no one is doubling down on anything. He fucks up, he’s gone too

this is clearly a performance driven culture

this is exactly what 80% of RnB clamored for every day

this a neggy force wet dream

well guys… you got what you wanted. where is the parade
This isn't about performance, if it was, then Pioli should have been fired first.

No proper owner of a sports team fires their championship GM after one bad year. And you know that.

This is negativity force's wishes, though. Pioli with more say in the market. I can't wait.

First part

you would let an employee publicly criticize you repeatedly after stumbling your way to an asterisk ridden top 4 spot?

if it wasn’t Maldini, you would boot them out quickly.

What I expected Is a strong showing for 2nd place outright and we should have reached the CL final. We were played off the pitch and that was due to how the team was constructed along with Pioli’s tactics. I was there. Someone was going down for that shit show of a match

I don’t know what to tell you if you disagree with the 1st part. if the name wasn’t maldini, it’s 100% sack 100% of the time
This.

Negativity force hates Pioli, actually this was the one thing that united all forces. But he protects the owners and club in the media, from a PR perspective he’s perfect

Fuck Gerry, Fuck RedTurd, Fuck Milan, Forza Maldini ❤️ 🖤 ❤️ 🖤
Who cares? Pioli with Moncada, your savior, is now in charge, with no bad Maldini to stop him.

Can't wait to the incredible talents that he scouted for years finally come to Milan.
i don't think he's my savior, nor have i ever been one of his disciples:lol:

for now, moncada earned a chance. we'll see what he does with the available budget.
pioli will probably also get more say in the transfers. if next season is not better, heads will roll again.

zero problems with that

Every club has bad mercatos,Moncada is their yes man otherwise he would be working in City,Psg or Real Madrid
Maldini is not that simple for them,he was one of the greatest players, playing for the most organized club and best club in the world at the time,he brought some of it back with him in this era and made us competitive again, comparing todays market and values of the players and how much did he spent and what we achieved in these last three years should give him credit for another year at least, but something was wrong right after the takeover it wasnt by accident that it took him to the last minute to renew the contract

The net spend of Milan, Inter, Napoli, and Juve over the last 4 seasons excluding 2018/19 season:

Milan: -176.19
Inter: -40.58
Napoli: -127.69
Juve: -135.25

Just posting this stat. Make of it what you will.

Need to look at the wages though, we cut down a lot too tbf. I’m not sure how to find that stat though
higher net spend than both juve and inter this season
last season as well (juve -65 million, milan -87 million, inter +162 million (!!))

Milan attack: Arnautović jumps, Thuram idea to zero @cmdotcom

How good is Marcus Thuram? I haven't followed him much. I know Liverpool want him
Nothing special. 25 undeveloped. Can miss clear chances and misplace passes. Strong and mobile. Similar build and style to Leao. Only worse in execution. But hes better for free than Arnautovic for 10M for sure.

They love Pioli, what are you talking about? He only put Messias as an RCM against Inter because of Maldini's bad transfer market.

Yeah, great, but from a "we're playing a relegation team" perspective, Pioli loses, but I'm sure the fans will appreciate that when we struggle for 4th place next year.

General, as a long time lurker I really do enjoy your posts. They are good fun.

But I think you're completely off here. Equating Maldini and cardinals as party a and b is not how the real world works. They aren't on a level playing field and shouldn't be.

One guy has earned the trust and respect of Milan fans for decades. The other another owner in the line of multiple overv a few years time who hasn't shown that he is ready to make us a world heavyweight again.

Why shouldn't we take Paolo's side 100%? It's an easy decision. And yes Paolo is allowed to make comments like that because he only wants vest for the club. A he's earned that over the years. Oh and one mercato doesn't ruin his burgeoning skills as an SD. Duds are signed all the time from the best. So yes Paolo deserves to be defended and not looked at as a simple employee of Gerry. Sport is also about the customers, us fans, and this is a huge betrayal on multiple levels.
It’s a fair question and, as a sign of respect to a fellow RnBer, I’ll give you a fair answer.

this has been talked about a few times in the last 30-40 pages

the one big factor that is leading to your conclusions is “Maldini the club legend“ factor

as if that should give Maldini latitude more than anyone else. Like he is almost untouchable

i can empathize with your position. truly

but the other side of the coin is that it literally is NOT a level playing field. He does not have the authority to do whatever he wants. He answers to the board. Gerry has the right to sack him and, there actually may be cause for the sacking.

for me, and I don’t think I’m 100% right as these situations are complicated and how the next year goes will frame this as a good/bad decision… but you take the maldini name out of this and we would overwhelmingly support a sacking of the technical director and coach

weve been through a bunch of shit. The best and only thing we can do is move forward

You mean the coach that has the full faith of the ownership group? The guy they want to consult on transfers more so than last year? The guy who put Messias as RCM in an untested 352, dropping Leao, against Inter?

If the ownership fired Pioli, you'd have a point. But they are doubling down on him. So I'm not sure if it's really about their evaluation of the decision to extend Pioli.
I’m no RedBird fanboy and I don’t know what their incentives to fire Maldini are exactly.

All I know is that Pioli’s contract was renewed and Maldini must’ve played a big part in that just like RedBird certainly gave their thumbs up.

My post was not an attempt at justifying Maldini’s sacking but just me pointing out what blame he carries for the underwhelming season we just witnessed where my take is that Pioli’s renewal proved much more disastrous than spending 35m on a kid who might still come good.

Lol makes sense and this PROVES that M&M were fired for failing to consult Pioli and signing a bunch of players he refused to play

I mean, if it’s still Kamada and we are actually after Marcus Thuram rather than Arnautovic I guess that’s a good start

Longo said this as well and he’s usually reliable but too early

And I’m aware Thuram isn’t exactly WC but he has qualities for this team & could be scary with Leao

I think ultimately Rafa & Mike want Milan to add good players and be competitive - those 2 names are in line with that a lot more than RLC

Wrong. We both know what Maldini is like as a man. The same reason you're criticizing our performance is the reason he is criticizing the board.
How can you not understand that? His motivation for doing so is pure. He wants us to succeed. Do you believe Gerry's main motivation is success? He wants it too. But he'd probably rather he make 100 mil more if it meant we didn't win a scudetto in the next 5 years. (Not suggesting he's going to go out his way to not be successful)

I'll ask again, with the money he was given, should he have done better? He believes he should've been backed more. He hasn't been in January and he wasn't really in the summer after winning a Scudetto well before we had hoped. With little resources he did an incredible job.

also, gerry can bring billy beane and cirque the soleil for half time shows for all i care as long as he's bringing results with it as well

if not then the 'gerry apologists' will be the first ones to kick him out the door, that's how consistency works

soul in football has been eroded long ago and there are no sacred cows

Something else to consider...

"Among the greatest unknowns deriving from the farewell of Maldini and Massara is certainly the reaction of the dressing room, and a tweet at around half past midnight by Leao – a simple puzzled emoji – speaks volumes."

We need clarity on the situation with our stars... We had a family atmosphere, it was one of the things keeping this team together, how is this going to affect the squad from a human point of view.

Remember, a lot of these guys accepted lower wages than what they could have gotten in the EPL, to stay and be part of something here in Milan.

Sign Ramos ASAP. We need leaders after Maldini and Ibra are gone.

Lol, I love how it is slowly dawning upon you guys that this new era has resulted in you being in the position of having to justify what is happening after all your comments about Maldini and your Pioli support.
