Maybe he's just risk averse. Elliott paid for 400 mil in losses after getting the club for around 300 mil and then sold the club for 1.1 / 1.2 billion.

They were willing to make some losses in order to fix up the club and increase it's value.

Cardinale isn't willing to make short term losses to grow the club. He wants a really slow process of just doing enough to get top 4 in Serie A and also building a stadium. This could work in the long term, unless his miserliness makes Milan drop out of top 4.

I can't wait for next season. Leao will have to take on additional responsibility as the leader, the same goes for Theo Hernandez and we will have to find ways to bring out the best in them. To start with, we should give them numbers from 1-11, Leao gets 7 and Theo 5.

I imagine it will be a busy transfer market with 5 players moving out of the team and new players replacing them.

I think it's clear that the priority is to sign a new centre forward and I imagine we will bring in two, one veteran who is good at holding up the ball and another more pacey forward who is young and can become a bomber.

In midfield we will probably bring in two. The first is almost confirmed Kamada, and he is a good addition. I can imagine him playing mostly on the right, since we deploy a right midfielder more than an actual winger. I am not sure if we will sign a right winger unless maybe its someone low profile who will be harnessed into a future top player.

The other midfielder will be a defensive minded midfielder who adds physicality and strength in there although I think the priority should be to have someone good at controlling the tempo of the game.

I think our midfield options have a lot of room for experimentation and I don't think it's as much of a priority as the attack is but certainly we have too many general midfielders than actual specialists.

In defence we look good enough although I prefer a more established name somewhere in there. I think we would be very smart to bring in a top quality RB.

Generally I see us drifting more towards a classic 4-4-2 formation with Leao and a new CF up top, a flat line or square midfield and the basic back four and gk.

Those stats makes me a bit optimistic that if we give Pioli what he needs we can cook again next season. But I still have concerns about his favouritism and lack of adaptability.
