Pato was excellent. Keep in mind he's been out for a long time.

Dunga's Brazil was a million times better than this current team. Menezes is clueless.

I can't see pato having a lot of chances In Brazil, the players are toooooo selfish...Hulk sometimes passes, but Neymar and Lucas OMG, Very selfish.

I hope Pato can stay injury free most time this season, without Ibra we'll really need him to play and score goals.

He didn't do enough to warrant a dedicated video but that's because Brazil slowed down the tempo and were always looking for Neymar... Surprisingly Pato was being heavily marked leaving Neymar constantly open... Pato did move well and had a good header on target but was saved...

I think Pato was good today, specially last minutes of the game.

As i see he should move around the opponents box, last attacker. And he should just look to intercept some pass and score.

I also think Pato should not play as the final attacker.. his best asset is his dribbling, and shooting in motion... he should play as roaming SS like Sheva occasionally did when he went to the wings to create something.

With the resources we have at our disposal... I would play a wide 3 man attack of SES-KPB-Pato

I think Boateng must be more advanced, he has the best ball control in tight areas and the best physicality, Pato and SES are better in motion and dangerous coming from the sides, this is the lineup I am thinking of

------Sharawi--------------Boateng-----------------Pato

---------------------------Montolivo--------------------
------------Nocerino-----------------------Traore?------

---Antonini---------Acerbi---------Mexes--------Abate----

we clearly need improvements in Traore's place (someone like Vidal), Mexes (Papadopoulous), and Antonini (Estigarribia?)

This forward line also accomodates Robinho and Cassano... and Boateng would be required to either drop back in a defensive situation or to pressure high up.

Yes but is link up play is poor and his passing and vision is nothing special, you cant have a player like that roaming deep picking up the ball from the midfield, youd just lose it

He should be playing on the shoulder, use his speed to get behind the line and slot it home

Since we have 3 "pure" SS (Cassano, Faraone, Binho) I think this will determine him to CF, we would need a much more technical midfield to get away with playing two SS.

@Jivara this is what our team will often play during a game, Allegris 4-3-1-2 is not static, it shifts in various formations, the 4-3-3 scheme was very well visible during today's match

It's time to change #7 to #11. If he change his number, maybe  he can stay injury free this season. We'll really need him to play. :devilfir:

Not too sure what games did you see where it wasn't static. It only wasn't static as Ibra was too selfish to stay as CF and was stealing balls from his own midfielders, SS and CAM shifting to wings is basic otheriwse all mids are DMs. That is why Aqua didn't play a lot and that is why Binho and Cassano don't play together - it would fuck that static tactic up. Al tactic is as static as fuck and with departure of Ibra it can actually start working better but I sure hope that we aren't trying to think that Pato is a full CF.

I disagree about his dribbling. He gets eased off the ball, he doesn't beat his man consistently, and when he does his decision-making is very poor. The only time I'm impressed by his running with the ball is when he's got enough space to really open up his stride and use his pace (see his goal v. Barca and the one against Roma when he destroyed Mexes).

For me, Pato's movement in the box is his biggest strength, even if he still hasn't pulled his head out of his arse and realised it. Playing with Cassano might change that though. I can't see him reaching his potential as anything other than an out-and-out striker.

He needs to get into a game first. And for him to shine, Neymar needs to be on the bench.

pato played as a CF at the copa america with neymar, ganso and robinho behind him providing assists (no less). anybody who saw that tournament can't have a very plesant memory of brazil or pato's performance. the truz is he's always chocked for brazil in whatever formation.

If you watched the copa America, you should have noticed that neither Neymar, pato or Ganos provided him with assists at all. I am sorry, but from what I saw pato in the Copa America, I really enjoyed him. He pass a defender and then pass the ball to the open man. Sorry, but everybody besides Lucas Leiva struggled in the Copa America for Brazil's NT. His movement lacked sometimes; however, there were many times in both games against Paraguay when Neymar could have passed to pato but decided to be the hero all those times. Not to overrate our player because I thought Binho disappointed big time.

Now why Brazil plays collectively more than last month, sometimes it still shifts to 'let Neymar be our hero' tactic.
