Rui is 1 of biggest flop in Milan's history while Kaka did great as soon as he arrived @ Milan so Ancelotti didn’t really have much of a choice.
When Rui camer 2 Milan he was the best playmaker in the world & he just wasn’t the same with us.
I don’t blame u since back then u were like ………………. 12 ? :)

I disagree with you.
Rivaldo should be the biggest flop and he is suppose to be the world best forward.
I dont consider Rui as a flop anyway.
He did assist a lot.
Inzaghi also score a lot more when Rui is around.

Anyway am I the only one not looking forward for Pato's first match in Milan.
I don't think Pato will be the future of Milan.

It depends how u look @ it.
4 me its about how much we paid 2 sign Rui is what really make him a bigger flop than Rivaldo who joined us 4 free.

I swear, the next warm-and-fuzzy story I read about Pato on acmilan.com, I'm going to choke in my own spit.

Rui Costa was instrumental in our UCL and Coppa Italia triumphs... so I don't understand how some could say he was a flop.

If Alexandre isn't the future of Milan who is?

Ronaldo? Inzaghi?

But we had to pay him for unjoining us LOL

Anyway I think the ones who label Rui Costa as a flop are a strong minority.

Rui Costa remains one of my favourite players of all time. He never reached his full potential, but he was all heart.

Am not bashing him.
But he came as “the best playmaker in the world” & he was never that with us.
Take away Nesta's 2005-2006 season & few game after it & him 2 didnt give us the Lazio Nesta.
I really hope he continue 2 play as he did in 2005-2006 not as b4.

It's cool man, I don't think you were bashing him and I agree that he was never “the best playmaker in the world” with us. But he was effective in that CL win in 2003 and at times was fantastic, despite the fact that he couldn't score to save his life.

He'll always be a legend to me because of his attitude and the way he carried himself and endeared himself to the fans.

I suppose the best way to describe Rui Costa is as a 'Cult Hero'.

Back to Pato, he might be good, but we still need another striker cos Pato will not be starting games continuously come January 3rd. We need someone we can use NOW!

Perhaps he never played at the level he did at Fiorentina... though to say he was a flop at Milan is just plain ridiculous.

And then thinking about the strikers, well with Pato there till January, I also thought it was unfair to get another guy.
gila:
has never fully met expectations, was struggling for form throughout last season, is coming back from surgery and continues the habit of missing sitters

ronaldo:
31. chronic health issues. milan lab know he can't play more than 2 or 3 full matches on the trot, if he can. is injured

inzaghi:
34. injured. tendonitis isn't something you shake off within a couple of days, he could be out for a while

pato:
a nobody. looks fragile. didn't impress at the u20 wc. experience in professional football -> less than a year. available in january

kaka':
unhappy as a 2nd striker

aubameyang:
not up to it

w h o
dare i ask
will be providing our firepower?

even in a 1-striker formation we could run out of options fast

"berlusconi, we have a problem"

So I was also thinking about the need for a winger, a wild card we can use as a surprise element, a guy that will help out in midfield and the forwards. And not only that, with a winger we can have so much more possibilities of different tactics, so that we don't end up in our main problem at the start of last season, being too predictable.
wingers?
supposedly incompatible with milan's style
LoL

we've been too predictable for a lot longer than one season
and i don't understand why our management is so hesitant to address the problems -
relying on aging and geriatric "wingbacks" with both defensive and offensive deficiencies being one of them

rui turned into a liability within just a few months, when was it, 2003

not only did he never score, he lost his passing, indulged in mindless dribblings and as a result became prone to losing possession

very frustrating
that year we lost the scudetto partly because of him

why would i be kidding?

LoL

it wasn't i who was spending the past months on this forum incessantly moaning about our lack of new signings

but i see people compensating for their disappointment
by elevating some of our more average players into worldclass status

maybe you're right
and making believe will make us better :D

in any case:
sorry
i didn't mean to disturb your emotioal healing

Gila hasn't met our expectations but still as ridiculous as this sounds, he was the top scorer for milan last season. So that leads me to beleive they all had a tough time. I think this year has to be better and he MUST make a mark in champions league or we may have to say good bye to Gila. I do admire his play I know he is in a rut but I wish him the best and pray he pulls through.

i suggest you get less aggro and more used to my opinion

you're going to be confronted with it a lot more often in the future

dude, you're not getting agitated over opinions - i hope

believe me, if i lightened up more i'd be indefinitely euphoric which is not the most balanced state to be in

i'm not some doom&gloom monger, just someone who believes in the necessity of evolution in football

you'll get used to me
