I think many people here will be suprised to see how much the defensive phase will improve if we get a few proper midfielders and a coach who can create a balanced unit. It will not be champagne football, but we'll start looking as a team again.

Btw sorry about Theo, still think it is worth a shot to try him with Allegri, but from a rational side, counting lack of motivation, responsability and running contract, it is better to sell now.

Of course, we are missing a proper defensive mf since that bastard kessie. Never replaced his position and Fofana is not that, although he is useful.
And on top of that we dont even have a good defenders and if thats not enough, we have offensive minded fullbacks.

There's no way we're bringing in Xhaka, Modric, Guerra, and Ricci all in one window. We still have Fofana, and we'd need to sell literally everyone else (which would be fine). I think Fofana can be great, so I don't want us to plan around him being pushed out when it feels like we'll finally set up a midfield that suits him. I think Allegri would appreciate him a lot. More than Ricci.

Modric is free, Xhaka is likely less than 15M.
If we're kicking out Musah and playing 3 man midfield, we have plenty of spots for rotation. Ricci is also Homegrown, so he, Pobega and Bondo don't take up foreigner spots.
