If Redbird really builds a new stadium without Inter they would automatically be good to great in my eyes. Milan's president Pirelli built San Siro and it was for Milan only and then they arrived later as always, these parasites nati dopo, nati tardi, nati male

I'm sure his deal with the MLS is worth a lot too, but over the long term they'll give him his own franchise same as Beckham. That's probably going to end up being worth close to what he turned down with Saudi and he doesn't ruin his reputation by selling out.
And he doesn't have to live in Saudi Arabia.

I know we don't have Paolo's side of the story yet, but it's looking more and more like the reason for the separation is difference of ideas going forward. More specifically, Maldini wanting the more traditional model of him being the SD and having all final decisions on the sporting side. In other words, we can have scouts and analytics, but he ultimately decides (on his own) who to bring in.

Seems to me even Pioli disagreed with some of the choices from last summer, when in fact it was presented to us that everything was done in harmony.

The fact that Pioli has stayed silent to this moment is the most surprising to me. There must be some real bad blood between him and Maldini.

Roger Federer is the GOAT
It's becoming more and more clear with each interview and rumour (I'm sure some are credible mixed in there) that literally the whole management was conspiring against Paolo. Even if they wanted to change directions, this whole thing stinks and is in terrible taste. These guys are so far away mentally from what makes this club special. Hopefully they fuck off before irreparable damage is done to the soul of this club. Somehow this feels worse than fasobelli even though I know the club will be just fine on the pitch compared to them.

All this while we were hating on Gerry for sacking Maldini but he literally just made a decision the rest of the management wanted. We have reports saying Pioli and Maldini had a discussion after the Spezia game, and he made a remark in his PC that he wants smart players. We have reports saying Moncada wasn’t listened by Maldini in some of his suggestions. We official interviews from Furlaini and Scaroni talking about how Maldini wanted full independence and that wasn’t possible so they agreed on the split. What is Gerry supposed to do?

Fire the rest of the management including our coach or just fire Maldini? If you’re Gerry what would do? I’m upset with the decision to fire Paolo because I’m on board with his project more than what RB really wants. I want more experienced players. I want us to move to a 4-3-3 system which I think Paolo is on board but Pioli has other ideas. I want more budget after our SF run to make inroads. I want Pioli gone because I think he finished his cycle. All of this Maldini wanted and I’m 100% on board.

But again, should I really hate Gerry for making a call to remove the ‘bad apple’ in the management team? It’s becoming clear Maldini wasn’t being liked.

Gerry just made the decision he thought was in the best interest to maintain stability within the management team.

Which is why as much I don’t agree with the decision, I’m not on board with #CardinaleOut, at least until I see their work in the summer. I also think Gerry had no choice but to fire Maldini, best interest in his vision and the rest of the management, including our coach, Pioli.

Scaroni in the interview said

We were talking about Pioli: his figure comes out strengthened, yet there was a moment, after Spezia, in which Maldini wanted to exempt him (and among the names he had also thought of Pirlo).

"I don't want to express myself on the idea of the exemption, but yes absolutely, Pioli is central to the project".

he didn't say that was false he said he does not want to express himself

I don't thinks that's necessarily true. Yes high transfer fees are out of our reach but we should be able to grow a core and offer them higher wages as they grow with the team. That is certainly sustainable. We buy guys at reasonable prices when they're young and let them grow together. Serie A is too competitive for cl places to have high turnover of squad every year. You need a core be consistent.
who would you currently count as part of the core? tonali, theo, leao, mike, tomori?
who of them do you see at milan in 5 years, guaranteed?

obviously tonali, maybe mike and theo. tomori is english and will probably want to prove himself again in the premier league. leao has also spoken about the premier league on several occasions.

if you are not real, bayern, psg or barca, you have a hard time against the pull of premier league. but again… selling key players is absolutely fine, as long as we replace them properly.

