I'd take Frattesi and Bastoni, but the others have played well and that's pretty evident by the results the obtained on the pitch, (though Frattesi wasn't there).
Scalvini is one of the most impressive young CBs in the world, and Italy is still producing talent in defense, midfield, and in goal.

The thing that really does my head in is how in the various Italian youth teams, there is no stand-out Italian attackers. Even when you look at the various youth tournaments where Italian teams went far, even winning some, the most impressive attacker is probably Vignato? Maybe if you want to count Baldanzi, and even then, Pafundi looks more talented--but those two were really more attacker midfielders than wingers or anything.

There are no Italian attacking talents who are on the same level as say... Udogie, Scalvini, Casadei, or even someone like Vicario who is 26 (young for a keeper) but there aren't late bloomers that impress me either.

The younger levels of Italy feature more immigrants and kids of mixed heritage like other European nations... and yet it seems like none of them are playing in attacking spots. It's really bizarre to me. No livewire wingers, no one like a Chiesa or even Zaniolo.

The lack of talent at the striker position is a world-wide problem.

50mln for Bennacer *who I adore and think is a top cm!) is a YES coz of his injuries. 50mln you take 2 young players and r'n'r!
I hope you understand the irony in thinking it's fine to sell Bennacer for 50m to reinvest in the squad

But not Tonali

Just goes to show how good scouting is in Italy when it makes up for the large gap in revenue.

When I was young, Rivera. Many more since then.
Brother, it is a pity that the concert took place on that day of all days. You will have an opportunity in the future where you will both be at the stadium. But the nice thing was that you had a wonderful time with your son that day and no one can take that away from you. I'm in a grieving period right now that won't end and is hell on earth. Cuz I lost my wife and children in a serious traffic accident, and that was almost a year ago now. Through your post you have spurred me on to write more again. Just at the moment when I write this text, you have brought me to other thoughts and for that I'm very grateful brother. Maybe it is fate to get back on track with life after this tragedy. Well, now I would like to say something about Milan in general: I see in Gerry a visionary who has a clear goal and this is just emerging in the Mercato and the upcoming construction of the new stadium. The new stadium will be a milestone in Italian soccer history. It is a pity that Tonali was sold, but to be honest the transfer fee was too high and Tonali was sacrificed. Sandro could have stayed and I don't think Furlani or the club pushed him to do so, because all players make their decisions in favor of the club or not. In any case, I wish Sandro all the best and good luck in the Premier League. I wish all members in this forum a nice day. To all: please don't argue about things we can't change, it's wasted time, life is way too short to argue forever. It is not meant as an attack and please do not misunderstand. Bye Bye and Forza Milan
Sorry to hear about your family.

And thank you for your wise words, I agree with you 100% that we should not spend time arguing about things we cannot change.

It's strange that, however our mercato looks awesome, our biggest issue in new formation still isn't adressed, while it needs the most time to adapt in the team.
Moncada and Pioli either believe in Krunic wholeheartedly - can't see the reason why would they - or have in mind someone huge, for whom it's better to wait than to buy an alternative sooner.

Perhaps they expect Bennacer to return earlier than expected?

I think Okafor will mainly be deployed as a CF. He is too good to not play behind Leao. Giroud is still reliable and available, he played 3209 minutes last year, and 2520 the year before for us.

Lets imagine a realistic scenario, in which we will play 38 league games, exit the Coppa in semifinal as usual (4 games), and exit the CL in round 8 (10 games). That's a total of 52 matches to play, which is 4680 minutes. I think Giroud and Okafor will split most of the minutes, they both will play 2000 minutes+. I think in a the position we are, with how much we reinforced our attack, Giroud can still do a decent job with him getting more service. Also a striker that can outperform Giroud would be a costly operation, which might be hard to execute once we purchased our 2 mids. Don't forget that if we get an established striker, like Taremi or Morata, that would leave Okafor not get enough playtime in either LW or CF.

I think we will go with a young talent in 3rd CF as opposed to a more established one. Whether it's Colombo, Veliz, or another name, I don't know, but I believe we will look at profiles like this.
Front three of leao, Okafor and pulisic will confusing as hell. They can swap positions in almost all permutations to suit dynamic scenarios and leave no reference at all.

I love Bennacer, but in my opinion we need someone much more defensively orientated to play as a "6", while Bennacer few months ago we used as a "false 10"
If Pioli wants to use a player like Bennacer there than fine, but I can see us ripped like in semis last year with midfield with Reijnders and RCL being protected by Bennacer. IMO we need a player like Nigel De Jong there or prime Kessie to play between our defenders.

So? No point in signing substandard players just because they are Italian. Quality in Italy has taken a big dive compared to even a decade ago
As an Italian, I have to agree. These days I am a Milan fan before I am an NT fan, and in any case the Italian NT is doomed for this generation at least (not to mention the Intereista di merda managing the team). Only thing I care about is the "Italy trained" players we need to have.

Yeah I think Bennacer is best as a 6 rather than an 8, provided he cleans up his game and doesn’t get too cute when dribbling in our own box

As much as I would like to agree with you - you really have to put it into perspective:

Sassuolo want nearly double what we paid for Chukwueze to sell Berardi

Tonali nearly funded our whole transfer campaign

Frattesi only wanted Inter

Parisi was overpriced for a backup

Jorginho just moved to Arsenal and is succeeding in England

Casadei, Pafundi, Retegui and Ndour have not earned the right to play for Milan. Sitting on our bench as 3rd choices would have been detrimental to their development.

Scamacca made his bed with his decision last season and now he is laying in it. He would cost nearly triple what we paid for Okafor - even though he is coming off a major surgery.

Baldanzi would cost more than what we paid for Pulisic and is much further behind in his development.

Bastoni, Dimarco, Barella, Pellegrini, Chiesa, Fagioli, Kean, Mancini, Raspadori, Politano and Immobile are not possibilities.

Football is not a priority for Verratti and Zaniolo.

We will approach this season with an Italian core of Pioli, Sportiello, Mirante, Calabria (c), Florenzi, Pobega and potentially Colombo.

Zeroli will also break through to the first team eventually, and we will hold our breath on the emergence of Francesco Camarda over the next few years.

We may have room for one more Italian for depth - but it will undoubtedly be somebody that is either overpriced or has not earned the right to play for AC Milan just yet.

This. And then there is "decreto crescita', which makes Italian fodder even more expensive.

I think Bennacer as a pivot between Reijnders and RLC would work well, as both of them are physically imposing players who aren't afraid of tracking back.

I don't think physicality was the problem against Inter, but the tactics Pioli employed. Pioli fell into the traps that Simone laid for Pioli, over and over again.

And still have Luka, Cdk and Alexis. Which is not bad
I sincerely hope we sell CDK, or at least loan him. If he stays with us, we will feel compelled to play him (so his value does not drop). He may be a great player, but he is not a fit for our team.
