Everyone is saying rw. But who. Pina? Ascenscio ? Who?
I liked the young South Americans but admittedly that would be another gamble as both seemed pass first and we would also need a strong starting striker.

I still think getting a mid starter is more important because we have real issues exposing our defence and stopping the opposition.

The point is that the most likely outcome is that we win two and draw one. If that happens and Roma win all theirs, then it’s goal difference. My point was that it makes sense to try and score some goals, meaning if we’re up two we shouldn’t let up we should go for more.
My brother, that’s not impossible. It’s Even desirable. Hell, 3 wins even… but how is that “the most likely outcome” ?.
Based on what? Our great for or great Ability to beat bottom of the table teams?
At some point we need to use a bit of reality to educate our analysis.

I’ve always thought that Adli’s best position is @ CM/DM and here he is facing off against Tonali where he doesn’t put a foot wrong.

RedBird need to hold Pioli to account for not using this player as he could’ve gained us a few extra points plus even Stevie Wonder can see that he’s more talented than Pobega + Krunic combined :fp:

Adli will have a more successful career than Bin-Nassr if given the chance…he’s the real deal and solid as a rock upstairs.

I know but I was specifically looking for a video where he played deeper in midfield and chose this one because he’s facing off against Sandro. Also, there’s another video from last season where he owned Renato Sanches too.

Regardless, he’s looked good whenever Pioli’s used him so he absolutely deserves more playing time.

Which at least originally was the plan. Unlike Giroud he's here on a multi-year-contract, isn't he? His contract expires 2026. Whether or not he can (will) be sold this summer is to be seen.

Carlo "voices of frictions between Leao and Maldini and Maldini storming the place" Laudisa

Never ever put any weight in that old farts words 😉

Just release Oli and Ibra, with thanks and love, but we need to move forward... Hell get a decent CAM and a decent RW and play Colombo if needed.

Just no more 34/35+ forwards, please... That's said with love, they've done their part, let's look to the future, PLEASE.

I would like to see a statement as to why we haven't seen much of him. Pioli has given many young players proper chances, I wonder what is the actual reason we seen little of adli.

Why on earth would you think that
It's Sampdoria, worst team in the league by far

Plenty of injuries in attack and midfield

Brahim is shit

Adli looked great his last appearance

under most circumstances a player like him would start

My biggest problem with Suso has always been his efficiency.

For him to be effective, he demands the ball to do his thing while rest of the team watches, sort of like Leao but nowhere as dominant as he doesn’t have much pace. This is why despite being our “focal point”, he’s never scored or assisted in double digits. And sort of a callback to panaches point yesterday, there was always someone who outscored Suso during his time here (if we were to use that as a bench mark for “during banter era”). So the idea that he “carried the team” is a bit false if you compare his stats with those of a mid-table carry the club player like Berardi.

Berardi on the other hand, despite being slow is always moving into space to receive the ball, which is why he’s a lot more involved in inter-plays and sometimes even roams to the other side. Berardi stats has also been significantly more impressive compared to Suso’s. That’s why people are suggesting him.

Now in terms of individual skill and class in terms of crosses and striking the ball, 200% Suso would be an upgrade over what we have and is still the better footballer (though Salads close control has seen huge improvements).

Every time a non fast winger is suggested the lazy suso comparison is brought up. I tried to tell people this last summer, exactly what you said.

Suso is ball dominant and he also just doesn’t move around a lot. He doesn’t get in behind, not much link up, he needs and wants to play on an island. And our team at the time encouraged this, it was a get behind the ball and let Hakan/Suso spam cross from the wing system. Anyone whos ever watched Sassuolo knows they are much more fluid than that, they’re shifty on the ball, they press, they look for transition play. Berardi knows how to play in that style.

Berardi moves better than suso ever did, has way better link up and interchanging, and I think(not certain) much better ball recovery stats. And then like you said, just way better stats for a lower side. He is a good not great player, he’s aging and has a ceiling so he’s probably not the player we should be going for. But we don’t need to be scared of this build of player. A highly technical player that still knows how to move is always welcome, fast or not. People also need to realize we cannot and will not play a Leao type player on the right. It wouldn’t work as is.

This guy is deadlier than Osemen, he could come in cheaply too.

If Messias deserves a movie this guy needs a cinematic universe

I like the Scamacca links

It's hard to get a player with his technical ability at that size, a loan + option for him would be fantastic

These prices are way too low. Udinese will never give Samardzic for that price, speaking of Parisi he wants to be the national team's starting LB, no way he comes here to sit on the bench 85% of the games
I agree that those prices are low especially for Samardzic who I think will command around a 20 million fee but Parisi if he came here would start about 25 games if properly used. We have played almost 60 competitive games this season. No reason Theo can’t play 35 and him 25.

Theo has been so much overplayed and it has reduced his effectiveness and we also don’t have a good choice to replace him in a serious league or champions league match. Even he needs competition to stay on his toes

I did say we need an upgrade on Bennacer and he’s out for the rest of the year :o

We need technical players who can pass and Ceballos is an instant upgrade over everyone else in that department, which says it all about lack of quality in midfield

My priority is a physical strong DM. And if we can find someone who has both qualities then by all means, but that’s more difficult.

But I don’t want a midfield of just strong brutes either, which is why I suggested Ceballos. He’s stronger than Diaz and Bennacer also tbf

My ideal scenario is to have creator, DM, Tonali or Bennacer.

Then Tonali or Bennacer can be our first bench midfield. Now don’t ask me whether our budget can afford it or not to have an extra body in the midfield, I wouldn’t know. But my issue is that we can’t be in a situation where one of our midfielders are injured and we are in a horrible position again. And considering we paid Origi 4m on the bench and we want to get rid of 8-10 players, I think it’s possible to afford a good midfielder in the bench IMO. That happened last season with Bennacer when Pioli preferred Kessie and Tonali
Hear, hear. In here you can have :
- Tall, mobile CF
- Speedy RW
- Technical CM
- Strong DM
- Real footballer RB

Sorry, just joking. But I think realistically, we can have something "bit similar" with :

(We can change Ugarte with RLC to give more realistic "effect" :D)

But yes Adli should be starting this game 100%
