He would be better if he would tackle. I have never seen a DM or MF that does not tackle at all or does it sporadically.

He has started doing it a bit more often now though, but after watching some of his tackles and serious attempts at winning the ball back in the last games, I understand why he hasn't been doing it more often.
Like when he tried to disturb Caceres:lol: got a yellow. Also got an early yellow against Anderlecht, which became the excuse from him when Allegri later wanted him to press more.

I prefer Juve like performances > high frequency of goals but no Juve like games.

He was splendid against them. Goals are a bonus and I hope he gets a few soon.

But more of the same please :proud:

Umm, yes you have. Noce averages ~11,5km a game(source:UEFA.com), which is pretty average for a B2B midfielder(Monto runs about the same) and IIRC less than SES' average. I've never seen him reach 13km, unlike with Flamini(against Anderlecht). B2B players like Vidal and Marchisio make Noce look lazy.

Yeah, Noce runs more up and down on the field than let's say, Monto, but he also spends surprisingly little energy on tackles, pressure(yup) and dribbles.

Thank you for this. Let this be a lesson to all of you: "I WATCH THE GAMES!!!!" is not a valid point when discussing merit, ability, or objectivity. Statistics are there for a reason and are pretty much always right.

Well, if you count his fouls he did against us. He has never learned how to tackle effectively, he's originally an attacking midfielder.

yet he was awarded as many tackles as montolivo and de jong :-/

Pirlo's a fine tackler, always has been. His problem is speed, he can't close down in space, but i take him over majority of our b2b players in same.

the thing isn't distance covered though it's useful. It's exactly where he's covering it.

for ref- Gattuso ran 6.5 miles acveraging during 2 legs of 2007 ucl. Which is something like 10.5km. It's not always how far you run, but how effectively you do it. (that was tracking Ronaldo fyi)

In nocerino's case... he's not got that going for him either

Nocerino played a great game vs Juve thats because he was in the right frame of mind, he was pumped and had something personal just as he does vs Juve everytime he plays them but he must really show that kind of attitude in every game because of his lack of natural skills he needs to make up for it with grit.

If I'm not mistaken, Gattuso usually ran more than 11km and 12km wasnt uncommon for him either(when playing 90 mins). Have in mind he only played 52 mins in the 1st leg against Man Utd and 84 mins in the 2nd leg.

It's not always how far you run, but how effectively you do it.

Of course

Not at all, why? I learned something that I didn't otherwise know.

Oh, ok. I wasn't sure how to interpret that.

So many people use the excuse "I WATCH THE GAME DEM STATISTICS BE STOOPID!," or some other unintelligible BS. You correcting my mistake goes to prove that statistics are quite important as my eyes deceived me. I merely pointed it out to everyone else on the boards to stop using eyes as the only tool.

Nocerino did well against Juve, his best match so far this season after his shit performances. But lets get something straight here, Noce is not Milan material. He should play in clubs like Palermo or Chievo. He's load of shit and i hope we sell him because he has nothing that helps Milan, ok he can run and fight for the team and open spaces, but everything else, is shit. He sucks with the ball, no technique, bad understanding of the game, mentality that can be compared to players in Cagliari and so on.

I'd take a player who wants to play for Milan with less technical ability than one who doesn't care about the shirt with more any day. Who is more talented on the ball, Noce or Boatang, no arguing its Boatang. Who's lazy, indecisive and couldn't give a shit despite having more ability, Boatang, against Juve who played better despite having the less ability, Noce. Says a lot, I love his attitude and determination (and beard) and that's why I defend him. Don't get me wrong, when Muntari comes back I'd expect Noce would be used more as a sub and rotated than started every game but I still want him at Milan

I'm really in disbelief with this place sometimes. Nocerino not Milan material?

This is so out of line with what a majority of supporters and fans (there's a difference) say outside of this place. I've heard it all now. Next I'll hear that De Sciglio is the next Cafu and Montolivo should win Ballon D'Or.

Are you off your meds or something?Since you referenced players like Cafu im just gonna suppose you have partial memory loss and forgot what kind of midfielders we used to have playing for us.

If you do remember and u think Nocerino deserves to be counted among them...:fp:

You act like the guy is our next saviour, while you can't deny he's just limited like hell. Noce became your standard of the ideal Milan midfielder, but that is just because our team is mediocre for the last few years. Get rid of players like Noce, replace them with someone who at least can give a decent pass and maybe we can compete in CL again.

When did I say Nocerino was our saviour? Like I said, this is the only place where I've seen people describe Nocerino as below par for Milan. Was he below par when he scored the second most goals for us last season?

I'm inclined to think that if the majority of people outside of this place have no qualms about Nocerino and the fact that he has such a strong following amongst people that actually go to the matches, then it makes me think this place is a bit delusional.

I'm not sure how someone "sooooo bad" manages to regularly feature for Italy ever since he arrived at Milan.

I think you don't understand what sarcasm is....
I also would like to know where I compared Nocerino to Cafu or even said he was in his class.

when people say nocerino is below par... it's a reference to starting. I'd agree.

As a squad player he's fine.

If he were scoring like he was last season, people would be singing a different tune. It kind of cracks me up how easily swayed people can be over goals. I'm sure if he were so bad, Prandelli wouldn't call him up.

maybe. I was critical of him last year when he was scoring though.

He left us very vunerable defensively.

TBH though, i was more upset about aquilani injury. Our midfield fell apart then. When we had boa, aquilani, noce, mvb, we never lost in serie A. It was only 8 games Though :-/

I don't agree when people call him invisible. He rarely shy away from the ball, he just is not a great ball winner neither a playmaker.
But he does good runs, he make himself available and track back a lot

No....most of us sang the same tune then as we do now. Really good substitute player who gives his all, good teammate, bad starter. I don't think anyone here would want Nocerino gone from the club unless a ridiculous offer came through. The guy works, runs, tries, and doesn't complain. He can play almost any position in the midfield at a passable level, which makes him an asset.
