I'd love for them to go bankrupt but I don't think I ever said they would be. I said they've built their empire by betting and leveraging their future. They've done amazing work on the sporting side and as a result have mostly won that bet. I've also been very clear that the only way Inter the club will be fucked by Suning is if there was a legal obligation for Oaktree to pay them the fair value of the club, which some reports said they had to. If not, then Inter were the big winners in the Suning fiasco; they got the Chinese to finance two scudetti and two UCL finals and then piss off with most of the debt. What happened to them over the last few years was extremely risky but it paid off, mostly because of Marotta, Conte and Inzaghi.

Right now, we're going to see the start of the Oaktree rebuild. They clearly said that they want to downsize and reduce costs. That's going to hurt. It would have been less painful with Inzaghi still in charge, or another capable coach... but taking a risk on someone like Chivu at this crucial step might be exactly what breaks them.

In any case, we should only worry about ourselves. We managed to really fuck them over by getting Allegri early, and without any European commitments next year we should aim to win the title and erase the disastrous previous season. That's the only acceptable redemption for what happened. I would have liked a coach that could rebuild the team in his image for the long term, but it looks like we want to win now. They sensed the opportunity to do that and took decisive action.

I still hope we manage to keep Maignan and of course everyone else that's important. Theo can fuck off. Then rebuild the defense, get a few important midfieders like Modric and Xhaka, and we can really look forward to a great season.
