But I think our CB and LWB situation is so bad that I'd rather get CBs and a LWB and wait until January before I think about a backup striker.

I think our CBs are all poorly suited to this style, the only one who looks comfortable (Gila) can't last 90 minutes.

Anyone who thinks Pavlovic and Gabbia/De Winter are fine in this formation need their head checked.

We gave a Gila-less defense 18 minutes, and Torino in that time managed to score once. We limited them to 2 shots in the first 75 minutes, and they had 6 shots in the remaining 18 minutes. 3 times more shots!

Against a more prolific side we would have dropped 2 or more points.

An LCB and CCB upgrade are the LEAST that can be done for a stable defense.

Uffff what a highlight, honestly if we were now connected to him and i saw this i would be thrilled.
But at the same time i bet most of this is from 2+ years ago.
He really is a speed merchant and somehow he just looks and feels slower now, a lot slower. Before he would take on defenders for fun...i would see 2 players in front of him and feel like he has 60% chance to just cruse past them.
Also it just looks like he just doesn't care anymore.
The body language was always bad but he would mask that with goals, now when the goals are gone you just feel irritated watching him play.
And don't get me started with the defensive contribution.
His own countryman coach is sending him away with 0 games playes...can you imagine how bad that looks.

Honestly probably the best for both sides for him to leave.
In Villa he could get a fresh start, CL football, league with more space and a top coach.
We get some money and a chance to reinvest some money.
