I didn't say they are shit/can't grow into fine players some day....but with those players as reinforcements we can forget about Top 3. I'd be surprised if we even finish within Top 5.

I don't mind signing Romagnoli, but if we're serious about returning to UCL then midfield needs to be nr 1 and nr 2 priority. We need not one but two proven quality midfielders(Witsel, Gundogan, Moutinho, Bender). A new creative outlet up front might also be needed.

I'm not drooling over Darmian. He's an okay fullback, rather good wingback, awful CB. He's good, maybe better than all our FBs, but he's not of the extremely rare fullback/wingback type that I'd consider spending 12m+ on.
It's not hard to find a cheap, solid fullback like Antonelli. It would be idiotic to spend money on a player like Darmian when you have limited funds, good FBs like Abate, Antonelli and DES, and pseudo-midfielders like Boli.

Soriano? Nothing stood out from the, tbf, little I saw of him. He could be good, but even Kucka gives you more guarantees. I know Kucka is good defensively. Soriano could be a Boli for all we know.
