It definitely has its place and helps but if it didnt work fully in a super structured game like baseball, how is it going to help you sit at the table with the clubs who dwarf you in spending and also utilize these same analytics tools that you do.

Regarding Maldini's market choices, I think the info leaked to journalists are partially fake to make Maldini look like a clown.

What was reported is that his mercato would look like this:

Kamada - free
RLC - 20mill
Brahim - 22 mil
Arnautovic - 8 mil
Berardi - around 15-20 mil
Appoint Pirlo as a coach

This is terrible. 65-70mil mercato with us not really be any stronger. My opinion regarding this:

Kamada - it seems to be a done deal anyway, and the new management also approved it. For free, in a 3mil contract he seems like a good purchase to me

RLC - it is reported that actually Moncada is also a fan of his. This is a rumour that really has legs, we agreed with him on a personal terms, Maldini scheduled a meeting for yesterday with his agents etc. I don't really get this, based on previous seasons, defensive and offensive stats, injury history, price, etc it doesn't seem like a good purchase to me. No matter if it is Moncada or Maldini, for 20 mill, I strongly believe we can get a better midfielder than him.

Diaz - I think he was a player mismanaged by Pioli for years now. I hate him as a CAM, he is atrocious, he just doesn't have the right characteristics, the vision, passing skills, phisycality, etc. However he really impressed me as a RW. His shortness and woeful strenght is not really a problem in the wings, small guys are the norm in this position, and Leao is really a big exception for this rule. Come on, Maldini was here for 5 years, in any mercato, he could have signed him, he was never that expensive, and RW was always a hole in our squad. He is definitely not a Maldini profile.

Pirlo as a coach - this is also laughable. Yeah, Maldini would have wanted to change Pioli, I can understand that, after how he killed promising young players like Adli, CDK, even Vranxkc to an extent. This is tipycal lazy ass journalism, Maldini and Pirlo won everything together, they are friends, we want to change coaches, Pirlo is free, has experience at Juve, so why not?
