in his first season where they invested. For Guardiola it practically took him 7 season to finally win ONE CL with huge backing and he’s suddenly the best now?

Guardiola is an incredible coach, definitely one of the greatest of all time but calling him THE best when he never really suffered in the teams that he managed is just not right to me.

Has he ever had his team been dismantled into pieces where the owner decided to stop investing? He has came into team that was in disarray?

I’m not saying he should be coaching a lesser team now because given his ability he has the right to coach any teams he wants but I just can’t say he’s downright the best when the circumstances in his coaching career has been beneficial. He never really needed to work his way up and face the early struggles because he was given the keys by Laporta so early in his career.

The worst thing is that United and Chelsea are run by fucking morons so people conveniently use those 2 teams as examples that money can’t buy everything to credit Guardiola’s achievements. If only Klopp’s Liverpool was able to get money to spend like United/Liverpool, we would be talking him as the GOAT and not Guardiola. What a shame. I hate Chelsea/United for allowing this nonsense.

No he isn't an incredible coach. He was an average player and is an average coach.
Alex Ferguson is another overrated coach. Spends millions and barely has any ucls to show for himself over 20 years.
