And so he is unhappy with the way the fans behaved after the siena game? I never watched that game and we cant be unhappy with our ucl performance so it must be that one.

Ah well, i agree with him :D You cant name one team in europe who hasnt had a SHIT game (according to the posters, the siena game was really shitty) so we need to be patient and dont put on a attitude just because we won the ucl ( a few times ;))

thanx for sharing

My dear crazygirl, this mess is not just about the game against Siena, it has been dragging for some time now. Like Paolo said from last year's return derby it got worse but has really started when the Brigate Rossonere gained full power following the 'Fossa dei leoni' departure...
It's sad but true. There's only a few, a couple of hundreds, who control everything. They'll say 'shut up' if you start chanting or shouting because they are on strike for many stupid reasons (like freeing their hooligan mates and politics...).
They'll even threaten other goups if they start behaving slightly independently.
I saw a woman on youtube saying that a trip had been organised for a fan club to go to the Siena match and they got threatened, if they went someone would have died they got told....
It really is depressing how things are going and this is what the old Fossa was fearing and the main reason why they left...

“The Milan supporters? I was displeased. In fact I got very angry as did many of my team-mates,” said Maldini.

After everything we have done for the supporters and all the trophies we have won, we deserve some better treatment. “This attitude began in the derby last year. With the help of the crowd we would not have lost the game that day.”

Perhaps some of you bandwagoners and whingers should STFU and be grateful for once. Tools.

what exactly fans do that made paolo angry?

Well fact it Paolo is damn right.
When I watch Milan matches I almost ask myself every time why they are so quiet?
Well most of them maybe not want to hear it, but fact is our fans at home are a shame. They should think about Paolo's word and change their behaviour.

Paolo Maldini
La scelta, ovviamente, spetta all’allenatore.
"No.
"No.
Ormai noi giochiamo in trasferta o in campo neutro: mai davvero in casa.

someone could tell me basicly what did he said?

Man thats sad,if a hundred people control thousands ,there should be more brigates like they are on most of the teams.Guess allot of pussies there..anyway whats more sad is that the idiots who get in the stadium don`t know its a Privilege to be there, most people are not that lucky to see Milan live.

MALDINI:"Nowadays we play away or in a neutral pitch"
9/20/2007
MILAN - In the same interview, the Captain said: "It's not just the Curva that does not support us: even the fans of the other sectors are quiet. I think that when when they sing 'We have Milan in our hearts' then they must prove it. Nowadays we play away from home or on a neutral pitch: never really at home. It doesn't seem logical and the team does not accept this anymore

WTF? this is a strong commentary from the captain.

Milan’s performance isn’t as it used 2 b.
Maybe its true about the corrupted fans but Maldini should also know that maybe the fans r fed up with the performance of the team.
So first of all him + cafu + sergi should consider retiring allowing young players 2 come along + take the fans frustration 2 G&B + ask em 2 reinforce the team + rejuvenate it.
We did win the CL last year but we were a joke performance wise + in the real mesure 4 a team -- > serieA.

Wild as long as we win habibi and stay ahead of other temas who cares about the performance, i understand we want to see pretty football from milan but they are winning, the sooner we realize than milan does not give a shit about seria A and they concentrate on Europe the easier it will be for us to digest milans resluts in domestic league, i mean look at Inter:)

Milan performance doesn't have anything to do with the quiet fans...
We are the best team in Europe and achived so much over the past so if a Milan fan is not satisfied that what will a Real Madrid fan say or an Munich fan say or a Valencia fan say or an Arsenal fan say or any other fan on the planet earth...
A team is valued by the trophies they win and we are winning trophies so its time the corupted Ac Milan fans out their to shut it up and come to the stadiums and support the team with all their hearts...
Honestly its better to have an empty stadium then have hypocrit fans like that...
Forza Paolo!!!

There's no justification for being quiet.

Milan are the top team in Europe, probably the world. End of Story!!!!

Maybe we could have had a more succesful transfer campaign, maybe we should have beaten Siena and Fiorentina, but I'll be damned if it stops me from supporting my team properly.

IMPORTANT: Remember these words my friends because they are as true as can be . . .

These ARE the good times, there will be a time when we win nothing for a long while and play a whole lot worse.

