Watching Pato lately, I think he's playing the same game as Balotelli. Free roaming forward, dropping deep and to the wings all the time. it seems strikers with technique naturally do this because they want to see more of the ball.

balo has 3 major problems.

1.despite having technique his dribbling is not his strong point.
2.his off the ball movement
3.his laziness/temper (it seems that he has fixed that or trying to )

if he fixes them he could be top3 strikers material

pato naturally had more talent than balo.+ his acceleration made him once in a decade talent.allthough i was a big fan of him i dont think he can regain his out of this world speed. so better look for the 'new pato' and better not fuck him like milanLab did with alexandre
