Looking back on Maldini's comments lately, it's actually all there. Especially his comments about how we have had no answer to Inter. At the time, you could take those comments differnt ways. But in retrospect, it was direct criticism of Pioli.

You could only assume that Pioli had a knife to sharpen as well. Probably annoyed of Paolo's criticism given the summer market.

Is anyone here actually believing this is a positive move for a club, or those who are arguing against Maldini are just trying to justify Cardinale decision to make them feel better.. I honestly cannot believe that anyone is positive about this. Yes maldini did mistakes but he brought Milan back to glory. We won Scudetto and played CL semis.. this was a success even in early 2000, when we had a dominant team… you cannot ask for more.

I agree with him of course. But it's clear he was battling for a different strategy than the one we will be going with. It was never a sustainable position. That alternative he mentioned a few years ago where we simply coast in the top four, maybe winning a scudetto again, doesn't HAVE to be what we end up doing. But it's much more likely that happens now than us dominating, and being CL contenders.

It depends on what happens this summer of course. If we placate the squad, get Thuram, RLC, Kamada and a couple of exciting players that fit the playstyle then we won't miss a beat. But if we're looking to sell to buy, then it's a huge downgrade to the plan. Lots of unknowns at this point to really understand what will happen, and almost every take is just an assumption. We just have to wait and see.

I'm just really sad we lost Maldini, and especially with the way it happened.

Maldini is milan. It's eternal. He is the epitome of greatness. True one club man. A trailblazer. Legendary player. Greatest defender that ever existed.

With the limited budget, he probably should have done a lot better but now we are just clutching at straws. Sure, we would have loved to see some reasoning behind his sacking. Could have been dealt with more dignity. Perhaps it's a personal issue. Maldini doesn't hold back and we all know that. In the corporate world, this doesn't fly.
Let's just wish him the best in his future endeavours cause that's all we can do at this stage. He is a multi millionaire and an ethereal figurehead of milan. I am sure he is fine.
In the meantime, Lets wait to hear directly from him and see how it all unfolded.
