Milan, until it is purchased by an oil country or gets its own stadium, has to be run a certain way. It's a hard pill to swallow but it's true. Maldini has been publically against this method and I don't blame him

I think you lose way too much equity with important players and maybe fans by firing BOTH Maldini and Pioli. With Pioli, I think the club can maintain harmony for now anyway

A lot easier to replace a manager later on than undo a director's defining mercato

If I move toward acceptance, then I think we can say Maldini has left Milan much better than he found it. The new management team has been gifted a GREAT core of players: Maignan, Kalulu, Tomori, Thiaw, Theo, Tonali, Bennacer, Leao… that’s a great group to build on, you couldn’t ask for more.

RedBird is not going to invest out of pocket. I knew that in January when we had dire needs and they spent NOTHING. The club will be self-financed, the only thing RedBird will invest in is a new stadium.

So, I think you can build a great team off of 50M markets but probably not by spending 35M on one player. It’s going to take time, which Maldini did not have patience for. We will have to buy more players in the 5M to 30M range and it will take longer to get where we want to be.

Moncada has proven to be great at finding talent but the jury is still out on CDK, Adli, and Vranckx. We really need those guys to come good next season, like I can’t emphasize that enough.

And he’s going to have to hit at a high percentage with the 50M or so RedBird allows him to spend, which is straight from operations. The club generated a profit and we can invest those profits but not any more than that beyond sales. That’s the benefit of an Accounting Scudetto when your owners aren’t uber wealthy

Cmon bro he built a scudetto winning team and yes this season we had troubles, but troubles that were mainly due to the masterclass taction on fire and his idiotic choices.
I agree it wasn't the best mercato by MM but it was always going to be a hit or miss when we only had 35mil to spend in the last two windows. You cant always really on uncovering hidden gems as your strategy to win the season, we are not atalanta, our benchmark should not be aiming at winning the financial scudetto to maximise profit.

This is a prestige club not a fucking asset to be stripped bare minimum

Gerry has done nothing but fail so far from a fan perspective. He invested NOTHING into the club last summer and winter.