PLEASE, enjoy it while it lasts.

Wild the problem isn't the performances, or anything near it, it's a more "political" issue (read Pupone's post).

I'll never stop believing this: Curva's are idiots. It's not fair that the rest of the fans can't support the team because of their lost causes. Of course, I'll agree with Paolo, once again showing how a true captain behaves, and voicing what's been in people's thoughts.

who cares about the performance
I do.
And believe it or not I prefer 2 have a team who plays like Roma & not win anything than a team who perform like Milan did last season + win the CL.
Our performance last season was a disaster & don’t let winning the CL fool u.
We r a team without ambitions & we r blind about our weaknesses & winning the CL just covered it & soon it will bite us in the ass.
I measure the team in serieA & not in CL since luck can play a big role in a cup like CL while wining the league is due most of the time 2 performance + hard work.

And if those fans r corrupted as Maldini + u say then u should b happy coz they arent showing.
Fans r fans & if u ask 4 em then u need em & if u need em then u better please em & they aren’t pleased & neither do I with this Milan.
U ppl r happy with the CL then so b it + enjoy & let me ask 4 a better Milan.

I was a Milan fan coz of the fantastic Football we used 2 play & never about winning trophies.

My points exactly!
Since 1995 till 2002 we won only one Seria A tittle and the team were wiping the floor with us in the Cl...
But a lot of people don't rememeber that since they probably started watching from 2003 and don't rememeber the bad days...
Like you said man these are good time since we are the #1 team in Europe....

But if they r then maybe Maldini should b happy with those not supporting the team.
I prefer 2 have 20 000 civilized fans than 40 000 with bad ppl.
What Maldini talked about was actually “supporting the team” & didn’t see him mentioning organized crime & gangs preventing fans 2 watch the game.
He felt the fans r being cold with the team & in that case am in those fans side.

He is talking about supporting the team ?
The best way 2 do so is 4 him + Cafu + Sergi 2 retire & that’s the biggest support ever.

Ok just one questions..What is the ambition for every big team when they start the season?
To win the CL and their domestic tittle and as much as trophies we can...
We are achiving those things so are we without ambitions?
So if we are a team without ambition then all other european teams are 2 levels below us...

Honest speaking, Milan is getting boring after Sheva left.
KaKa is the only reason now why most people would want to watch Milan's game.
We do need a few big name to capture the hearts of the fan.
Our transfer is boring to begin with.
I think Bayern is more serious in winning cup and league title more than Milan.
Look at the money they invest.
I understand that some will argue spending money doesnt mean more title.
But look at Milan now, our players are old, and how many titles can they give us?

The fans dont accept mediocrity

Maldini needs to calm down and understand the fans. We don't accept mediocrity. The CL is great, but a 1-1 tie to Siena is unacceptable. We have no offense and Dida can be a joke. I also do not accpet the 1-1 tie to Fiorentina.

The aging defense and lack of offense does not make Milan as appealing as they once were. I loved the days of Gullit, VanBasten and co. That is why I became a Milan fan, not because of 1-1 ties to middle of the table teams. Over the last couple of years it was pathetic how Milan could not beat middle to lower table teams. I knew the game at Siena was going to be a tie or a loss. That is what this team has proved over and over.

The team needs to perform to the fans standards, afterall we buy the tickets and merchandise. We fly to other countries for games. We support them, they need to perform better.

Stole from the italian section.

He first says that after everything they have given to the fans, they expect a different treatment, that this started in the return derby of last year. He then says that it most likely happen because of economic reasons, and power games, but if it those are reasons to go to the stadium, he doesn't know what to think. And then he says that it's not only the curva but the rest of the stadium that remains quiet, which Claudia in the italian section and Puppone in here explained well (a few hundreds shut the others). Most likely Maldini is aware of the problem, but he probably said so, to make the rest of the fans forget about the threats that small group does.

In any case if they want to express their disattisfaction with what we have, then they should do it with the management, not the players.

You know it starts like this every season…
You draw a game at the start of the season, people start getting all wise, attacking the coach, team, players, management and then boom we win the CL and they crawl into their houses with the heads down, waiting the new season to kick off and do it all over again…
So that’s what is happening now...
