Personally I wouldn't mind either xavi or motta.
I don't think they are as bad as presented here

Cassano: "Who was better, me or Kaka? I was better all my life."

"Cassano or Kakà? Technically and as a genius, I'm always the one. Kakà was very strong when he was physically fit, a change of pace, but in dribbling, in the final pass, in genius, it's always me."

So we are losing Iraola to crystal palace? Dear god we have sunk low.
Well I cant blame him actually, Milan is a giant shitshow in recent years. Impossible to perform here.

I'm starting to think the fact Iraola hasn't said yes to Milan already means I don't want him. I want someone who gets their ass straight on a plane when we call. This is Milan.

Expecting a great or popular manager to join a club that has lacked major success, board stability, and a proper internal fix for squad rotation in recent years is highly ambitious...

Add a lower budget compared to other interested clubs into the mix, and the situation gets even worse...

Xavi would be an awful choice btw.

This was Milan, now we have become a mediocre club and I don't see how we could become great again with the current owner.

Seems like the instability is what’s turning him off Milan, can’t blame Iraola. We don’t even have a director. I’m sure he’s seen how the stock of other coaches like Motta and Amorim took hits, he’d probably sit tight at palace with less pressure and wait for one of the better epl jobs to open up. Sounds like Liverpool down the line maybe.

Not really a lot of set coaching options available. Motta was in a similar boat as Iraola before Juve(less epl hype but I’d put them both as overachievers ready for a bigger step). Can’t remember what happened at Juve, I know it was bad but who’s gone there and done well? If he can get along with Zlatan, and many cannot, I could get on board with that. Not exciting but why would he be worse than any other choice?

Xavi idk. He doesn’t seem very highly rated but he did win la liga while working through some instability at Barca, his team wasn’t as good as the one now. Players would definitely respect him. But I don’t like him as a person and I always found him whiny, not sure this Milan environment is suited to his personality. Also why hasn’t Xavi gone to an epl job yet? Unless he thinks he’s bigger than a mid table prem job and wants to wait for a big one to open.

Crystal palace isn’t exactly a hot job either, don’t kid yourselves thinking they’ve somehow become bigger than Milan. Their fans complain they don’t spend much and they’ve been selling all their best players, look at how much tension there was with Glasner(another decent coach), the fans and their board this year.

Hes probably turned off by Milan because this is his first real chance. Why go to Milan and risk failure in a volatile environment, lose the hype around himself, and have to settle for a lesser job when it inevitably fails? He can stay in the prem where he’s comfortable, probably excite the palace fans while still not having crazy expectations.

Xavi just rode on his past as a great player but he was a poor coach like Pirlo.

He had no playing identity and his Barça was bad to see and was dismantled in the UCL.
When Flick arrived we saw the difference between an amateur coach playing only on his name and an experienced expert.

It's not the name of the coach that matters but his playing philosophy and his compatibility with Milan.

They made the same mistake with Allegri, they said to themselves, it’s known that it’s going to work. Except that they seemed to ignore that Allegri has the biggest fagot of the existing coaches and the most annoying, destructive of the game but also of the morale of players and supporters. This shows how little these people who choose know about football...
