The kid showed nothing in the U20 tournament when i watched him. He seems like a solid enough player, but I didnd't see where all the hype is coming from.
Ya he is a good player but nothing spectacular.......thing is that since youtube exists it makes every player to look like if they were the ultimate football god

Milan 'book' Pato!

http://sports.alice.it/it/cmc/calcio/200728/cmc_111735.html

Milan have a back up plan should none of the BIGs come this summer.
Pato has chosen Milan over Inter and Chelsea because he would prefer to play with his idols Kaka and Ronaldo and also Leonardo played a good part in the deal.
But Pato wouldn't be able to join Milan before january because of his age since he's not 18 until the 2nd of september...don't know why that is... so old names like Cassano or Rossi have also popped up again.....the soap opera continues...

He's about 18. And it's doubtful whether he can adapt to Serie A cos' he hasn't been outside the South America, where the football style is entirely different from Italy, or Europe.

He can be an overrated early-bloomer, or failed 42389478243# "New Pele". I donn't want Milan to splash the cash on such a risky signing. Instead, I'd go for Sheva to loan him for a year.

you fuckin kidding? i'd rather spend all that money , than welcome back a fucking traitor! Sheva did its time, now fuck him. Who the fuck cares about a high class world striker that went down the fuckin' drain? thats what happens if too much bling blinds you, and if your wife puts you on a leash.

If we get Dinho as well, then i think Pato will have a perfect board of professors to learn from (Kaka-Ronaldo-Dinho), and eventually become like them.

If this means we've secured first option on him in order to get him either next year or preferably the year after then I'm happy with that. Hopefully we should then be able to turn our attention towards someone like Cassano or Rossi if we were serious about him.

No but perhaps by lying to the fans on numerous occassions about learning english and that his wife wants out and shit yet she is the first one wanting to come home... which is Italy hmm... we've been over this many times. If he came out and said he wanted to leave then I'd have no problems with it. The fact of the matter is he took us all for idiots and made up pathetic excuses which came back into his face when we won the UCL.

I would like to see them signing a overhyped player for 20+ millions.
Now they won't, we can do that.

Haha, Moratti is hilarious. For the second day running, Inter made my day. :) Yesterday it was Ibra who made my day by saying that with Chivu Inter would be greatest club in the world.

But, let's turn to Milan now. Emerson's agent Gilmar Veloz is reportedly in Italy and may be in talks with Milan. Also - Veloz is agent of Pato, so would that mean a double-swoop? We'll see.

AC Milan Leonardo ponders Pato's readiness

tribalfooball.com - July 15, 2007

AC Milan chief Leonardo admits he's keeping a close eye on Internacional de Porto Alegre starlet Alexandre Pato.

"Pato is hardly 17 years old and has played one championship season in Brazil, therefore it's too soon to pass judgment," said Leonardo. "However, he has widely demonstrated to be a promising boy.

"Technically, he does not lack anything: he is strong on the right, the left, quick to make decisions, moves well and is fast. Tactically, he is a pure forward and in Italy can also play just off the striker.

"Now, he faces the most difficult moment, can he make the jump to the big league? But he has all the qualities in order to do so successfully."

just looked into this boy now...

looks very impressive.. but being so young i dont think he would be an instant hit.. give him and couple of years and he will be a star, no doubt.

over everything. i wish that we could sign eto'o and pato... that we be terrific. :star: :D

There isn't much about Baptista apart from the fact the he will become communitarian(that don't sound right!) within a month and wouldn't affect the sure arrivaal of Pato in january.
Pato will definatly join Milan in januaury and the announcement will be made between the 10th and 15th of august....

I'm so happy that we got Pato especially because Mancini wanted him so much! Hahahaha

Where did you get the bold bit? And why have we got to wait a month for an announcement?

Same newspaper but you need to be logged in to read beyond the front page.
Believe me mate Pato is ours I'll translate exactly what it says:

The Pato saga resembles the Kaka one 4 years ago.
Milan are way ahead of competion has been confirmed from Galliani and via Turati and the officialization will come between the 10th and 15th of august.
Kaka' also came to Milan on the 16th of August....coincidence?maybe but Milan love historic resemblances and brasilians...
