I'm all to happy to thank Il Presidente for giving us the future prospect of football that is Gila, so that he can play along side the current best striker in the world that is Sheva. And in doing so he has given Milan the best attack in the world, bar none :devilton:

He is a good negotiator no doubt about that. He signed nesta and a few other important players. That why I was upset because I knew he could have done more to keep Crespo but had his mind some where else. But he made up for that by signing Gilardino! :D GRAZIE BALDY is right :D
With Parma's financial concerns, this time things were a lot more in our favour than they were with Chelsea ... I think Milan would've gone ahead and looked for a different striker had they not agreed on the same price tonight, but the problems of others went in our favour, what an irony :)

yeah true that. i must admit, but more credit for me goes to Gila for choosing up to us! NOW BRING IT ON SERIE A!!! BRING IT ON EUROPE!!! EAT YOUR HEART OUT JOSE!!! WHO'S GONNA STOP THIS COMBO NOW?

SHEVA-GILA!!! AWESOME!
I hate to spoil your pleasure but we should not celebrate before the season even starts you know ---> *Kyara back to her cautious self*

(As if I didn't celebrate already :D )!

FORZA MILAN!!!

From a Milan point of view I think Galliani has done a great job by getting Gila at that price. But I cant help but feel a little bit guilty because as we celebrate Parma have been robbed blind of a player they could have sold for twice as much. Dont get me wrong, I am happy he is here and useually wouldn't care if a rival club gets screwed over, but when that club is in such financial turmoil I think it is a bit bellow the belt.

Agree with every word you say.

I do hope Galliani + Co. are gentlemen enough to reciprocate the favour in one way or another.

I don't think giving Parma 24 million for a player can be described as "below the belt". It's a good price, especially when we were the only ones bidding and with cash only no less.

Plus Gila hardly gave Parma the option did he?

It's more the engineering of the sitution so that the only place Parma could sell Gilardino to was Milan, regardless of how little we offered. That is what I disapproved of.

Actually my opinions have shifted a little because when I was on the Inter forum* I was greeted with the following:

MILAN ROBS GILARDINO FROM PARMA

Then all the Inter fans go onto sulk about how disgracefull it was that we signed Gila for such a miserly fee, (i.e they wished Moratti & co had thought of that). So inlight of our good friends at Inter taking such afront I am kind of satisfied now on how things turned out, even though I think it was still harsh on Parma.

* I was only on thier forum to see if we had really annoyed them.

Finally this story ends! How long has it been since the first rumor?

Welcome Gila!

I don't feel as if we robbed him, this was the best thing for Parma, sure we could have paid more, but there were two options: 1. They sold him this season, and get some money. 2. Keep him, and wait until he is a free agent, don't get money for the transfer.

AC Milan have signed striker Alberto Gilardino from Parma on a five-year deal.
Although the fee has not been disclosed, it is thought that the two clubs agreed on a price of around 25million euros (£17.2million) for the 23-year-old, who scored 23 goals in each of the last two seasons with the Gialloblu club.

Earlier in the day, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani issued a deadline of Tuesday morning for the deal to be completed, and the Rossoneri confirmed the acquisition on their official website.

'The player has signed a contract with the Rossoneri until June 30, 2010,' read the statement.
