I wonder if they'll move Bartesaghi to LCB? Still think they are a player short in that area with Tomori leaving. Kush says they are going for a CB. We'll see who is right Kush or Moretto.

Technically we are numerically covered

Diawara/Pavlo KDW/Gabbia Gila/Terr

numerically speaking, CF and AM are where are are 2 men short in total

Naughty America when Milan won in Manchester and when bush was getting ready to invade Mesopotamia was the second greatest American cultural peak after 90s wrasslin
I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Our squad does not look like scudetto team. Musah, Cuck, Estu, RLC in the first squad.

True.
But it's only temporary.
I mean, Rabiot Moreira Pulisic and a new AM are "missing".
We still need 2 players at the bare minimum and ideally 4

If Moreira is right then a LWB is mandatory, as is a AM

If we can’t get a good AM, and no offers for Leao, I wouldn’t mind Leao and Pulisic behind Ramos

The biggest disaster by far thought is Estu/Bart at LWB, followed by KDW/Gabbia at CB

The Inacio rumors mean we're looking for a LCB, not a CCB (unless we're getting two players?). I said this before, my ideal scenario is we sell Pavlovic for huge money to the PL and we get a LCB (Inacio) and a CCB that can use his feet and is smart enough to move around during buildup.

On the left, yeah anyone is an upgrade on Estupinian, but it will be hard to get someone without selling him first.

Finally we need a right sided AM and a backup CF.

Still lots to do, and very little time left.

There is a reason why max won 6 scudetti.

Nincompoops here don’t know shit. Our management got him fuck all last season.

We already knew he plays a very defensive boring brand of football. So then why hire him and then not buy the personnel he requested?

The best coach in Italy looked at our winger-filled squad and decided to play a winger-less formation all fucking year, with Leao as a CF. Apparently that's on management too.

Meanwhile Napoli went into yesterday's game with basically only two fully fit CBs, with the others either injured, barely back or having just arrived. And suddenly Allegri discovered the 4-3-3. Turns out all we needed to make him play it was to leave him with only two fit CBs. Maybe management's biggest mistake last season was giving him too many defenders. And last night I already saw some vintage Allegri signs suggesting the beginning of the downfall has just begun: piss away an entire first half, create fuck all for long stretches and then get bailed out in the dying minutes by individual brilliance and a fucking massive helping hand (pun intended) from the referee.

They're probably still going to make Top 4 tho.

Hey guys, but you do realize Amorim didn’t say Moreira would play at right wing-back, right? What he said was that Moreira is part of the “attacking five” - il quinto offensivo. That doesn’t mean he’s assigned to one specific position, but rather that he belongs to the attacking five. IMO, Amorim’s attacking five consists of the striker, two AMs, and two wing-backs. So that tells us absolutely nothing about where Moreira will actually play.

In fact, as things stand, I have no idea where a large part of this squad is going to play. Amorim strikes me as the kind of coach for whom each player has a very specific position and won’t really rotate outside it. So in midfield, if Amorim wants to play a regista alongside a DM, he won’t field Jashari and Modrić together - he’ll play an actual DM, even if that means using an out-of-form Musah. The same applies to Terracciano. He’s obviously not an ideal player for Amorim, but he’s so similar to Gila that he’ll stay at the club, even if watching him will regularly make our eyes bleed.

That said, with Estupiñán seemingly closer to the starting XI than Bartesaghi, Chukwueze at RM instead of the Belgian, ******* Loftus in the starting lineup instead of some random fan pulled out of the stands, I honestly have no idea how we’re supposed to play without a significant new AM (if Moreira is a wing-back) or LM (if Moreira is an AM), plus an LCB, where we currently have absolutely no squad depth whatsoever, as this french guy isn't ready to play 1-1,5k minutes this season.

Ceterum censeo RLC has to be sold immediately.

Yea but management never bought him the players he asked for outside of Rabiot.

Yea but management never bought him the players he asked for outside of Rabiot.

And that forced him to play a winger-less formation with a squad absolutely stacked with wingers and Leao as a fucking CF for an entire season?

Look fair enough, I'm not arguing management gave Allegri all the players he asked for. They obviously didn't. I'm arguing that the squad he actually had didn't force him into that ultra-conservative 3-5-2 either. We had Ricci and Jashari for a midfield perfectly capable of playing a 4-2-3-1, no? We had Gabbia and Tomori as a perfectly reasonable starting CB pairing, with De Winter and Pavlovic behind them. Estupinan and Athekame had both played primarily as FBs rather than WBs before joining us. We had Nkunku who could play behind the striker, with Leao, Pulisic and Saelemaekers giving us actual wingers for actual fucking wings. And that's without finding out that Modric even at 40 is still the best midfielder in Serie A or factoring in Bartesaghi suddenly exploding during the first half of the season and Rabiot being added late in the mercato.

Was that some perfectly assembled title-winning squad? Of course not. Were there holes and compromises? Absolutely. But there was more than enough there to build something other than a 3-5-2 that actively removed roles half our attacking players were naturally suited for.

And look, I haven't won six Scudetti and I'm not going to pretend I understand football better than Allegri (I don't). But him sticking so stoically to that ultra-conservative 3-5-2 that laid the foundation for absolutely fucking nothing for basically the entire season is something I'll never understand. Especially against teams that couldn't hold a candle to us in terms of individual quality, yet were allowed to stay in games because we voluntarily surrendered the initiative and invited them into matches they had absolutely no business being competitive in.

That's my criticism of Allegri.

What about Rabiot then? He’s even less of a holding midfielder than Jashari

I’m deeply concerned if Amorim doesn’t see Jashari as a DM alongside Modric, this would make Musah a starter which is a disaster

He specifically said 'un quinto offensivo' and then clarified and said that in Italy the quinto means fullback, and to him quinto means winger ("I understand the Italian culture. The quinto [wing-back] is not a winger but more of a full-back, but during the game, we want to be more with the ball than without the ball,"). He didn't mean attacking five. He was clearly talking about the wingback position. Now, whether it's right or left, that's not clear. The only real clue we have is that Diego said he plays on the right wing in that interview with Milan TV.

No, he said "un quinto offensivo", singular, an attacking wingback, not part of a quintetto.

We have one or two diehard Allegri-cum-352 fans here. What's not clear is whether they'll become Allegri orphans.

Time will tell. Or rather, games results will tell.
