Any praise of Pioli after the Roma EL games is beyond insane.
I'll never forgive dear Piol's for making us Inter's bitch like that GTA dog meme, however, as we further progress from his reign and see all the accumulation of managerial fodder that passed through this club (gambles like Fonseca, established like Allegri, authoritarians like Conc), the sad realization is that only he made men out of this fragile squad.

As James Hetfield often sings, sad but true.

Only player who legitimately deserves to be banished into the shadow realm with no uplifting qualities IMO is Estupinan

Ever since his first showing the guy is way out of his depth, during the Chelsea training match he was devoid of all confidence as well

Nkunku has been a massive disappointment as well (his signing was highly contentious for the transfer price to begin with)

When will people fucking learn lmao
Outside of a few exceptions, if you are not a physical player with decent technical quality and football iq, you will die in serie a. Most physical League in the world for a reason.

In epl you can get away with being less physical. Not here. Sorry. In EPL you just need to be a stamina tard or headless chicken who runs all day. Otherwise ultra speed helps. Skilled players who are diminutive do way better in epl than in Serie a.

Perfect, haven't had one of those in a while

Agreed. Not saying Tavares is what we need. Ideally my choice would be someone like raum. But given the circumstances and our shit budget, he is ok for stop gap. He might revive his career here. Low risk option. Atleast better than fodder estu and ultra fodder barte.

One thing about Amorim for sure is that he will definitely construct a team.

He implements military style discipline.
So even if he gets sacked by December, we will have a good foundation to work with for the next coach. That much is certain.

Same thing happened in United. They are now benefitting from what he built.

Regarding the Leao tweet, Y'all are aware he's NOT calling Amorim a liar, but the new agencies telling the "story"?

If Amorim thought this, Leao would have gotten the Nkunku treatment surely.

One of the many things that I don't understand about this regime is why they leak the names of the players that are on the chopping block and why exclude them from team activities and let them train on their own.

It's not a good selling strategy if you demean the product that you want to sell which would prompt the potential buyer to offer the lowest price possible. As a successfull businessman Cardinale should understand that, unless owning Milan makes you lose your marbles.

There are basically two ways to handle these situations and no matter which one the club chooses, people will complain. There's simply no strategy that doesn't come with a downside – although apparently every downside only becomes painfully obvious once Milan chooses that particular strategy.

How many times have we had those endless sagas with players we desperately wanted to get rid of, only for them to reject every destination because they didn't like the club, the country or the salary reduction? They'd rather stay here, ride the bench and happily collect their wages. And how many times have people here said: "Fuck them, put them in the stands, exclude them from training and make it crystal clear they have no future here so they finally leave and unblock our incoming mercato." Then the club actually does exactly that and suddenly it's terrible negotiating strategy because now every interested club knows the player isn't wanted and can lowball us.

It's the same with the timing of transfers. At the beginning of every mercato everyone demands that we get our targets quickly so they don't miss preseason and have enough time to adapt. Well, getting players early usually means overpaying because the selling club has absolutely no reason to make your life easy in June or July. Then we do exactly that, spend early and eventually reach the point where we need sales before making further signings – and suddenly we're idiots because everyone knows we need to sell and can lowball us. Meanwhile, in those years where we waited, negotiated forever and tried not to show everyone how much money we had available, that was wrong too because the new players arrived late and missed preseason.

At the end of the day, the internet is apparently filled with so many world-class scouts, sporting directors, negotiators and coaches that it's genuinely incredible professional football clubs still bother employing their own incompetent bums instead of simply hiring people from forums and Twitter.

Question is, what is more probable- Gimi suddenly having motivation to be our starting CF, or having another mediocre season which would depreciate his value even further.

To me he seems like a player with minnow mentality, does not have that dawg in him unlike Jashari, Pavlo or Modric. Which is a shame, since I had high hopes for him after his impressive 6 months debut after January.

Seems to me like he's a big fish in a small pond, too soft for Serie A and iirc Allegri had personal issues with him, not only sporting ones. A move to a smaller league could make him explode again, and we would sell him to either Porto or swindle EPL.
Another year in Serie A? Gamble.

Loaning players isn't only a question of immediate benefit, it's sometimes a long term planning.

I see your point, but given how the majority of players we loan out every year seem to come back devalued and with another year of their contracts run down, I'm not exactly convinced that loaning them out is necessarily the smaller risk.

Just thinking, we went 24/25 games unbeaten last year yeah? We're fighting for the titie up until January, then 2nd place shortly after... Before imploding.

How's Amorim going to fair this season... Reading that first paragraph makes things really weird for the guy; walking into this mess of a club.

I actually feel sorry for him right now...

With Nkunku frozen out, he offered an emergency forward option, Santi's situation becomes a little more complicated.

We effectively need to source 2 attacking players, but will we have the money to sign 2 players? We could see Santi and Nkunku go on loan over actually selling them I'd argue. Both have massive question marks next to their names, and would be substantial signings to the clubs they may attract.

Santi staying isn't the end of the world. Nkunku seems easily replaced with a player around the 20 million mark. Which should be doable if Nkunku leaves, even on loan with obligation say.

Well you are put on the market already so it doesn’t really matter but yea any negative PR about players on the chopping block should be avoided, particularly anything related to work ethic as that could deter sales.

I always wonder who actually puts these rumours out there in the first place. I find it hard to believe it's the selling club because, as you say, we'd basically be weakening our own negotiating position. If we already want these players gone, why make our own job harder by spreading stories about their attitude or work ethic? It's not like we're trying to sell absolute fan favourites and desperately need some PR narrative to justify those sales to the fanbase.

The buying clubs would obviously benefit more from that kind of negative PR. But the idea of an interested club deliberately feeding stories to journalists just to drive the price down – well, nothing is impossible, but we're already getting into fairly conspiratorial territory there. It could also easily backfire with their own fanbase if they're simultaneously trying to convince everyone that signing that supposedly lazy and problematic player is actually a great idea.

I suspect there are often much more mundane interests involved. Someone from the second or third tier of a club's staff gets a little something on the side for feeding "insider information" to someone, the Twitter journalist gets a few juicy exclusives to farm clicks and engagement with and everyone involved gets something out of it. Win-win.

A lot of rumours in sports journalism actually originate through channels not too dissimilar from that. I know that first-hand from colleagues working in sports journalism here in Switzerland. Which doesn't mean every negative rumour is automatically bullshit, of course – just that I'd be very careful assuming every leak exists because Milan themselves strategically decided to put it out there.

btw the match is in less than 2hours, not tomorrow
I’m insanely envious you attended that game. Incredible.

My last game at the San Siro was the 2-1 loss to Napoli in the fall of 2022.

These 2 legs against ManU are probably my all time favorite Milan matches.

I feel lucky from having watched this live on TV.

Can't even imagine what it felt like being at the San Siro. ♥️

If we really continue the narrative of "Carrick succeed only because of Amorim's foundation", what former club legend has this club not buried yet?

Welcome mister Antonelli, I guess
