I read that not many Milan fans were @ the airport when Pato arrived.
Am really happy that the Milan fans r aware of the problem & it’s a message 4 G&B that the fans aren’t stupid no more & they r sick of their stupidity.
Am very happy with Pato’s arrival but ………….. when I watch other big teams I cant help but 2 notice that they edge us by far when its about quality or depth in their squad.
New blood all over and 2 teams is fielded while we play with the same team , same names , same old names & already without strikers.
Mark my words , unless we buy more players specially in defense & midfield , we will have an even much more embarrassing season than the last 1.
And by more I mean same performance as the last season only without winning the CL coz luck can smile @ u once from time 2 time

Hmm..... Milan right now will not buy world class player and sacrificing its player to the bench.....

number 7 would be the obvious choice for him. its vacant, and its always been given to an important player, and even if he isnt that right now, the hopes are defintiely there for him.

he's a combination of the two. he can operate on the wings, but also can be the guy who gets on the cross. With the right training, and patience he could develop into a Kaka for the forwards.

Kaka replaced Rui after 2003, can Pato replace Inzaghi after 2007??

I don't expect us to have as horrible season as you expect but I agree that we need more quality in depth. IMO our first team can still rank among the best in the world but if we lose any of our key players to injury there are only a few people who can step in and do the job for any important matches. I hope/expect our management will realise this by January and bring in some reinforcements in January as we'll have to replace 3-4 defenders for sure next season and probably get another midfielder and forward. Better to make some moves in January than have to go for a complete overall.

I'd take a young nobody over an old has-been any day. He may not be great, he may be overpriced, but atleast he has the potential of being a good signing. So considering the status quo of Milan transfers this is a step in the right direction.

don't trust goal.com. they still have digenaro on our list even though he's out on loan. and his numer(pato) hasn't been announced on the milan website yet. don't ever trust goal.com. its just about as reliable as a spanish sports newspaper

No one said we lack depth. We lack quality depth, for now its ok as its still pre-season and IMO we can do well until probably January, maybe even summer. But can you honestly say you'd feel secure going up against Barca, Chelsea etc. with a defence of Favali, Bonera, Simic, Cafu and Brocchi+ Serginho in midfield when Chelsea would have Bridge, Ben Haim, Alex, Ferraira and SWP + Mikel in midfield for instance.

Obviously we don't go spending large amounts of money snapping up world class players to sit on our bench and I agree with you that we shouldn't buy players that will want to start every match, but there are some areas where we need to improve upon, especially this is season since we're competiting in so many competitions.

With regards to Pato's number. I think giving him 7 will put a slight bit of added pressure on him and would draw too many comparisons. #14 would be nice since Gila has 11 already.

I don`t think it would matter if he has 7 on his back or 14 if we don`t sing a proven world class striker besides him.People would still look to him as the new sheva.I really hope he makes it as far as sheva.So good luck duck.

In regards to our squad depth all you said is true we need some quality back ups but we wont get that soon since our first 11 in the eyes of our management is godlike

The season will start & b sure u will more of me within few weeks.

We have more than 5-6 titles 2 in our grasp next season & I predict we will loose most of em if not all due 2 lack of quality players even among our starters.
If we can only sign Zambrotta then I wont mind having hope coz he will give us an active left flank & with Oddo’s right flank + Kaka from the center we should have a good attacking option while Janku can help our midfield since obviously he will never become a world class LB.

On topic : don’t care what number will pato have on is back as long as he performs.
Ronaldo + Pippo will always get injured & Gila ………….. is Gila so Pato should get many chances 2 play.

Almost all the players you mentioned are inexperienced and have virtually won nothing. I wouldn't call Bridge, Ferraira, SWP... quality depth more like overrated.

We have adequate cover for every position. In some positions we have 3 players + who could play in that respective role. Out of the players available on the market, they are either on par with the players we currently have or below Milan's quality. There is no point signing players for the sake of signing players. They have to add something to the squad and improve the quality. There aren't many players out there who fit the bill at this point in time and the ones that do either the club wont let them leave or they honour their contract and are remaining. There is also the January transfer market to reinforce the squad. May I also add that the market is far from shut.

Not to mention the primavera players who also have to step up to the big time. How big do you want our squad to be?

Dude I know were our players can play ..just make up a first 11 and see if we really got quality back ups cause we don`t .
