And who can blame him? He's right to do what's best for his career. At Inter they have a better project and he's an important part of it. At Milan we have a non-project and he wasn't an important part of it.

He's not an important part of any project. He's a short term solution for Inter, no team in their right mind would have 30 y/o Cassano with a heart condition a guy that at most can play 60 minutes per game would make him an important part of their project, I'm even sure Inter didn't even ever told him he was going to be an important part of his project. That's just laughable. Hell I'm even sure, he prefered the role he had when brought to Milan...no big responsability.

I don't blame him for that eitherway, he could leave anywhere he wanted. I only blame him for talking shit, when fact is, he left simply cause we sold our stars.

He threw a tantrum cause we sold ibra and thiago

I thought the same but since he joined Inter he started most matches and is really a focal point in their play. Even if he's a short term solution, he's having a role far more important than any he's had at Milan.

And as I said I won't judge the Galliani comments because we don't know what happened behind closed doors and we know Galliani isn't a saint. Anyway as I said numerous times it could have been an agent trick to force his way out which worked.

Anyway it's silly to take these things personal, every fan learns at some point I'm sure. Players come and go, it's all part of the game. Their career is more important than fake loyalty that fans demand.

A bit unrelated but I'd prefer a player to always give his best for the team and move on rather than a player that sleepwalks his way through seasons and stays due to "loyalty". Loyalty to clubs is overrated. It's a romantic concept, but when one is realistic football is a career for these guys and they have to look after themselves.

here and there!
The reason Cassano left is that Allegri didn't make him feel important, that's all. It would have been logical to make him focal point of the team after Ibra left, as he was by far our most creative player. Instead Allegri didn't guarantee him a role, and Milan gave the number 10 to Boateng.

Strama knows how to perfectly treat Cassano. He makes him feel important, plays him even when he's unfit and makes him focal point. A guy like Cassano needs love and he has that at Inter, that's why he's doing well.

Unique talents sometimes need special treatment, like Leonardo did with Ronaldinho. Some of them are so flawed that you have to treat them specially otherwise they turn to shit. Allegri didn't seem into that kind of thing especially since he quickly got rid of Dinho.

So yeah Allegri couldn't deal with him and now Inter can, that's why he's doing great.

And we don't know what happened between Cassano and Galliani. It could be that Galliani promised him a new contract or something when he was out with the heart surgery, then didn't fulfill it, or it could have been just an agent trick to force his way out as quick as possible. But it was obvious Allegri didn't think much of the guy otherwise he would have made him feel important.

At least Interisti here don't hide like Rubentini pretending they only "calcio fans" totally unbiased :o

I never said I was just a Calcio fan. I admitted I have a personal favourite team and never claimed to be unbiased. Sure I have I have bias just like everyone else, but I never came here and made fun of AC Milan. If I were a troll I'd be here everyday laughing during these hard times for the club, but I never did.

Oh, and geeze, where did you get the courage and bravery to be an Interista on the internet. You must be a tough guy. I don't reveal my club because it would just cause unnecessary problems.

It's really sad to watch this Milan squad. Your team is full of underachieving and below-par players. Whenever I watch them it gives me flash-backs on Juventus team a couple of seasons ago.

You need some major changes, or badass coach at least.

Pogba agent – why the surprise?
By Football Italia staff

The agent of Paul Pogba says he’s not surprised by his client’s encouraging start to life in Serie A with Juventus.

Pogba won some rave reviews over the weekend after he came on during the game against Napoli to score a spectacular second in the 2-0 win.

“Did I celebrate his goal? No,” Raiola told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “I’m actually surprised by the general surprise…

“Paul has some great ability and he just needs to play games in order to gain experience.

“Juventus believed in him and they are giving him the right conditions that he needs. But let’s not get over-excited with the compliments because he still has a long way to go.”

The Frenchman, just 19, has scored one goal in four Serie A appearances since his summer transfer from Manchester United.

“Italian football needs to have more courage in focusing on youngsters,” Raiola added. “It needs to be a strategic decision.”

De Canio sacked by Genoa!
By Football Italia staff

Gigi De Canio has been sacked by Genoa after the Rossoblu threw away a two-goal lead in the game against Roma.

The Marassi outfit went 2-0 up inside the first 15 minutes last night, but the Giallorossi fought back to collect a memorable 4-2 win.

The defeat didn’t sit comfortably with President Enrico Preziosi who has today opted to show the tactician the door.

Former Sampdoria and Juventus boss Gigi Del Neri will replace De Canio – who saved the club from relegation last season – at the Ferraris.

Del Neri hasn’t worked since he was replaced by Antonio Conte in Turin during the summer of 2011.

Genoa are joint ninth in the table thanks to nine points from a possible 24.

Serie A Team of Week 8
By Football Italia staff

After another enthralling round of Serie A action, Dave Taylor picks his best XI from the latest action.

Jean-Francois Gillet [Torino]

The Belgian veteran was unbeatable and needed to be, denying Palermo on six or seven occasions. However, he was at his very best saving from Josip Ilicic and Edgar Barreto’s cracking long-range shots. Superb.

Ivan Rodrigo Piris [Roma]

Helped turn the game around and made two fabulous assists, the first for Francesco Totti’s opener and then a perfect cross for Pablo Osvaldo’s equaliser. Continued to push down the right and almost scored himself. Persistent.

Andre Dias [Lazio]

Was a rock at the centre and saved Lazio’s goal on at least two potentially dangerous occasions. The first from Giampaolo Pazzini and then later blocking Stefan El Shaarawy's goal-bound shot. Unyielding.

