Not really, Lukaku is dangerous when he can pick up tempo and vulnerable if you can get to him early, thats why Conte had him drop deep at Inter.
So pressing him/forcing him to play close zo a defender is not a bad strategy.

Playing a deep line doesn’t necessarily mean that we give him a lot of space and time on the ball to receive, turn, and run at the defense. If he drops deep, we can always give instructions to one of the #6s to pick him up.

Pioli has played a high line a few times this season against top opposition with quick forward and he’s gotten absolutely torn apart. No reason to think that this is a viable tactic especially without Tomori.
