Scalvini is one of the most impressive young CBs in the world, and Italy is still producing talent in defense, midfield, and in goal.I'd take Frattesi and Bastoni, but the others have played well and that's pretty evident by the results the obtained on the pitch, (though Frattesi wasn't there).
The thing that really does my head in is how in the various Italian youth teams, there is no stand-out Italian attackers. Even when you look at the various youth tournaments where Italian teams went far, even winning some, the most impressive attacker is probably Vignato? Maybe if you want to count Baldanzi, and even then, Pafundi looks more talented--but those two were really more attacker midfielders than wingers or anything.
There are no Italian attacking talents who are on the same level as say... Udogie, Scalvini, Casadei, or even someone like Vicario who is 26 (young for a keeper) but there aren't late bloomers that impress me either.
The younger levels of Italy feature more immigrants and kids of mixed heritage like other European nations... and yet it seems like none of them are playing in attacking spots. It's really bizarre to me. No livewire wingers, no one like a Chiesa or even Zaniolo.
The lack of talent at the striker position is a world-wide problem.
