I think Krunic is underrated. He is not flashy but he is almost always solid, you can trust him to play the sensible pass. He has played DM, CM and AM for us and never been the problem. I think he deserves to be trusted as the starting DM in our new lineup, because we're waiting for Bennacer to return.

My love for Krunic has been created by Krunic during his time here. When all our midfielders are fit he will return to his squad player role and be helpful at that. And mediocre? He has been very good in multiple big, important games for us. I've lost count of how many times he's come on and stabilized our play with his physicality and his ability to pass. On his day he is an excellent midfielder. I'm not saying he couldn't be displaced by a stronger player but I like the idea of him and his experience in the team alongside new boys Ruben and Tijjani.

On equal terms I don't understand why people don't rate him.

I don't agree. Sure he has looked good in some matches, but mainly because Pioli needed to switch formations after an excruciating losing streak. We were more balanced with a three man mid, but I don't think that Krunic as a player had much to do with it.

Krunic doesn't excel in anything. He isn't a great passer, he isn't a good dribbler, his defensive contributions aren't fantastic, he doesn't have great vision. He's a handy man. We can use him from the bench, but I just don't trust him as our regista.

Its all good and all having a top end attack but if you have a midfield that cant hold or control posession it means fuck all. If that happens, expect us to yet again resort to long balls to bypass the midfield.

We signed three good players & we could add more.
Its not a matter of bodies anymore but the tactical approach in choosing & fielding those players.

Maldini, Gattuso, Kaka, Pato,
Maldini was the BOSS. Scouts makes suggestions. Director has the final say.

Also, read the comment I was replying to. It mentioned Furlani too. Is Furlani a scout?

Cdk was a moncada pick, no?
One guy is saying Boss was Maldini.
Maldini gave us Bennacer, Magic Mike, Leao, Tonali, Kalulu, Tomori, Tonali, Theo, Thiaw in this kind definition.
It's natural that all picks wont work overtime or already.

I'm already very happy with the mercato. If we don't make any more significant signings, I'm ready. I find our new squad superior to last seasons, even if that's based on positive expectations.

I think Tijjani and Ruben have been well scouted for what we want to do with the midfield.

Well done Furlani.

I certainly didn't expect our mercato to be this good. Management has really moved quickly and with purpose.

Sometimes I really hate the fact that we have a coach who wants physical players in the middle and who wants to implement that style of football, who are unfamiliar with the creation and passing game. Just disgusting physical football. :o

I want more Adli's or Tijjani's. Maybe one day, with other coach.

You're in for an annoying August and September, I guess.

Remember the early days of Pioli when Krunic was deployed as LW and as a box to box and he played like utter shit?
That first impression has stuck to people's perception of him.
Since Pioli came up with 4-2-3-1, he has been our best AM other than Hakan and the most consistent player in the double pivot other than Kessie. He reads the game really well and used to cover well for Calabria.
However, if we are serious about 4-3-3, I would like to have a more specialist Regista over Krunic in the starting line up as it is not a guarantee that he can translate his double pivot form to a single pivot role.
He does have some lapses in concentration which, last year were covered mostly by his pivot partner. Similar lapses may be suicidal in a Regista role.

Guys would you sell Bennacer in the winter Merceto for Arabs?
If the midfield functions well without him and if the offer is way above his market value (offers > 70 million) and if he is also happy to leave - yes.

It seems Musah is a done deal. I am sad about it, I believe there are numerous midfielders who would elevate our game more. Musah is great at dribbling, but he has terrible defensive stats. Similarly we have RLC who is also great at dribbling, but sucks in defending. Then we Reijnders, who is a much more well rounded player than both, but it seems the weakest area in his game is also defending.

Pioli definitely had a huge role in our mercato. We are going all out on dribblers in midfield, trying to be a fast paced pressing and counter attacking team. It is a great weapon to have, but I feel like we are putting too much focus on this one aspect of our game. I believe unfortunately we are building a quite unbalanced midfield, where all players are too similar to each other. Rumours said that Hjulmand's agent proposed him to us, but we were not interested. He is not a dribbler, and significantly slower than Musah, and worse in transitions. But in every other aspect of the game, he is better than Musah, so for the rumoured 20mil price tag, I wish we would have gone for Hjulmand instead.

So far, my excitement level for our new signings are something like this:

1: Chuk - 10/10, he is our RW Leao, really excited to see him
2: Reijnders: 9/10, great box to box midfielder, he will have an important role for us next season
3: Okafor: 8/10, he is that fast, dynamic striker that we wanted ever since prime Rebic CF days, the player Maldini thought Origi could be
4: Pulisic: 8/10, great player, can play anywhere in attack, very versatile. Wouldn't question his ability, his skills, my only concern is his injury history
5: Romero: 7/10, I have a feeling Moncada found a Kalulu like gem in attack
6: RLC: 6/10, I was really against signing him. If our formation would still be 4-2-3-1, I would probably rate him 3/10, since he is a typical box-to-box midfielder, who is neither a DM or AM. Not gona lie, the fact he is not non-eu now, and we are planning to play in a 4-3-3 made me a bit more optimistic regarding RLC being a useful player for us.
7: Sportiello: 5/10, free, low wages, good for the lists, and a better Maignan backup than Tata. Hopefully Maignan will be healthy, and we will never see Sportiello play in an actual match.
8: Musah: 3/10, for the rumoured price, he is a really bad deal, and one that I think will flop for us. He seems like a marketing move, and american Bertolacci. He is still 20, so has plenty of room to improve, but currently he is a worse player than Pobega.

Srs question:

Hjulmand is really that good or people just talk... I didn't follow the player that closely so... thanx.
It's strange that none of the big clubs have shown interest in him yet, if he were so good Mocanda would be all over him
