One thing against Maldini: he lacks diplomacy.. confrontation is the only thing he knows and thats not a good thing.
He also knows other things:

How many trophies has Maldini won?

26 trophies

902 official matches played and 26 trophies won in twenty-five years in Milan jersey.

Last two years serie a champion and cl semi final with monopoly money.

But this is not enough. So next season murican better deliver treble at least.

And i dont want a single merican dollar spent. Only freebies and exotic undiscovered talents from the amazon area.

I don’t think anyone knows.

My best guess is Gerry always wanted Maldini out and to have his own people run the show, based almost entirely around analytics. He couldn’t it do it last summer because we won and starting off by losing Maldini was a hugely embarrassing way to start off. The disappointing performance this season was enough of an excuse to pull the trigger. But overall, I don’t think RB should even be disappointed with the performance this season. CL semis, qualifying (barely) is a good result for them. They made tons of money. I don’t think it has to do with performance.

I also don’t think it had to do with Pioli. They wouldn’t blow up their capital with fans because of Pioli. They made a huge move, one that has far reaching consequences for fan perception. It’s bigger than Pioli.

In my mind the only reason is power, and a difference of opinion about targets. Maldini wants to win now and spend to get guarantees. Investment ‘now’. Gerry wants it slow, keep taking smaller risks and coast with a profit, develop his portfolio of smaller clubs that will feed Milan until we build the stadium and then he can flip the club for a huge payday.

We’re about to turn into a pure moneyball analytics machine. Maldini wanted another direction. They clashed and Maldini had to go. I honestly think this is the only explanation and it was going to happen sooner or later unless Maldini kept winning enough where it was impossible for him to get fired.
This makes a lot of sense.

We had to keep winning to keep Gerry in a quandary.

If we won the Champions League then that would have made it difficult to oust management that is delivering results

This all goes back to the mental and man management aspect of things. To create that unity and team culture is a hard thing to do. We have now lost a pillar who brought the players together. There is absolutely no reason for Mike, Theo and Leao to hang around, teams would glady overpay for them and we have lost the guiding incentive.

Guys and girls. All good the commode is alive and kicking it.

But do not forget to do your job/study.

More things important in life than calcio.

Just log off and catch up during the evening or something. Have a tea moment.
Ever heard of multitasking? :o
I'm doing my work and simultaneously scrolling through the commode.
Having something to laugh about during work is actually a benefit, makes it easier to get through the day :D

@General when he thought defending cardinale on this horrible decision meant that he was part of positivity force.

And then saw half of the forum turn on him:

Girl be serious
If that was olivier giroud you would be singing a different tune
No one would ever fire Olivier Giroud, he's too handsome for that :o we need him to model our jerseys, no one better than him :proud:
I will 100% support Gerry if he insists that Giroud will be used as our starting striker :proud:

Inter Milan legend Fulvio Collovati says Paolo Maldini deserved his sacking at AC Milan yesterday.

Maldini and fellow football director Ricky Massara were sacked by Milan owner Gerry Cardinale in a Monday meeting.

While Milan fans are stunned, Collovati insists the decision is understandable.

He told Rai Sport: "The news may be surprising, but it doesn't surprise me.

"Maldini was the author together with Massara of a bankruptcy market, so he pays for this flop. This new AC Milan club may not want to make the leap and spend, but this can be understood because it is in the hands of a fund that calculates how much money comes out and how this money is spent.

"Tell me which player was signed by Milan last year who performed according to expectations... They probably should have given Maldini another year, but it's not surprising about this divorce in my opinion."
I googled this guy... ugly fecker, really, looks Hulk from old tv series... ugly ppl only have ugly things to say

I think we know that. Players will be furios for some time. After 2-3 weeks everything will calm down. Thats life and sport. You play for the club not for a one man.

And I love Maldini alot.

But they signed based on a project presented them by Maldini, and Maldini not being there could mean the project is drastically changing. Or maybe not. We don't know. Gerry - as I said multiple times - has a lot of explaining to do. And he needs to be very convincing. Otherwise, without the players, the staff and the fans on his side, he won't go far. No club in war with its base will. Players will ask for transfers. Fans won't attend games and stop buying merch. Sponsors will shy away from signing with clubs who seem to be unpredictable. That's nothing he can moneyball away.

However Cardinale is (hopefully) no morron. He (hopefully) doesn't need a random dude from the internet like me to explain and make him realize what he's done. He's (hopefully) very well aware of all of that and he's (hopefully) damn well prepared for what he has unleashed. Otherwise we're doomed.

But hey, let's not panic now. Moncada being promoted to SD has been the wet dream of many in here. I'm ready to give him a fair chance and to not expect Redbird to sell our most precious assets in his very first summer mercato from the get go.

Roger Federer is the GOAT
Wow Pioli really snaked Maldini

Turns out this is an episode of succession after all

I don’t blame him though. Maldini was likely asking for his head as well after the derby fiascos and Pioli fought back with his remarks on the PC. One can argue they were maybe trying to snake each other? If Maldini was asking Pioli to be revaluaated them why shouldn’t Pioli fight back and think Maldini was at a bigger fault?

You know my personal thoughts, Pioli for me is the main culprit, but I won’t blame him if he defended himself. And I think Maldini was right to question him. Maldini himself even went public and criticised his use of the 3 ATB in the most polite manner.

However, owners stood with Pioli. Time will tell if the correct decision was made.

Let me refresh people’s memories on what Pioli said in his press conference:

IMG_3287.jpeg

“I don’t care if they’re 18, 25, 30 as long as they’re smart and can play a certain level’

‘I think Paolo was generous for saying we deserved… I wasn’t a genius at school but very happy with 7’

Was this dig at Gerry or Maldini? Obviously Maldini wasn’t it? He even mentioned Paolo’s name and disagreed with him in public with his assessment.

I believe the reports that claim Pioli was one of the factors where the owners and M&M disagreed. I really think so.

If Pioli resigned then I would think it’s nonsense but since he’s staying.. hmm 🤔

I can’t believe people are actually buying this redbird shit.

They truly are good con men.

They do not give a fuck about this club, our history or us the fans. They care only about lining their pockets. Fact.

And before anyone says “yeah but that depends on the success of the club” - no it doesn’t. They are here for the short term, all debt in clubs name, pocket any money coming in - oldest trick in the book.
Another clueless post. How is RedShit going to make money if the value of the club tanks? It is their asset, they will be the ones losing money. I hate RedShit right now, but let's think logically.

How arse about face is this that a manager has managed to get a director fired? It all depends on how Pioli acts now
