70M is a failure in what regard?
We got 2 seasons out of him, and he's a very good player on his day. Lacks consistency imo, and I don't think his motor is good enough to play midfield for allegri.

I love Reijnders and wish we kept him... But we set up the deal to pay the 10% add-on to AZ on 35M.

Base fee should‘ve been at least 70M. Everything below is failure. No excuses.

But selling miserable has unfortunately been part of our club identity for as long as I can remember.

In his few appearances didn't see anything special in Bondo, mostly safe back and lateral passes. Probably not enough to make a judgement but first impression was not good.

There was quite a few people here highlighting that bondo does not make any forward passes and then others were defending it like “but he’s a DM”

Also after seeing PSG do what they did with younger seemingly less expensive options you would expect copycats.

It looks like a move where someone looks at his profile of highlights and thinks we do well with wingers and Coman worked so we can elevate him too.
I could see him killing Bundesliga competition and playing in spurts in CL.

Curious
Less expensive???

Every player in that lineup is out of our budget and was out of our budget when psg bought them

Mitrovic would be our first player since Bacca to hit 20 goals in a Serie A season.

We’re turning our team into a mediocre Serbian national team. Not even signing the best Serbians either. We should aim for top 10 nationalities

Also our sporting director is Albanian, this is just morally wrong at this point

i definitely think we should give Pogba a 2 week trial under Allegri and then we can sign him if we like what we see. would be a good bet.

if not, we have Pobega anyways

Logan would be our most skillful midfielder by far. Low risk option, for free signing 1 year with option to extend is perfect

So, again... You're completely missing the point of lowerring the base fee. It's allows us to pay LESS of the sell-on fee to AZ.
Which is why the vast majority of the bonuses in place are very easy to attain, to make sure we get them.

You don't pay sell-on fees on bonuses. It was a smart move, unless you think City is getting relegated next season

Pellegati mentioned rabiot, and gazzetta is still strongly linking us with him:

The sale of Reijnders to Manchester City has brought in a great deal of cash for the club. Of the 72 million euros earned, a large part will be reinvested in the market. The French midfielder's contract with the French club expires next year, 2026, so a lower sum will be needed to purchase him: around 10.5 million euros could be enough.

The obstacle of salary
The obstacle, however, would be represented by the salary. In Marseille, Rabiot earns 3.5 million euros net per season, which, including easily achievable bonuses, becomes about 6 million. As reported in today's edition of the Gazzetta dello Sport , it is on these aspects that the club is working even if the player would like to embrace Massimiliano Allegri again.

With less than ten days to go before the start of its new Club World Cup tournament in the USA, Fifa has slashed the cost of tickets to less than a sixth of their original price for the opening match to try to fill tens of thousands of empty seats.

The game between Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami and Egyptian side Al Ahly on June 14 initially had the cheapest tickets priced at $349 after the draw in December. Thousands of tickets on Fifa’s official ticket partner Ticketmaster are now being priced as low as $55.75 (£41) — 16 per cent of the original asking price of $349 (£257).

Fifa had hoped Messi’s involvement would draw a full crowd to the 65,000-capacity Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, but have had to face the harsh reality that its new 32-team global club tournament has failed to spark the interest the world governing body had hoped.

- The Times

.... I wonder if the prize pots were guaranteed or "estimates", cuz looks like this tourney is a mega flop

it was a pointless tournament to begin with, adding more risks for injuries for these players

Despite his age, Modric is still very healthy: in the last season he made 57 appearances and played 2,864 minutes. And when he didn't play, it was mostly due to Ancelotti's technical choice, who personally guaranteed Allegri about Modric's physical condition

Gazzetta

This will also be a year on, the man isn't the terminator he is 40. La Liga isn't physically demanding.
He's an amazing player but let's not pretend he is in his prime.

Despite his age he’s gonna control our team. Playing once a week will make sure he recovers and on top of that he’s a free transfer that will sell shirts. Tbh would be good to find more free veterans that can cintribute and focus on younger players that have room for improvement.

Como president Mirwan Suwarso on Inter-Fabregas: “We have communicated our refusal directly to the president of Inter, who has recognised it with the courtesy and clarity that is expected among clubs that have mutual respect”. “For this reason, we treat rumours insistent on their interest in our coach as pure fantasy — hardly anyone would insist after such a clear answer. Especially a club of the calibre of Inter”.

Mega burn. MEGA.

Fuck we really got 'em w the Allegri hire.
