man. i have a friends who is obsessed with harry potter so to have something to talk about i strted to read the first book...and after the first page i was bored (this was the norwegian translation) then i thought maybe it would be better if i read it in english but hell no!!.damn i read the first page and the last page and didn't get anything and upon all this my teacher says:"hey, i've heard you're reading harry potter and we are having a project next week..and i would like it if you choose to tell about j.k rowling"

and my mouth dropped....but i never read the book again...lol
i just told her what i remembered from the two pages of the book and the film..lol
i'm glad this harry potter drama will be over soon...no offence to die hard fans
and i hope my friends start liking football instead

i read first 4 sequels 'cause i liked it, it took me a few months to read the fifth one, i already got bored, and the sixth sequel - i read first three chapters and gave up

its really badly written. she has no talent or flair just a great way to make millions. she is doing nothing to further the intelligence of her readers and the stories really aren't that great. HP is a fad and i feel serious pity for anyone who actually cares about HP.

I went on a HP binge 2 summers ago + ripped through all 5 books... don't remember much now but I recall thinking how stupid --not to mention predictable-- it all was, w. each book self-consciously "darker" than the last... *more* evil as a substitute for depth Killing off the main character(s) is a logical conclusion to this pint-sized soap opera. Can't say I didn't see it coming, LOL

Alright, I know its been around for sometime though

I do like the books, and though they're getting more melodramatic with each volume - and rather silly, may i add - i still find that i enjoy them

The 6th volume had its drawbacks but i have to say that it was much better than the 5th. However, i prefer the 3rd.
