But it's not just about "discipline" so much as it is about what he asks from our players. Putting Musah as a RB was a terrible idea. He looked uncomfortable there, because... he's not a RB. The kid started out as a RW, before being moved to a RM and CM and all that. Young Florenzi was versatile like that, and Musah is versatile but not that versatile.
In the second half, our attack stopped being a threat. Okafor outside of a 1-2 good actions, wasn't a threat. Chuk? He was terrible. Terrible.
What in the name of The Lord does Jovic do to warrant so much play time? What?
We had no connection to Giroud. He was isolated.
Our midfield could not possess the ball, and without an attack to be a threat of any kind, it was just wave after wave of pressure.
Pioli also did this thing where he spreads us out, length-wise, which provides so much space for a team to attack us. It's insane.
Could Okafor have done more? Chuk? Theo? Krunic? Etc. Yes. They could. But the issues are consistent, whether we play against Napoli, Udinese, or Lecce. Pioli makes absurd tactical choices that play into the other team's hands.
At a certain point, Pioli has to take all the blame because he's the one who is making these choices, making these instructions, and they're happening regardless of the players. Whether we have Leao or Theo or Musah or whoever, it's just... these are his instructions and they aren't fucking working.
