I didn’t mention Juventus deserve CL more than us rather that I was mostly focusing on ourself and think our own performance didn’t really warrant a CL spot this season. Of course Juventus, a team that cheats doesn’t deserve a CL but it’s weird that our team needed to rely on that for CL qualification instead of getting the job done earlier.

This amount of points wouldn’t have gotten us CL last season or 2 seasons back, hence I think we can do better with another manager which is why I’m asking for Pioli to be fired.

I’m not angry that Juventus got deducted, I’m grateful for it. I just mentioned that I wish the management would still take action on Pioli even after this deduction because I lost my faith in him.

But I know it’s likely that Pioli is staying, so if he remains next season, I’ll back him and hope he gets a good Mercato to recreate post-lock down football. I’m not a Pioli hater, I like him actually but I think his cycle run out. Of course if he proves me wrong next season and takes the team to the next level when he gets adequate investment, I’ll be very happy.

I don’t think this take was controversial so I’m surprised with the responses tbh.

Now I’m actually tired of repeating myself so I’m just gonna summarise the main point from all the posts I made about this incident and quote it back if neccesary.

However what it does change is that regardless of what we want, I can’t see the owners firing him next season, after what has been a hugely successful season in terms of results. Top 4 and CL semis.

That being said if we have a decent mercato worst case he will get an easy top 4 and pass the group stages next year. That should be the minimum baseline with a decent squad.

There is an option to extend for another year in Chelsea' favour. So technically, he has two years left on his contract. I think an offer of 15mil plus 3mil in bonuses should do it especially if he decides to come and play for us and only us

Unpopular opinion. I think this Juve punishment is bs. Of course I'm happy about it, but if it was Milan I'd be fuming.

The only reason they got into this creative plusvalenza accounting is to circumvent FFP regulations. And it's not even to get an edge over domestic rivals, but to keep up with european super-spenders, who can spend freely and all they get is slap on the wrist from UEFA. Meanwhile Italian clubs are held accountable for every penny.

The other thing is: every club is doing it. So the argument that they gained an advantage from this is ridiculous. Yes they probably did it more than any other club, but the only reason they are getting punished is because they were dumb enough to get caught on a wiretap. AGAIN. (They should put The Wire on their mandatory corporate training list.)

And the last thing: this is not even a sporting issue. It's a financial/accounting issue. They should get investigated by some financial body for misleading the shareholders or whatever. I would also understand UEFA punishing them for jerking them around on FFP. But what has FIGC to do with this? I have no clue. They have no rules for clubs spending money, so why are they interested in how is Juve accounting their transfers. You think you would ever see PSG punished by Ligue 1 like this for their shady sponsorship deals?

Again, I'm very happy they got point deduction. I just don't see it as any kind of justice or karma. Just a random gift from heaven for us.
