I wouldn't be surprised if he stays. I said months ago that if Fabregas leaves, there's a good chance that Nasri might stay.

Hmmm so we make a move in January or get him for free next year?

Come on Galliani, we can't miss out on this!

Bro, I have no idea where your conviction that we're interested in Nasri comes from. There has never been any hint that we're interested. We might make a move for Ganso in January, but why Nasri? He would be Cup-tied in January, and again--there has never been any indication that we're interested in him at all. To be honest, I have no idea why this thread even exists when we haven't been even properly linked with him beyond some vague and very passing speculation in the beginning of the summer.

Arsenal's Samir Nasri set to miss Udinese clash ahead of potential move to Manchester City - report

Frenchman is reported to have requested to be left out of the squad for the crunch Champions League play-off, so that his potential move to Eastlands goes through

Arsenal are to allow Samir Nasri to remain in London for the club's Champions League play-off tie against Udinese to prevent him being cup-tied for the competition ahead of his potential move to Manchester City, according to The Guardian.

The 24-year-old has just one year left on his contract with the Gunners and has been linked with a move to the Eastlands club throughout the summer.

City boss Roberto Mancini confirmed after the 3-2 victory over Bolton Wanderers on Sunday that he expects to wrap up a deal for the Frenchman, but admitted that it would be a "big problem" if he featured in the north London club's second leg against Udinese.

The former Marseille midfielder told manager Arsene Wenger that he would like to be excluded from the squad, and the boss is thought to have respected the player's wishes.

Arsenal have a 1-0 lead heading into their second leg against Udinese on Wednesday night.

lol WTF citty are really gona buy him?

dzeko
aguero-nas-silva
yaya-barry

??? That is lightweight.

Considering their current 442/4312/whatever it is with milner and silva as wide MFs/milner b2b silva AM is working like a charm (actually the defense still leaves holes here and there) why would mancini risk further unbalancing the whole system..........their defense chocked vs manure, adding nasri into the mix will just make them more prone to conceding.

Completely unnecessary buy, wont be surprised if he ends up benched. Was kinda hoping hes milans mrx. I mean what WCish left is there:/

Logic. He's the type of player we are looking for and his contract expires next year which means he will be much cheaper then usual. He also want's to leave Arsenal so is open to a move away. For us not to have been interested at all would be completely insane.

Did anyone have a problem with buying a cup-tied Cassano or Van Bommel? Besides, it's stupid to believe only what papers/websites are reporting. Just because we haven't been "linked" :-)lol:) with him does not mean we aren't interested.

It would be madness not to be interested in player like Nasri, especially his contract is expiring next year and discount for foreign ( outside EPL ) teams, around 20m euros I guess, because AW is more likely to sell Nasri to Milan ( or any other foreign team ) if he gets proper offer, rather then City, United or Chelsea and make them stronger.

I hope someone :g: :b: is thinking about this idea. :)

Logic? Really? Only because he's in his last year of contract and the type of player we might want? How many players out there have a contract expiring next year? Thousands. Is Milan going to buy all of them? No. One might say 'but we haven't been linked with them,' but it doesn't matter, right? ;) Their contracts are expiring, after all.

And Nasri isn't exactly cheap despite his expiring contract. Quite the opposite: he's very expensive for a player whose contract is expiring.

And sure, the fact that his name isn't mentioned at all might not mean much--there is always a possibility, after all--but it would be one thing in the beginning of the summer, but the transfer window is closing in a little more than a week. Don't you think that we were interested, something would have been leaked by now? It always does. And yet there is nothing.

And to be honest, I don't think Milan would want a player who didn't play a CAM for three years to be our CAM. I have trouble imagining G and Allegri saying to each other, "You know that guy Nasri? He used to play so well as a CAM in Ligue 1 three years ago. Why don't we buy him for 25M? Never mind that he wants to stay in EPL and wants a ridiculous salary."

I don't see much logic in that, and would be very surprised if we actually sign him.

wilshere!;)

City is turning into real. Such a not needed buy and nasri is bound to get less playing time than he would in arse, my guess anyway.

His job, wheeling and dealing players... He's not on a retainer with Milan, he's out for himself and will sell players to clubs that will line his pockets the best!!!

Binho and Ibra's transfers weren't out of some allegiance to Milan, it was because not many clubs were interested or the players didn't want to go anywhere else and the moves to Milan represented the best option... We've done well out of Raiola, but lets not think he's our friend

Now I am pissed. Yet again another great player at a position of need falls through our fingers. I am finally ready to say it...we are no longer a big club. We cannot compete with the best in the world financially and need a cash infusion. I hope Berlusconi sells a minority portion of the club to generate cash flow as this is ridiculous.

Well then, you can fuck off and start cheering for ManCity. We don't need gloryhunters.

If Arsenal do make it to the CL, I think they will go for Hazard. I think that we should be after him. He can play as a winger and as a trequartista too. He is the future and would cost around €25M I guess. But instead, I think our management will go for Kaká.

And when Kaka is gone, maybe El Shaarawy will take over after him?

You guys do realise that we bought Pato for €22M and he was what, 17 years old then? Im not saying that we will put €25M on him. Because I know we won't do that.

As I said, we will go for Kaka instead.

Pato was bought, because we wanted him, we needed him and we needed to step up, because he was inches from signing for Chelsea. And he was way way waaaaay better than Hazard is now

And there is a difference; We could have given Arsenal €60M, but in the end, Cesc only wanted Barca. And its the same case regarding Modric, he wants Chelsea.

Would now be a good time to point out that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is, in fact, a glory hunter. To break down the true etymology of your word choice. We do need players who hunt for glory, for championships, for silverware.

If you want complacent players, then maybe you should root for another club. I hear Chelsea has some openings in their fan base.