We let Kessie go and we did not really mind to substitute him because we didn't want any longer to make 0 0 against Bologna and Torino while we are fighting for the Scudetto, we didn't want anymore to struggle in beating teams like Empoli and Cagliari ( both 1-0 ) we wanted to change our style into a more attacking style and CDK should have been the main player to put in place this change and he has been a total failure. We ended up in playing with Diaz when we wanted to attack and Krunic when we wanted to defend without having Kessie on the team
Kessie was a big loss, no two ways about it. But his absence doesn’t explain why we can’t play out from the back and our defenders end up hoofing it to Giroud or Diaz. Neither does it explain why we see these weird sequences where players run with ball straight into a wall of defenders or even run at their own teammates because they have no idea what to do with it.

I'm sorry, but I respectfully completely disagree with you. Absolutely get rid of Pioli, Scaroni and whoever else before Paolo. Even positivity force turned against Padre this year, and now we're kissing his feet (not you)? The mental gymnastics some here are taking supporting (or at least accepting) the Maldini firing is very strange.

As I've said a few times, directors make bad signings and bad decisions on occasion. Paolo literally put together a Scudetto winning team for the first time in a decade. Calling Maldini a bad apple when every single player, manager, etc that he's ever worked with have called him the best professional there is?

No, I'm inclined to believe his side of the story over this ownership who have done nothing to deserve our respect. Give me Capitano any day over Gerry, and yes Gerry out.

I also think Pioli is on borrowed time, regardless of all this PR media push. They won’t let him dictate the market or make decisions like discarding CDK against the opinion of the analysts or Moncada. A few bad games and they’ll replace him with RDZ without thinking twice. If Pioli can’t develop talent then he’s at odds with the strategy same way Maldini was.

I see nothing that binds Mike to Milan right now. Tonali is in and out Milanista, Theo is here because of Maldini and he and his GF enjoys living in Milan. Maldini looked like a second dad to him in a way and losing Maldini meant risking losing Theo in the coming years and there's just no way we will be able to find a similar replacement to him on the 4M salary he has

Rdz is the dream. A coach with an actual philosophy is what we need. Especially when his name isn’t Giampaolo.

full Baresi interview

My big hope now is that they make it clear to him that his number one priority is developing talent and being more forgiving. That’s something Moncada was very vocal about, how he’s very critical of Italian teams and their lack of trust in young players. Pioli has to change, adapt or die.

I’m not trying to acquit Maldini. I didn’t even mention him in my post. He definitely carries some of the blame.

RedBird is the issue here.
Renewing Pioli last fall, keeping him now while firing Maldini tells you everything you need to know about their ambitions with this club which are; to improve AC Milan in every other aspect than on the pitch.
Maldini renewed Pioli. What does that have to do with Redbird? Maldini gave Pioli and 8 out of 10. You don’t give someone 8 out of 10 if you gona fire them. In addition his actions is the reason why it’s tough to sack him in the first place.

Maybe they see this great opportunity to replace Tomori. As an englishman there is a market in EPL and possibility to make good profit (that can help with transfer budget).

Pioli is here for the same reason Maldini stayed last season. Transition.

They used Maldini to transition and keep things together in a year when a change of ownership happened. But it's now clear that whatever "agreement" Maldini and Gerry made last summer, in Gerry's mind it was only done so that Maldini would sign the extension. But he never intended on continuing with that model. I'm certain he always knew the way ahead wasn't going to be with Maldini long term. Gerry's a piece of shit.

Now he is doing the same with Pioli. They are making the same comments about Pioli now that they made for Paolo last year. "He is very important, he is central to the project, blah blah". Fast forward one year, and I bet Pioli is gone....unless he wins a major title.

mike will probably depend on how big the demand will be

theo i'm still divided. on one hand he won't have liked maldini's sacking at all, on the other hand he feels at home at milan, his girlfriend is italian and his child was born there. i can still see him at milan in 5 years

we will not always be able to replace players immediately in terms of quality, but the important thing is that they have the potential to reach the level

I agree completely. Pioli is not their pick. The moment he has a wobble he’s gone, especially if he does the same shit he did with Adli and Vranckx.

Its not about picking Roma before Milan. If all is agreed you need to be a cunt to back out of the deal even if signature is not there. If you are an agent you risk of damaging your reputation. And who is to say that we offer more money?

Though we had shit like this happen
to us numerous times. I hope we win this one.
