On the surface AC Milan are trying to smooth things over and convince Rafael Leão to stay, with constant dialogue between Amorim and the player and an effort to make him feel important. But in reality, behind the scenes, the market keeps moving.

Galatasaray have made concrete moves for Leão and shown he is one of their main targets this summer. They have signalled to the player they are willing to offer a big salary, but a deal between the clubs is still needed.

AC Milan will not drop below their €50-60M valuation, so every other proposal is being turned down for now. They want a permanent transfer, not a loan with an option, at most a loan with an obligation on easy terms.

Galatasaray are pushing hard but must first agree a fee with AC Milan.
