Apologies for a long post but wanted to share my thoughts.

Jokes aside. Many of you guys do not know how to bussiness works, or you just don't want to believe that Milan is now a company. Lets be frank here. RB is not here to run the club and to use a club as a personal PR (read Berlusconi) or "wash" the money (ready PSG, City, Juventus). They are here to make a profit. Now there is a two way you can make a profit: A) making sure your annual revenues are trending over annual cost or B) selling the club a higher value that was purchased (Including all the losses you may accumulated over the way). Obviously one doesn't exclude, as a matter of the fact the best strategy is to combine them. IMO the latter is exactly what is RB plan.

Now to sell the company at best possible value the key is to have meet couple of economic KPI's. First of all increase the revenues and make sure that revenues are growing at higher pace than your expenses (example. if you increase your revenues by 10%, a rule of the thumb is that your expenses should not grow at higher or same pace). Before i explain furtger please note that Milan was in a loss making position for a decade, with additional 100M loss in 2022 (revenues 240M, cost 340M). Please note that this is for a season we ended winning scudetto and included all the premiums, but it is true that matchday revenues were small due to Covid restrictions still in place. This year it is expected for our revenues to be close to 400M. Assuming that cost structure has been pretty much the same, it will be a first breakeven year. Way to go. However, extension of the contracts for our key players (theo, Tomori, Kalulu, Bennacer, Tonali, Leao), will have an impact on the paycheck bill in the next seasons. At the same time, we also brought Origi and CDG who are having significant impact on our cost, between the paycheck and the acquisition fee (CDK).

In terms or revenues that are couple of relevant sources. Matchday revenues, TV Rights, Sponsors and Stadium. With us winning the Scudetto last year, increasing the average attendance to 72k and reaching CL final, we are already at peak with Matchday revenues and TV rights. Sponsors are expected to pay higher fees for their name on the shirts and stadium now that Milan is back to top 15 clubs, but there is no large window. TV revenues may grow, but impossible to compete with EPL. And finally stadium. We do not have one and it is not going to happen before 2027. What I am trying to say that Milan revenue limit without the stadium is 500M max and this means that we have to play CL football every single year.

Now lets review the cost structure. Main drivers are services (administration, legal, …) 65M, Stadium rental 25M, Amortization of the players acquisition fees 76M, and salaries 162M. Now acquisition of a player like Halland would hit that line by approx. 50M per year (30M gross salary and 20M amortization of the 100M fee over 5 years contract). Thus, forget about 100M mercatos, especially as the expensive players are also seeking expensive salaries. Thus this is out of reach for Milan at the moment!!!!

Also you need to think about KPI.s, If company is making 100M in revenues and has a cost structure of 50M this is a 50M profit but also a 50% GM. If the company is making 500M in revenues but has a cost of 450M it also makes 50M in profit but GM is only 10%. What do you think which company is worthed more on the market?

What I am trying to say that increasing cost in line with our increase in revenues will not work as a strategy if we want to be competitive and profitable. Thus is why we have to look for alternative way and this is creating value. In the company players are “assest” and if you buy an asset for a cheap price and sell expensively or at least his real market value is increase this is how brand is growing. We do not need to sell leao for 150M. What is important is that his true market value is not 100M+ and we purchased him for 35. Also if you find a prospect like Thiaw, you purchase for 6M and his value today is 20, you made an instant “unrelized” profit of 14M. Now this is a bussiness and this is what now attacts the attention of investors.

So long story short. I do not see Milan selling key players as this will be a big risk to our secured sport in CL every year. Maldini paid the price as he purchased “expensive” players (ORIGI and CDK) whose market value didn’t increase and at the same time we are paying their high salaries. This is why we have a big no to Arnautovic, Berardi and similar players that will not significantly increase the level but will significantly increase the cost!!! Yes, we all want instant glory but are we really expecting that owners will pay for that our of their pocket. Those times are gone. Let think about sustainability. We can grow at easier pace but organically and set ourself on a strong foundation for the future. Minimal risk and secured growth. This is now the philosophy, and the only way to succeed is for all of us to be on board! Once again, hard to accept that we are not at Madrid, United and Bayern levels, but we made so many wrong decisions since 2007, and we are more down than we think. One scudetto is not going to cure our problems, as well as once scudetto will not make Napoli or Leicester a big European club!

The analysts say that PSG is now worth 4,5 billion, Man City is worth 5 billion, and Real is worth 6 billion. They have all increased costs with the revenues. A football club is not valued in the same way as a regular business which might be valued according to the net present value of it's future cash flows. None of these giant clubs make big amounts of profits. They spend most of their revenues on salaries and transfers.

There is a completely different way of valuing top football clubs than other companies or businesses.

I have been reading your posts lately, and I’d just like to say…don’t worry. It will be alright.
My corporate type A spidey sense is giving me failed "market disruptor" vibes. That's my issue.

Watch American football from before the 90s. Though I have massive respect for rugby. I wish it was more popular here in the states.

