we are talking about different things
1. did Paulo fuck up and does Gerry have the right to do what he did
yes
2. does Gerry have the obligation to make decisions that improve the state of the club
yes…
the 2nd one remains to be seen.
ill let you punch the wind on #2 before it does or doesn’t work out
Im not going to get emotional over this.
1. Maldini did not fuck up to the point that he deserves getting sacked. We were literally in banter era before he came in. He did so much good for us. Why are people obsessively picking his bad calls with Origi/Dest/Baka/Messias etc who were cheap and he had constraints in budget and ignore the good signings he’s made? Leao/Krunic/Tomori/Thiaw/Tonali/Mike/Kalulu./Bennacer and others?
Why are we ignoring that it was that he was the main man where his squad won a league title? All undone due to one bad Mercato? Not to mention he’s a legend and icon figure for the club who is huge for negotiations.
He did so much good work, we should be grateful to his work as well.
2. Yes and we hope it can turn out well. But I’m still salty at the way he fired Maldini and will always be. Our legend deserves more respect. I wish it was done with a bit more respect and less ruthlessly. I don’t want us to become a corporation where humans are pieces of business. With Maldini gone I’m worried about the human element and morale of the team.
We were celebrated by others in how we treated Ibra in his farewell and the next day we do this to Maldini. There are better ways to treat our legend and be more tactful. We are all shell-shocked and so are the players.
So I respectfully disagree with your first point. I don’t think Maldini fucked up to warrant a sack
