He's such a narcissist.

It was never a great deal to trade Italy NT's no.10 starter for someone who has flopped at the international level waaaaayyyy back and was coming off a season with just 5 goals, plus he was excluded from Inter's first team.

Basically Inter were saying we will trade our garbage for your troublemaker (who happens to be garbage) + 7m... just doesn't make sense why we would accept that deal.

How exactly is he a class act? Just because he stayed at Inter for so long and combs his hair? The gestures towards fans by the players is one of the worst things in football... Zanetti is a narcissist and loves to steal the spotlight.

For example he didn't do anything noteworthy today but the minute the final whistle arrived, he stole all the cams with his shirt kissing shit. Others like Gargano won't get half the credit because he just does his job in silence and goes home... doesn't have to whore himself.

That's been pretty much the story of Zanetti's life. Stealing spotlight from others who do better by the gestures towards the fan and crap like he was a born Inter fan. Did Maldini ever pull that crap? No, and he was born in a Milan family with his father a legend of the club. What about Totti the symbol of Roma who is 10 times the player and 'fan' Zanetti is? Does Totti go kissing the shirt and sucking up to the fans at every occasion? Never. Even Juve's golden boy Del Piero never pulled that crap. And Zanetti isn't even on the level of these 3 greats...

And he's one of those people that always says cheesy shit just to please the fans. Stuff like "We're Inter, we're the greatest club in the world, greatest fans" bla bla bla "That was the scudetto of honesty" "I feel like crying every time my friend Maldini isn't on the pitch" oh COME ON!

Great player? A bit of a stretch really. He's a good player that maximized his talent by professionalism and work ethic. But he is NOT on the level of all time greats or even icons of any top club. A good right back in his prime... but he didn't even play for Argentina in the 06 and 10 World Cups... and Maicon easily took his spot when he arrived in 2006. They just had to find a place for captain Zanetti because he was too politically strong.

They put him on the right, left, midfield... whatever... he just HAS to play. If he was that special he would have been a lock in a certain position, no?

Why does high work ethic mean that he loves the club? He's a professional and I salute him for that. He gets paid by Inter to do a job and he does his best at it. I don't think that must automatically translate into love for the club.

De Jong isn't a Milan fan but he plays with his heart on his sleeve, because he's a professional.

Actually some players ala Zanetti HAVE to give their best every game and in training, otherwise they won't even have a chance to play. He's doing it for purely selfish reasons. If he really "loved" Inter, wouldn't he have retired/left to make space for better players?
