boo-fecking-hoo.Silvio Berlusconi’s funeral took place yesterday and many well-known figures were present to say goodbye to the former AC Milan present. However, the Rossoneri icon Paolo Maldini was not present.
Maldini was recently relieved of his duties at Milan by Gerry Cardinale, who has different plans for the club, and that decision has seemingly affected him a lot. Yesterday, he even missed out on the funeral of Berlusconi.
A Milan delegation of Giorgio Furlani, Paolo Scaroni, Franco Baresi and Daniele Massaro were present at the funeral, along with several other legends. Arrigo Sacchi was one of them and he spoke to Gazzetta Dello Sport about the absence of Maldini.
“Berlusconi was a great president and a great man. When they brought me in, I said to him and his people: ‘Either you are geniuses or you are crazy’. They were geniuses. When I resigned, he continued to pay me until the beginning of my contract with the national team, without my asking. Maldini’s absence? For me, Paolo is justified, I don’t think he deserved what they did to him last week,” he said as cited by MilanNews.
It’s possible that Maldini didn’t want to face the current top brass at Milan, or he was simply not able to attend for logistical reasons. Either way, it’s clear that Maldini’s departure could have been handled a lot better by Cardinale and co.
The whole football world was there, but why didn't Maldini attend the funeral of Berlusconi, the man who made him "great"?
It seems that the relations between Paolo Maldini and Milan have been broken so much that the legend of the red and black club did not even find time to attend the funeral of the legendary President of Milan, Silvio Berlusconi.
The absence of the former captain of Milan has caused numerous discussions, among critics and others who explain the reason for the non-participation, defending the legend of the "Rossoneri".
The absence of the former player has made a lot of noise. The official reason is due to the fact that Maldini is currently outside Italy, precisely in Miami, but this has not calmed the comments and guesses on social networks about his non-participation in the funeral ceremony.
With Berlusconi in charge of Milan, Maldini and his teammates won five European Cups among others.
A correspondence of loving feelings with the club that continued for both even when circumstances forced them to leave the club.
We recall that the funeral of Silvio Berlusconi was held yesterday in the Cathedral of Milan, with a ceremony attended by many people and well-known personalities belonging to the various fields in which the former Prime Minister of Italy worked.
RIP Presidente! Please bring Milan success from wherever you are now.
noAm I the only one who really don't care and think that the mourning in here is incredibly fake?
the mourning in here is incredibly fake
I am wondering how well the mobile phone reception is in the heavens.
Silvio’s faithful right-hand man Galliani – who worked both at Milan and now Monza – would be urged to stand as a candidate for Berlusconi’s Forza Italia political party, filling the Senate seat that was held by his friend and mentor.
“For the love I have for Silvio Berlusconi, I will do anything I am asked to do in any sector,” replied Galliani.
“At the moment, nobody has talked to me about standing as a political candidate in Monza, nor about the future of the Monza football club.”
they'll set him up in politics...Mister G already got his next job lined up
He said that has stopped called him on his phone now that he's deadSomeone need to check on Galliani, what will he do now? I legit worry.
My favorite YouTube channel is Balón. It's short documentaries that are amazing to watch. When I'm off from work, I binge watch them.
The man who runs the channel just posted a couple days ago the trailer for his next doc.
