Dida looks confident recently, this is a good news for us.

Milan will play against Bayern, maybe these 2 games will draw or each team win 1 time, so maybe we will have PK at Milan. In that time, the kickers are tired and worried, so Dida or Kahn will become the hero to decide if their team can win the PK.

I think Dida is one of the best goalkeeper to save penalty.

By the way, Dudek is very sucks about save penalty, last year just because Pirlo and Shevchenko made mistake, the penalties they shot are easy to save. But Liverpool players kick the ball very powerful and cunning, while Dida saved Rise's penalty ( that ball is very hard to save ).

I think Dida have been returned. He is one of the most important players for us in CL.

"Dida was then forced off the pitch on 67 minutes, with what looked like an ankle injury when the Brazilian climbed to gather a corner but fell awkwardly and Zeljko Kalac took over between the posts." (acmilan.com)

Yes, he was injured in this game. I think it not very serious, he will miss the Serie A Milan VS Parlemo, but i think he will recover when we play against Bayern at home.

Did you see the match today ??? Dida was so excellent, he had 3 good saved, which encourage our defenders ( I think if Dida saved some goals, our defenders will also confident and feel safe, so they don't worried and they can play very well. ). Can you understand what do I mean ???

Not very serious? His ankle is probably broken.

Thank god!! Any serious injury now could also rule him out of the world cup and thats the last thing he needs at the moment. He played well and had 1 of his best matches in a while!! Forza Dida...get well soon....:)

Sakes. That's what has me aggravated. If this absolutely had to happen, why couldn't it have been against Parma or Samp last month??

Just posted by Football Italia:

"Milan have confirmed that Dida’s injury is only a sprained ankle after initial worries that the goalkeeper had suffered a fracture.

The Brazilian international fell awkwardly 20 minutes into the second half of last night’s 1-1 draw in the Champions League with Bayern Munich.

The game was held up for a few minutes as he was stretchered off at the Allianz Arena and was immediately rushed to hospital for an X-ray.

Although the injury is not as serious as first feared, there is a lesion around the right ankle and Milan doctors are hesitating before setting a date for his comeback.

It’s believed Dida will definitely miss the second leg of the Champions League clash on March 8.

Gennaro Gattuso is also out of that tie after picking up a yellow card, while Marcos Cafu and Paolo Maldini are major doubts.

The 32-year-old ‘keeper had experienced a busy first half stopping an almost certain goal from Bayern forward Roy Makaay, then blocking a free kick from fellow Brazilian Lucio.

Substitute ‘keeper Zeljko Kalac took over and the former Perugia man helped Milan become the first side to avoid defeat at the new stadium.

Following his examination, Dida returned to Milan with the rest of the team last night and underwent further tests to confirm the injury."

Groan. *swears at computer screen*

So I guess Kalac will definitely get the start this weekend. I'm sure Palermo is just salivating at that one. :head:

I guess this was God's way of making sure Dida gets a rest. I know I've said it before, but when it rains, it pours. :)

DIDA: OFFICIAL A.C. MILAN RELEASE
2/22/2006
MILAN - A.C. Milan communicates that Nelson Dida underwent an x-ray at the Le Betulle clinic this afternoon. The examination has confirmed the diagnosis of a tibia-tarsal lesion and the absence of any bone lesions. The recovery time is set for the next few days.

Does that mean that he will be back in a few days or in the next few days they will determine the extent of his injury?

Well, he's definitely not playing vs. Palermo this weekend, because it was just confirmed that he (along with Inter's Julio Cesar) is not going to make the trip for the Brazil-Russia friendly a week from today.

That's good only because most of these friendlies are a waste of time and players' energy anyway.

I also take solace in the fact that both Juve and Chelsea lost today. :D :D

Dream Situaton..

Dida out for 2 weeks...

Kalac to replace the enigmatic Dida.. And for Kalac to put on the perfomances of a lifetime!!

Seriously!! Kalac must put on the best displays of his life for the sake of Milan!!

Nelson needs pressure . If he see's for just one second that his starting position may be at stake i can assure you that once again we shall have the best goalie in the world between our sticks.

For me Dida is still one of the best, he just lacks alot of confidence. Hence the idea of having Abbiati back seems right!

Forza Kalac!! Do your bit mate ;)

I totally agree with you. Dida needs to be shown that his place isnt secure, so that he works hard and regains his confidence.

How did kalac play the rest of the match btw..I missed the last 15 mins.

Nothing special...he did OK. Bayern didn't really threaten his goal.

Well looks like we have no choice but to get behind the man! I just hope that somehow someway....(maybe a fight for the number 1 keeper for australia) will motivate him to put on a performance good enough to see us trough till Dida is back. Its good that he will play againts Palermo, at least he will have some playing time and a chance to redeem himself before the big game againts bayern.

Irony, thy name is Kalac; hard to believe his first Serie A start will be against Palermo. :)

MILAN - Nelson Dida will miss Sunday's Serie A match at Palermo. The Brazilian goalkeeper has only sat out eight league matches for Milan and they ended with four wins, three defeats and one defeat.

2002-2003: Juventus-Milan 2-1; Milan-Roma 1-0; Milan-Bologna 3-1; Piacenza-Milan 4-2.

2003-2004: Reggina-Milan 2-1; Milan-Brescia 4-2.

2004-2005: Bologna-Milan 0-2; Milan-Palermo 3-3.

I am really happy that Milan played well against Bayern, but it was a very disappointing night for me because Dida, my favourite player, got hurt...

I cried a lot  and I can't believe that something so bad happend to such a nice guy, but I guess it was meant to be (?!)... But it is hard to see WHY??? :conf:

Honestly I don't have a lot of faith in Kalac, because I think he doesn't have enough trust in himself, but I really hope that he will suprise us, and hopefully, do his best... But NOT SO GOOD TO REPLACE DIDA!!!

I allready miss Dida, and this is just my way to say that his Croatian fans are supporting him and we hope that he will recover very soon and be what he is -- THE BEST GOALKEAPER IN THE WORLD!! :star:

God bless Dida and U guys! :)

i agree with Tati that Dida is the best goalkeeper in the world but he needs time to recover i hope he'll be allright for the game against Bayern. But i also think Kalac will be 'enough' against Palermo 'cause he's got much motivation to provide he can be good.

From the soccergaming.tv forums:

"As for the Dida incident... well I cant say I was disappointed if you're stupid enough to break your own foot/ankle/ and then spill the ball upon landing, you shouldn't be playing on this team. one way or another I wanted Dida to stop playing, and it's sad that this had to be the way... and it looks like he'll be out for a while... it's all on you, Zlejko [sic]."