Paolo Cannavaro [Napoli]

Foiled Juventus at almost every turn and showed Fabio Quagriella who was boss early on, eventually forcing the Napoli born striker off. A real captain’s performance and did not deserve to be on the losing team. Solid.

Kwadwo Asamoah [Juventus]

Came in for some rough treatment from his opposite number Christian Maggio, but still managed to cause problems and dominate down the left flank and was always an escape valve from the midfield battle. Relentless.

Claudio Marchisio [Juventus]

Almost scored with one strike and was crucial in blocking Goran Pandev’s effort. Won the ball, and set up several attacks while he seemed to flow through the match with insuperable awareness. Influential.

Hernanes [Lazio]

It was another top-class performance from the Brazilian magician, who continuously menaced the Rossoneri defence with his touch and intelligence. He forced the pace early on and scored the opener with a little help from the unfortunate Daniele Bonera. Responsive.

Antonio Candreva [Lazio]

A revelation this season and integral to Lazio’s recent success. Scored a fabulous parabolicly guided-missile of a goal from 30 yards. Also set up Miroslav Klose with the perfect assist from the right. Decisive.

Pablo Osvaldo [Roma]

Came back from being dropped and showed his ability with two superb goals. His first saw him rifle home a right-footed volley from 10 yards out, while his second came as he headed home from a corner. Revelatory.

Stephan El Shaarawy [Milan]

Although closely marshalled he never give up looking to cause problems and would have scored if not for Dias’ excellent block on the line. Eventually rewarded for his efforts with a fine curler into the far left corner. Insistent.

Amauri [Parma]

A top-notch performance as he brought Parma much-needed points with two superb goals. His first a penalty that sent the ‘keeper the wrong way, his second an unstoppable header from Aleandro Rosi’s superb cross. Alert.

Special mentions: Martin Caceres [Juventus], Paul Pogba [Juventus], Daniele Dessena [Cagliari], Antonio Cassano [Inter], Cyril Thereau [Chievo], Esteban Cambiasso [Inter] and Luca Cigarini [Atalanta].

Joke! He was one of the least effective players on the pitch, probably Juve's worst player after Vidal.

Genoa sacked him for losing after a 2 goal lead. That's incredibly shortsighted, especially since he got them playing the best football and getting the best results since Gasperini left.

I agree with you.
The team was performing... It's a whole new team this season. Di Canio was doing fine.

It's no surprise though... Preziosi change the team every 6 months and manager every 3 months.

It's obvious that you don't know how to watch the game properly ... you are probably still at elementary school.

They almost defeated Juve and also beat Lazio at the Olimpico. Yesterday Immobile had a cold and still they were 2-0 in the first quarter of the game. Not saying it's acceptable to lose after a 2 goal lead, but presidents should have some perspective ffs.

Will you please teach me how to watch the game properly Mr. Agnelli senior? Maybe after that you could also teach me counting since I'm still at elementary school - 1, 2, 3, ... 25, 26, 27, 30. Am I correct? :D

It's funny though cause Gasperini was there for more than three seasons and Preziosi really was building a good project.

He become trigger happy since then... And it seems to get worse every season.

That said, Del Neri did a great job with Samp he is a good coach.

I think these days napoli accurately summarizes italian football. As in incredibly inconsistent.

Cavani, hamsik and lavezzi were all brilliant buys. Then they sell lavezzi. Got insigne lined up as a replacement. So far all good and fine. But what do they do with the lavezzi money? Waste it almost all on fucking gamberini, pandev and behrami.:fp: 26 mil wasted on players who arent bad or anything but surely they could have invested that money better the i guess some of it also went to buying vargas.

Most italian clubs just dont follow trough these days. In napolis case they got a brilliant attack, good midfield yet a defense thats mostly rubbish or lacking. + mazzari has some weird brainfarts here and there. Why didnt he bring on insigne for a shitty pandev is beyond me.

To be fair Pandev has been very good for Napoli, probably never played as good as he is now. Agree on the defence though. H.C, Cannavaro and Gamberini are all average too bad defenders.

When I read the title, for a brief moment I thought it was written by Melissa Satta in regards to her love triangle involving C. Ronaldo and Boateng.

Serie A side Napoli face charges of match fixing in 2010

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) is to open disciplinary proceedings relating to match-fixing at Napoli.
The charges refer to the Serie A club's 1-0 defeat against Sampdoria on the final day of the 2009-10 season.
The club, along with former goalkeeper Matteo Gianello and ex-coach Silvio Giusti, will now face a FIGC disciplinary committee.
Napoli defenders Paolo Cannavaro and Gianluca Grava have also been charged for failing to report the alleged fix.
A statement on the federation's official website read: "The FIGC can confirm that, following an investigation by the public prosecutor of Naples, the federal prosecutor will open disciplinary proceedings in relation to the Sampdoria-Napoli match of 16 May, 2010.
"Matteo Gianello, Napoli's former player, and Silvio Giusti, Napoli's former coach, are accused of violating Article 7 (sections 1, 2 and 5) of the sporting code of justice.
"Between them, they are accused of attempting to alter the outcome of the match to secure a victory for Sampdoria in exchange for money.
"[They are] also accused of having approached colleagues Paolo Cannavaro and Gianluca Grava, from whom they received a refusal."
A wide-ranging criminal and sporting probe into illegal betting and match-fixing in Italy has already led to several arrests and bans.
Juventus manager Antonio Conte was suspended for 10 months for not reporting match-fixing when he was in charge of Siena, then in Serie B, in the 2010-11 season.