I remember 90s American football well... God bless Channel 4 for picking it and Serie A up!!!

I was a bears guy, and Bulls... With Chicago being called the windy city I felt a pull towards their teams, as Edinburgh is also a windy city lol.

Those pellets go everywhere. I do like how even the surface is and how fast the ball moves, it's fun to play on technically.

The newer fancier AG fields (called 4G) are doing away with them, and they're honestly really great.
Those pellets getting in your boots and socks was awful haha. I did appreciate the surface, however our home field won field of the year in ncaa and was the best grass I’ve ever played on. We had some amazing fields in our league (one team was D3 national champ like 7 or 8 times, 3 of which were my So, Jr, and Sr year) and some were worse than a high school field, so the differences were insane.

Hes at the best team in the world right now and hes captain! There are alot of clubs that want him for free who are much better placed than us including City desperately wanting to renew him.. we will offer max 5mil a year. Those reasons you mentioned are cute but not enough for a professional beast to want to come here.. stop dreaming buddy
Lol has it ever occurred to you that he might want a change of scenery after spending 7 years at the club and go out on a high after potentially winning the treble? He's also played in England and Germany so it's probably between Spain and Italy but his obsession with all things Milan plays in our favour (just like Baldanzi).

I'm not saying it's a done deal by any stretch but IF he decided to leave City then it's a good possibility IF RedBird have some balls.

Of those, PSG's value is the one I question the most.

City makes sense because it is in the EPL. Real's valuation doesn't mean anything because you can't buy Real, even if you wanted to.

But I wonder if anyone would actually buy PSG because of how far back Ligue 1 is from the other leagues. PSG is like a white elephant.

Or am I off? I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

Okafor is another dude that hasn't scored double digit goals....in the mighty Austrian Bubdesliga, playing for a club that's lost 3 games in the last 2 seasons. I'm not sure what the data analytics say on him, but it better be exceptional because the stats surely aren't.

Giving very much dybala

Agreed...Furlani was pro-Dybala so hopefully he's willing to sign the next best thing and correct Maldini's mistake from last summer.

Exactly, like I said bandaids are short term and don’t work forever. It’s very possible that signings like Acerbi don’t work, they often don’t. I didn’t even say inter would become trash or anything, I said they’d have to start a new cycle and get costs down. That’s a fact.

Idk where you got 5 years from. Just two years ago they had the leagues best squad with one of the worlds highest paid and notable managers. He walked away for a reason, and they sold Lukaku for a reason. Their team is objectively worse than it was then, it’s impossible to argue otherwise. Their financial situation has already made them worse. If you wanted to argue that it was an exaggeration to say inter would implode, then sure I’d agree with that. But they have definitely had their financial trouble affect the team. It would be “stupid” to say it hasn’t. We’re talking about a team that finished a couple points higher in the table and literally beat us to make the major final they are in. That’s a pretty marginal difference in quality. These guys aren’t 20 points above us for a reason.
Band aids like Thiaw or even Kjaer are more than welcome.
Who the fuck approved CDK is the work of someone who doesnt know what is he doing regardless of the fee.
Expecting Diaz to replace Hakan is an amateur work.
Vran however i understand.
Having a vision & working toward a defined goal is what matter.

Do you still play at all?

I play a lot, like 4-5 times a week, and two years ago I started using adidas Copa Team Turfs, i.e. the old man shoe. A shoe I used to make fun when I was younger.

For the more casual and friendly games I play in, they're... so comfortable.

I have not played in several years. I had to travel 40ish mins for close games, over an hour for others.. got tired of committing 5+ hours on sundays to then only have 10 guys show up.

The M&M double firing actually players in our FAVOR re sales as fodders will simply have to accept that they're not part of the new project and find new accommodation. Also, by eliminating the weaker players from the squad we boost the overall quality.

WIN-WIN

Disagree. First of all I would like to see someone actually paying that money for the motioned clubs, Man City is playing and winning in the EPL that has TV rights 3 times higher, matchday revenues 3 times higher and sponsorship deals that are financed by their owners (this is conflict of interest btw). All 3 of them broke FFP rules many times and their owners do not care about accumulating debts (PSG and Man City are pure showing off for petrol owners) and Real is all about politics. They would be bankrupted many times in the past if they are not a club that makes a statement of Spanish politics ... Most importantly they all have stadiums. Say thank you to Italian bureaucracy why this is not a case in Italy.

Ultimately do you really care only about winning even if it comes from the bloody money and petrodollars. A. If yes, they you certainly do not care that Maldini is not there any more. But more importantly, for a decade Milan was left without ownership, without vision, and thus we are not paying the price. At least, there is someone who is seeing potential to bring it back where it deserves. Every year before Elliott and RB was just putting us deeper in the shirt. Deeper you are it is harder to get back and question is even if you can.. accept it!

Hope we get Ndicka and Thuram.
Exactly the players this team need, Ndicka left footed defender, big, pretty strong and fast, he can also play lb. Him and Thiaw for the future.
Thuram same; fast, strong and big. Will fit perfectly
