Absolutely no one would have believed it.

Not true at all. I'm pretty sure most people could see his class and quality which is why it was so frustrating when he was consistently playing average to below average games for so long. We all knew he had the potential, just were wondering if he would ever be able to fully realize it. And fortunately for us, he is a glowing success story and is one of the few players out there who eventually has been able to show his quality. When I hated on Hakan in the past it was never about his lack of skill, effort, etc. It was about how average he was and how he just never showed his full game and it was likely due to improper use, confidence, and the team not in a good moment. Now since there is a great aura around the squad it's the perfect type of team for players to grow and that's exactly what he has done. Very proud of his development.
