He has nothing to lose
Its not like pioli gonna play him all of sudden
he sure won't with him backing the former management in a public display

in my dream for the upcoming season moncada valuates adli and sees the potential he has (if nothing else then for potential sale) and forces pioli's hand in playing him, pioli won't refuse obviously and maldini would never have done it

but dear yacine takes this dream away by acting from the heart

Pep was never fired.
Carlo on the other hand was fired almost everywhere including a mid season gtfo with Bayern.
Not even mid season, he was fired in September.

Another clueless post. How is RedShit going to make money if the value of the club tanks? It is their asset, they will be the ones losing money.
They won't let it tank nor will we win a trophy. Welcome to top 4 or Europa league standards. That's what brings in money.

It’s a fair question and, as a sign of respect to a fellow RnBer, I’ll give you a fair answer.

this has been talked about a few times in the last 30-40 pages

the one big factor that is leading to your conclusions is “Maldini the club legend“ factor

as if that should give Maldini latitude more than anyone else. Like he is almost untouchable

i can empathize with your position. truly

but the other side of the coin is that it literally is NOT a level playing field. He does not have the authority to do whatever he wants. He answers to the board. Gerry has the right to sack him and, there actually may be cause for the sacking.

for me, and I don’t think I’m 100% right as these situations are complicated and how the next year goes will frame this as a good/bad decision… but you take the maldini name out of this and we would overwhelmingly support a sacking of the technical director and coach

weve been through a bunch of shit. The best and only thing we can do is move forward
My compliments to @Susan... seems youve made General a better member than he was

How couldve it been Maldini's choice when you clearly admit he was only given full reign this season????
You are blaming every bad thing on him like he had unlimited funds and chose to make every bad decision - like every player that came and failed was his fault with no input from Moncada.

I get that the buck stops with him so he has to go but we know the context of many of these moves so I will ask you a question - If Moncada gets 50 mill budget and picks players and we finish 6th that means this whole new management team needs to go and we start again fresh next season?

Like you throw Lazetic at Maldini's feet but that wreaks of the move this new team want to make over and over again. Messias? Who was the alternative? Because every player rumored was over 20 mill? Origi? You believed that one in your bones. There are multiple reports Muani chose Germany for the specific reason many players do to raise their profile but we turned him away?

If you believed the reports we fumbled Enzo then you have to believe the same reporting that we did our part but Randal wanted Germany.
I honestly dont know what are we arguing about because i never denied Maldini his good deed.
If Maldini was always in charge then Leao , MM & Theo are Maldini but then so is Messias , Diaz , CDK & Origi.
If Maldini is only responsible after he renews then thats even worse.

Either way , Maldini is responsible for the last mercato & pulling that shit after asking for ultimate power is super bad.

Where? It should be easy to find.

And they won the league.

You sure you know how to play this game?
This Barca stuff is so boring. Obviously they didn’t go bankrupt but that’s not really a win on the side of Barca apologists, that’s a really really low bar to say I’m right.

They still took a huge gamble with their money, and they lost out on a lot of money by not qualifying for the CL knockouts. Which even you can admit was not smart on their end. They’re still in an extremely vulnerable position and they will have to get rid of players already.

Who’s Plan do you think it was in the first place? You think Paolo and Massara wanted to build a team slowly with consistent CL qualification and data-driven scouting? It was always Gazidis/Elliott and they sold to an investor who specializes in doing that in a football club, RedBird. Stop trolling for likes and use your brain.

Foot Mercato journalist Sébastien Denis is reporting that AC Milan’s French contingent, consisting of Mike Maignan (27) and Théo Hernandez (25), haven’t reacted well to Paolo Maldini’s departure.

Maldini’s departure was envisaged for 2024, but in a shock, sudden decision the former Italian international has cut short his stay at the San Siro. His departure has been described by Denis as a “catastrophe,” and it throws into question the futures of three key players in AC Milan’s squad.

Maignan and Hernandez, both of whom are close to Maldini, have reacted badly to the Italian’s departure, as has former Lille OSC forward Rafael Leão. In Italy, La Repubblica are reporting that Hernandez is considering his future at the Serie A side, whilst Maignan, who is garnering interest, is now hesitant to sign a contract renewal at the club. Following the international retirement of Hugo Lloris, Maignan has inherited the number one jersey with Les Bleus.

management just sacked club legend a day after the end of the season, placing all eggs in the moncada basket, what signs do you think it transfers to an otherwise failed coach who uses milan as lifeline for his career?

who is moncada? gerry's choice

all that is to say that moncada isn't necessarily someone who should be listened to just yet.. but that the leash on removing the cogs which don't work in the machine just got a whole lot tighter

Just hoping whatever happens current crop of stars get contacted by Maldini and get his blessing which somehow makes them at ease with the sacking, and somehow get on board with the project going forward and don’t jump ship.

Did you see my latest post, Nico Schira posted a link that Pioli was one of the disagreements.

This Baldie will be the end of me. I can’t even root for him to get fired now
Finally got here after all the sulky posts.

Like I said before, Pioli is only kept for stability and economical reasons. If he fucks up he will canned.

Next round of news for Milan fans: Juventus getting their points back.

Wouldn't surprise me

They accepted a plea deal with the FIGC on the basis that no further points will be deducted if they don’t appeal any further.

It’s a closed case now.

That's a bit where I stand too. Translation:

Good thing it was Cardinale who sent Maldini away.... It sounds like a crazy statement, but it contains a reflection that I want to share with you, I'll explain right away. If it had been Paolo who resigned, I would be even more worried today. I would ask myself, what now? Right after that I would ask myself what prompted him to do so, as well as the even more alarming question of "does he know something that we don't know yet?" Come to think of it, that would be an even more disturbing picture than what we are witnessing today. The fact that the choice, as unpopular and burdening as it is, was made by the ownership, which voluntarily renounces a convenient " shield" of red and black DNA, suggests that it has been properly preparated. I struggle to read anything else into it; it would be improvisational, which RedBird is not.

Covid hit them hard because of how they ran their finances. I didn't think they had the team or the management to win anything this year. And I think their league win was somewhat of a fluke. Real was monstrous in the CL but lost some very bad games in the league.

But I never understood the guys who were saying that they are going under or that they will suffer. None of those things happened. Their value even increased. And their player values are high so even if they have to sell, they can sell for profit.

Is anyone here actually believing this is a positive move for a club, or those who are arguing against Maldini are just trying to justify Cardinale decision to make them feel better.. I honestly cannot believe that anyone is positive about this. Yes maldini did mistakes but he brought Milan back to glory. We won Scudetto and played CL semis.. this was a success even in early 2000, when we had a dominant team… you cannot ask for more.
Only time will tell.
In the meantime, enjoy the ride.

I've said numerous times that Curva Sud are a bunch of morons with zero football knowledge, but today they managed to surprise me unpleasantly even further. Paolo Maldini kicked out of Milan out of nowhere and these pumpkins didn't even try to protest. No banners, no gatherings (even if small), not even any social media posts

I don't think Maldini was fired for incompetence or lack of results. We hit our target. Performance was fine. The issue I think was that Maldini wanted a different strategy going forward than the one Gerry was building towards.
I think even that's fine.

But the only reason they hired someone with 0 SD experience was to smooth things over with fans, but he joined in with the fans to put pressure on them while making mistakes on their dime.

Pretty easy to see why this happened.
