TBH, I reall liked Luis Enrique. Roma had their off days, but when they had their good days they really played good football. Either way their defense was shit the entire season and something needs to be changed.

They need new defenders first, they also bottled it literally every time there was decent opposition. They have owners with money now though don't they? They've got a few good young players + DDR, add a defence to that and they'll be alright.

I think it is dumb to fire Enrique now, I thought that they made it clear that they were in a long term project (like 3 years) to build themselves a side that could win the league.

I think they should have been more patient and tried adding a quality defender or two and tried again next year...

they have Insigne coming up for them next season..if they could use the money from lavezzi to buy a few good players,they could do well..especially in defence..

Wednesday May 2 2012 Zampa: 'Worse than Calciopoli!'

President Maurizio Zamparini has threatened to leave Palermo because “referees hate me and after Calciopoli the situation is even worse.”

The Sicilians were furious on Tuesday night when a penalty was awarded in their 2-0 defeat to Napoli, as the ball ricocheted off Milan Milanovic’s leg before striking his arm. Under Italian rules, this makes it an involuntary gesture.

“Paolo Cannavaro’s tackle on Josip Ilicic was more of a penalty than the one they gave Napoli,” blasted Zamparini on Radio Radio.

“By conditioning the result of this game, they are also conditioning the entire tournament. After Calciopoli the situation is even worse.

“At least during Calciopoli the institutions controlled the refereeing system. Now they are independent and without any oversight. Instead of focusing on this, they go and see how they can punish a club like ours for stupid things with 12 month bans.”

Zamparini and Lazio President Claudio Lotito recently received bans over transfer market irregularities.

“I think the referees hate me. I am seriously considering leaving and would already have done so if it weren’t for the affection of the Palermo fans.”

Agreed. Luis is very talented coach, and if he gets the right players in defense, Roma can be more than competitive next year. In all honesty, I think that Villas Boas is highly overrated.
