Watched im in the world Club Championship earlier and he kind of sucks. His team let in 2 goals and Kallon managed to beat him for pase easily. He is kind of slow so i dont see how thats gonna help us. We need someone young, stable with a lil pace!

I'm watching the WCC Final now. And watching Lugano play for Sao Paulo, and have come to the decision that he is great. Simply becasue he just hacked down Gerrard at knee height, along with keeping Morrietes at bay the whole of the game so far. We should definitely sign him ;)

Chill out everybody...Milan will not buy in January and that is a FACT. I hate Galiani`s politics about January transfer window but who cares. This season is over for us. We must try not to suffer and make things go like notthing has happened. My heart is in pain about this year and i will be CALM for the rest of the season.
I see only empty hands and i can say CHILL OUT EVERYBODY cos we have no strenght.

Watched the Sao Paolo-Liverpool match today, i must say that Lugano really stood out in tha game.....so i''m totally overwhelmed that Milan has bought him...he's really, really good.....

What i mystified me is that why milan refused to buy Cincinho when he has expressed his desire to play with the Rossoneris...and that guy is obviously the direct heir to Cafu.......well, i guess it's milan's loss and Madrid's gain ya.....

as roque jr and would be a waste of money

Yes Lugano is a great defender.
He is 27 or something like that right?? Well young enough to help our old guards.

I really BELIEVE that we will sign a new defender during the january transfer window. Berlu and Galliani cant stop the demands from the fans.

Berlusconi, Galliani and Ancelotti all say that we wont buy anyone just because they dont wanna see and hear some rubbish rummours who that person will be. This can distract all milan players and staff. so they wanna stay focus until the new year by saying that they wont buy anyone.

I really believe that we will have a new defender (whether buy or loan). trust me.

He is slow but strong. Preety much the same as Jaap Stam. I remember watching him againt Al Itihad and he failed to keep up with Kallons pace. Wont help us!

I watched him play in the World Club championship and he didn’t impress. Don’t get me wrong, he is a good defender but not what we need. Has pretty much the same characteristic with Jaap Stam and our current defenders. A physical player but is slow and often beaten by players that are quick. I remember watching him against AL Itihad (if im not mistaken) and he was beaten for pace on several occasions when he was up against former inter player Kallon. I don’t see how he would help us solve our defensive probes! We need some1 young with pace to help. Bring in Chivu and not Lugano!

Milan cool on Lugano
Tuesday 27 December, 2005

Milan have distanced themselves from the rumours linking them to Sao Paulo defender Diego Lugano.

The 25-year-old Uruguayan has been among a number of names connected to the Rossoneri as they look to bring in some younger players to their aging defensive line.

Lugano was one of the key men for Sao Paulo on their way to lifting the World Club Championship earlier this month and is expected to challenge Corinthians Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez for the South American equivalent of the Ballon D’Or.

Milan are thought to have agreed a deal to ensure they have first option on the player should Sao Paulo decide to sell, although city rivals Inter and Spanish sides Real Madrid and Sevilla are also interested.

But Milan's Brazilian contact Leonardo has played down talk of a switch in January. "Lugano is a player that, in a short time, has already written his name in football's history as one of the best defenders. He is obviously on a list of very good players, but that doesn't mean that Milan is interested in him and having negotiations to buy him."

Lugano was a guest at Kaka’s wedding and is a good friend of the Rossoneri’s tricky Brazilian, further fuelling the transfer speculation. Having taken former Juventus hardman Paolo Montero’s place in the Uruguayan national side he has inevitably earned comparisons and Leonardo believes he would have no trouble adapting to the European game.

“The position in which he plays is one of the main problems that teams have in Europe and I am sure that Lugano could get adapted to any European team,” he added.

This further gives indications that Milan intend on signing Lugano. Chivu will not be signed because i see renewed confidence in Kaladze (which i justify btw) as LCB. Diego Lugano is a young and strong defender. He may not be the fastest centreback but he makes up for it with his intellgent tactics.

This says that during Kaka's wedding, Milan have made important advances in the negotiation of the signing of Lugano. Draw your own conclusions.

I fail to see how thats gonna help us solve our defensive probes. The defenders we have now have preety much the same characteristics. He is a good defender but we cant just sign him for that. Our defense lack pace preety much like Lugano. We need a defender with pace to help us solve our probes at the back and not a player with the same characteristics!

Do you think we need another offensive midfielder more than a new defender??
We have 2 great players in his position,Kaka and Rui Costa.
All we need is new players in our defence.
Our attack is the best in Serie A,with 39 goals so far.
