Actually how good is Thuram? He's free, so surely the EPL will offer him big bucks?

And Okafor, how's he getting on?

Any new Alvarez's kicking about South America???

But you're absolutely, we CANNOT go I to the season with a crooked Ibra and Giroud starting.

no real reason to keep him around. Even the supposed leader effect has worn off since he's injured so much

Kamada and Loftus Cheek links don’t inspire a ton of confidence, but I guess you have to look at it like this:

Is Kamada an improvement over Brahim Diaz assuming we don’t buy him? @Samaldinho please give me your thoughts

Is Loftus Cheek an upgrade over Bakayoko, who he would presumably replace in the squad? I don’t know, I assume he can’t be worse given the fact Bakayoko wasn’t allowed to play more than 15 matches lol.

The Bakayoko deal is honestly one of the dumbest deals Maldini has done. What a waste of space and money.
Well the #1 thing Milan needs to do this summer is upgrade the technical and physical levels of this squad, both these players accomplish that at a low cost. Kamada is free and Loftus Cheek has 1 year left on his deal so he'll be 10-20m

The baka comparison is pretty stupid, he was obviously washed at his Napoli stint even. I don't even want to think of the rationale behind the move. imo Loftus Cheek probably walks in and becomes the best midfielder in the team unless Tonali makes some improvements. He already bossed around Milan's midfield when they played Chelsea

Kamada I'm not a huge fan of but if the decision is between spending 20m on Brahim or Kamada on a free, I'll take Kamada

The team needs a revolution in midfield and attack with 3-5 new players. We should expect more deals like this

I am not sold on Thuram and I asked my German friend who follows bundesliga and he doesn't like him either. The impression I get is that he is not a real CF. When I asked him about Kolo Muani he was full of praise.

Okafor is another good option. I had a quick look at the most valuable CFs on transfermarkt and the list is underwhelming to say the least. There are a lot of young names who still haven't established themselves as top CFs.

From the names there I would try for one of Elye Wahi, Okafor, Hojlund, Kolo Muani and I assume we will need around 40m to lure one of them.

We will also have to evaluate Girouds fitness because it's so important to have a veteran CF around. Look at Dzeko at Inter, he offers something different to Lukaku, Lautaro and Correa. Maybe they are also considering CdK as an option at CF also.

Since we usually play with just 1 CF, I think it would be ok to go ahead with Giroud, CdK, and a new CF (young gun or Benzema).

Then we can turn our focus on signing the player who will deliver the assist to these CFs.

RLC has an eerily similar physique and playing style to SMS albeit with practically ZERO goal contribution (just 5 assists in last 3 EPL seasons). Therefore, we know that management are studying this profile carefully.

Just go out and get the real thing instead of the cheap knock-off which may/may not work out.

Fair enough but dumpster diving should be restricted to players who have a high probability of succeeding and making a difference. For example, Greenwood is a future top player and an outcast at Man u and is now being linked to Juve whereas Ndicka was one of the best CBs in Germany and is about to join Roma for nothing. However, RLC is a rotational player at Chelsea and very inconsistent and I don't want to spend another season or two finding out whether he's suited to Serie A like CDK, Vranckx + Adli (hell even Brahim too).

Also, it doesn't inspire confidence that we're only interested in Kamada + RLC because they're free (RLC has 1 year left) and passed up Dybala on the same basis last summer. In fact, it speaks of a confused management desperately trying to rectify their previous mistake with a vastly inferior player.

Last summer management were desperately confused.

Just look at how ALL our transfers dragged on and on, coinciding with the RedBird takeover.

If we had stuff in order we'd have Alvarez and Enzo potentially, but we don't. Then we headed out bets on Sanchez and CDK and we all know how that turned out.

I think a lot of what we're discussing is paper talk, but Kamada could turn out good, similarly Cheek... Any of these cheap players shouldn't be our starters where possible, but mahe sense dependant on budget for the summer. And that's yet to be decided.

If we get Kamada I'm looking forward to grabbing his name on a Japan jersey, I'm going to Japan for my 50th in 2026... All the whisky lol, just think Lost In Translation but with a Scottish guy haha.

50th? Lol dude I thought you were in your 20s haha (take that as a compliment pal) :)

Yeah sorry to be a pessimist (I HATE typing like that) but I remember posting last year to take Dybala > CDK, pass on Florenzi + Messias, sell Pobega etc. and management did the complete opposite so I'm getting a case of deja vu. Also, like you mentioned, we always SEEM to be linked to plenty of top players e.g. Dybala > CDK, Muani > Origi, Enzo > Sanchez etc but MMM consistently made the wrong call last summer so it doesn't inspire confidence.

Anyway, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Enough negativity from me for one evening!

Its so funny that Napoli are currently sitting at 83 points (possibly 92 if they win all their 3 reamining games) while we won Scudetto last year with 86 ..and people would say we had a lucky season BLAH BLAH BLAH. Well does that mean that Napoli was not such an amazing team but they were lucky or what ?

EDIT1 - Kvaraskhtlia or however you spell his name has 2G/1A in his last 17 matches (since februrary) and they were saying he is better than LEAO LOL

Napoli is the only team in Serie A this season that set a pace worthy of a title contender and therefore deservedly won the title. At times their pace was even so strong it looked like they were going to break the all time league record. However once it became apparent that no one behind them would be even close to challenge them I guess it's also normal that they relaxed a bit, even if it's only unknowingly, and so they'll end up more or less where we ended up last season pointwise. It would have been another story if there was at least one team with similar pace as them and pushing them until the last day of the season to a new league record, I'm sure of that.

Besides them every team behind Napoli tho has been shit. Whoever says Milan won the title because the competition was weaker last season is just plain wrong, that's not even debatable  it's actually ridicolous how weak the top table of Serie A has been this year, at least domestically. I mean with all our disasters we could still end up in CL, that's how weak the competition has been this year

Loftus Cheek is a solid player but that's it. Box to box runner that can give you strength. But Milan needs TECHNICAL QUALITY!!!

Ffs how is it not obvious? We need a cm that can play at the top level vs pressing, a metronom. We need a player like Kovacic.

Then a creative and intelligent player on the rw and then a cf that is modern.

Not another 4/5 runners for counters and endless pressing. That's why Pioli must go.

If RB doesn't put the money on the table this summer we are in for a rough ride boyz.

Not talking about which player is better - I think that was settled after Origi kept stinking it up - I'm referring to the cost implications. Most of us thought Dybala was costing them much more unless the growth decree is not a factor (ignored by the report) and then Accounting guys win that point.

Wild in all his glory still got the most important bet wrong - Divock the dud
But even that I remember saying their points didn’t makes sense since origi would cost us around 20million. But then they tried to pull the injury card and said that he fits pioli’s tactics perfectly.

They Said that I dont know better than maldini and massaro :head:
